The kimchi fried rice was a standout for my daughter -- flavorful without being overpowering, just the right balance. The stuffed French toast was tasty and satisfying without being too heavy. My husband loved the Sole Moco, and the portions did not disappoint. But the star of the show for me? The Da Hale pancake. It's a thin, buttery pancake that might sound simple -- but add a little coconut sauce and it becomes something special. Absolutely my favorite thing on the menu. A quick tip: if you're not big on heavy gravy, ask for it on the side when ordering any of the loco mocos. You'll thank yourself later. I came here on a weekend and they were pretty busy. The place is super chill and idk why but the floors looks cool. The service was a bit slow but they were soooooo nice. The food overall was unique and delicious. Da hale pancakes 8/10: I've never tried these crepe like pancakes before and honestly I prefer these over the original bc it feels lighter since the batter is crepe thinness. The only thing is that I wish it was more crispy on the outside or something bc that would make it a 10/10. The sauce/syrup was so good and that little fluff of whipped cream was a perfect ending. Adobo omelette 6/10: maybe it's because I don't rly know what adobo taste like but I did confirm w the server that it's suppose to be a bit sour/vinagary. The egg itself was nice but the taste of the dish was not for me. But again it's probably because I'm uncultured lol. Kailua pig 9.5/10 this was my favorite dish! Super delish and the meat wasn't dry. I may also be biased bc I just love a good kalua pig! Overall the service was so nice although it can be slow. And the food was pretty good. The amount of aloha that is experienced and expressed during a single visit to this restaurant is phenomenal. The very sweet. Auntie Sandra was the one who waited on us. We were a group of four. We ordered a couple different breakfast items, but ultimately ended up sharing everything with one another. All of the flavors were truly like some that we had experienced on previous trips back in the 808. I really love that they have so many different options for kids meals. My kiddo went with something very simple and very basic but still, to have the options and the items available was great. They really enjoyed the crispy edges on the pancakes. I really liked the gravy on the loco moco. But better than the food was the service. Auntie was so sweet. She was so chatty. My husband explained to her how it was that we came to find this restaurant. Auntie started talking about the different visitors that they've had who have featured them on social media once my husband blurted out (some guy's) name from Instagram that he saw a video of having dined here. Really, no matter. Everything was very good. Food prices were reasonable. But again, the one thing that really made the entire experience was the friendly conversation, the references that were made of experiences shared. It was just a really fun time and a casual setting. Another thing that was cool, there's a little stage at the very front of the restaurant. They do have live entertainment from time to time. The floor looks like lava amazing painting on the wall of what I'm assuming is a Hawaiian goddess with fire around her. Authentic Hawaiian culture no doubt. Staff is very friendly and the food is out of this world. By far the best pancake I've ever had .I highly recommend the Da Hale pancake. Crispy crêpe style pancake with a coconut syrup. I'm not a big coconut guy but it's not too overpowering and is actually a great compliment. I think I prefer it with the maple syrup but if you really want to take it to another level have your partner order the chunky monkey and put some of that peanut butter sauce on them The scrambled eggs were really well prepared. Drove passed this place so many times and one do the Vegas foodie influencer went there so decided to check it out. So glad to try them and it won't be our last. Everything we ordered was amazing and super tasty. Tried their pancake sampler, momona, and Kimchi fried rice. Momona has spam, burger steak, and corned beef hash pair with rice. Smothered with gravy and top with your choice of eggs. The burger steak was one of the best and the gravy was delicious. Pancakes were amazing too had little crispy edges while remaining puffy. This 9th Island restaurant comes close to what you would expect in the true Hawaiian Islands, both in terms of cuisine and service. Unfortunately, this also comes with no vegan or healthy options on the menu. For breakfast we tried the Chocolate Haupia Pancakes and a side of Adobo Fried Rice. I prefer the adobo fried rice when it is in the form of an omelet burrito at places like Aloha Kitchen and BabyStacks Cafe. They are proud of their signature Da Hale Pancake, which they gave us a free sample of. Yes, these were tasty as advertised, though oily. During our visit on a weekday morning, they streamed a country music channel, rather than Hawaiian music as would be expected. The owners and staff are from Hawaii, which is reflected in the hospitality of the service we received. I do look forward to returning for the weekly lineups of live Hawaiian music. I promise service is everything in Da Hale. We ordered the Adobo fried rice omelette and the sole moco, which we gave them a solid 10! They were so amazing we began talking about returning to eat here as soon as we took our first bites! We also decided to try their signature Da Hale pancakes with coconut syrup, and they were absolutely delicious! We flew in from San Francisco to try it and I'm so sorry the hype was not all there! Maybe it was an off day I don't know, all I know is that my husband and I were very disappointed! Let me tell you something my Nese and my sister ordered the Sole Moco and they seemed to like that, my husband ordered the pastele moco and he said it was good, but nothing to fly in for! I ordered the original Loco Moko with hamburger and let me tell you if I were to want to crack somebody's head open, I would throw that hamburger patty at their head because it was so hard I couldn't cut it. It was no good. The only good thing about that dish was the gravy the seasoning of the very hard hamburger and the rice other than that, I would never order that again! I didn't even think to return it because we were so distracted talking and looking at the dirty dishes on the table next to us that stayed there from the time we walked in until right before we left, and the very loud table on the other side of the Restaurant, we could hear every single conversation! Now I do have one good thing to say about this Restaurant, was our server, while she wasn't always checking on us, we noticed that she was checking on all the tables that were taken and that she was the only one working the floor when there were actually four women behind the counter and also a man! She checked on us as often as she could and we appreciated that and always with a smile! The other things that I would only order if I were to go back are the Sāmoan pagikeke and the Da Hale pancakes we got in the beginning those were yummy, they were like crêpe pancakes, but so delicious! The question is will we go back? That's a strong no but in the event, somebody dragged me there. Those last two items are the only ones that I would order. I'm so sorry. My husband insisted continuously for 3 days for us to try this place because of the hype of Brandon! Again, it could've been an off day but sadly, we were very disappointed! Oh, I forgot to mention that we were created by two lovely women seated quickly and then we waited for about 35 minutes for our food! And there were two cooks we saw them!
