I try to make it to an Aloha Kitchen every time I visit Vegas, and this time we checked out the Decatur location. It was my boyfriend's first time, and thankfully it lived up to the hype. We ordered way too much food, which is usually how you know you're doing it right. We started with the adobo fried rice omelet to share, and honestly, we demolished it before our entrées even hit the table. It was bomb. The adobo flavor throughout the fried rice was so good and paired perfectly with the eggs. For my meal, I had the oxtail soup, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Big, meaty pieces and a rich, comforting broth. It actually reminded me of a bowl I had during our trip to Kauai just a few months ago, which is about as high a compliment as I can give. Tim ordered the loco moco. He's a sucker for loco moco and really enjoyed it, although he said it didn't quite compare to the ones we've had on the islands. That's probably a tough standard for any restaurant to meet. What really stood out was the service. Even though this is more of a casual, fast-food-style spot, they checked on us several times and made sure we had everything we needed. That level of attention definitely didn't go unnoticed. 100/10 recommend. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Vegas. read more

This is one of the original restaurants here on the Ninth Island, and the first of its three current locations. It provides authentic contemporary Hawaiian cuisine. Likewise for the people from Hawaii who make up most of its patrons, and comfortable island vibe. The Hawaiian-style reggae music played here is very good. For our most recent visit, on a Saturday night, we shared the Banana Pancakes and Adobo Fried Rice Omelet. Both are good, but they have competition from BabyStacks Cafe on these two items. Apparently, the staff was spread thin during our visit. We had to make multiple requests: to wipe down our table after the previous customers; for an extra plate; for a knife; for condiments. The floor needed sweeping; counters needed wiping. I prefer the full-service experience at other local Hawaiian restaurants, like BabyStacks or Zippy's. Not to mention, aesthetics. This original location has the same address and design as I always remember from the past two decades. Unfortunately, it now appears run down, with aging construction and cosmetic blemishes throughout. The order counter still has the COVID-era plastic shield. There restaurant is devoid of artwork or decor. It is dimly lit at night. By comparison, the UNLV location is newer and better maintained. The bar was closed for renovation during our visit. Hopefully, they will follow suit with the restaurant. read more

Very convenient location to my friends home. Great Island vibe from music and decor to ambience, friendly service...but they don't tell you there's no table service. You have to go up to the cash register to order. So once reviewing the menu, I got the chicken teriyaki, a friend got the Kalbi plate, other friend got the pork lau lau and Kalua pig plate. My family and I visited Vegas for the weekend and we were craving Hawaiian food. The place was recommended to me so decided to check it out. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Not too far from the Vegas strip, about 10 mins. Right when you walk in, you'll see the menu displayed and its order first then sit type of restaurant. Prices were decent. There was plenty of seating with only one group besides mine. The food came out fairly quickly and served really hot, especially the lumpia. I ordered the kalbi short ribs. Comes with two scoops of rice and your choice of kimchi or mac salad. I went with the mac salad and it was ok. To be honest, L&L's was better. The short ribs weren't bad. They weren't very meaty and flavor was good. Large chain Hawaiian food was better actually. We also had the chicken curry and katsu combo. Comes with the two side choices as well. Not too bad. Flavor was there, but I've head better. The lumpia came out piping hot. It was good, but nothing beats my mom's lumpia haha. All in all, it's not bad if you're hungry and looking for Hawaiian food not too far from the strip. Service was friendly and the place was clean. Hello Yelpers, My wife was craving the kalbi ribs at Aloha Kitchen, so after stopping across the street at the new "H" Mart, we decided to give it a try. It had been over 10 years since our last visit. The dining area has changed a bit, and there's now plexiglass where you place your order--likely something left over from the COVID era. We shared the Kalbi plate, which comes with two scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad. The portions of rice seemed a bit smaller than we remembered. Starting with the mac salad--it was disappointing. It had very little flavor and a slightly sour aftertaste, so we both chose not to eat it. As for the Kalbi, my wife really enjoyed it and said it tasted just like she remember. It was a no for me, sorry. For Kalbi, there's other places around town that'll put a smile on your face, albeit for a few more bucks. It's been over a decade since I last had it here, and it didn't quite match what I remembered. We also ordered a drink, bringing our total to just over $27. There were plenty of other customers who seemed to be enjoying their meals. No worries for parking, service is friendly and the facilities are clean. read more

Was introduced to Aloha Kitchen from a friend of mine on a recent visit to Vegas, and I gotta say this place ROCKS! The location I went to is in Sahara Decatur Plaza, one of the gazillion neo-strip malls in Vegas. The interior is self-explanatory: Just make your order at the counter as you walk in the front door, then grab a seat in one of the booths to the left. My buddy turned me on to the Adobo Fried Rice Omelette. WOW! I'm going to order this every single time I visit! This is one of the most filling, most satisfying meals I've ever eaten. There's definitely enough to take home, or just share with friends at the restaurant. There's also a bar through the doors inside to the far left of the counter as you walk in (you can also enter the bar from the outside). I didn't go in there, but it sounds like they have regular karaoke going on and everyone in there sounds like they're having big fun! I got the aloha mixed plate. Prices were reasonable, especially for the portions. I wished all places have some sort of mixed plate option. We checked out the karaoke room/bar. It was dead, probably because it was a Wednesday night. Got my aloha plate after 15 mins. Everything was good, I'm a side of sauce person, so next time I'll get it on the side. The fried chicken came 10 mins afterwards, there 3 huge thigh pieces! The texture reminded me of Popeyes, but not quite the flavor. Still good though. So lucky this is the only place that serves beef stew sauce as a side. REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD OF THE LAVA ROCK Best part food is always consistent !! After the Twice concert, I was looking for comfort food to fill up my stomach after avoiding paying stadium prices for food. We arrived here around 11 PM and there was a line almost out the door. From regular patrons to other concert goers, this place was a such a vibe. I was searching through Yelp but nothing really looked appetizing until I stumbled upon Late Night Bites. Everything on the preselected menu was $5 and I was pleasantly surprised with the portions. Even after a 15 minute drive back to our hotel, the food was still hot and the katsu maintained its crispy-ness. One big piece of super crispy fried chicken that comes with gravy, 2 scoop rice, bowl of chili, & either Mac salad or kimchi. The chili for real reminds me of when I had chili back during the hanabata days of elementary school. I also ordered the combo breakfast plate of Portuguese sausage & corned beef hash which came with 2 eggs cooked any style & a side of either white rice or tater tot's. I've tried other items on the menu like their Kalbi & Hawaiian BBQ. All good! Staff are friendly; they take care of you. Food are all delicious, large portioned, & very affordable especially right now with everything getting expensive. Aloha Kitchen has been in Vegas for a long time, & I always went during my broke UNLV days.
