    Shave Ice

This was travel day back to the mainland after a wonderful stay in Maui. We had time to kill between having to check out from our lodging and catching our flight. We stopped by the Napili Farmers Market and at the market was the Aloha Made Shave Ice food truck. During our stay I've tried shave ice a few times and for this visit I got half strawberry and half pineapple. It was so cold and so sweet. I got a large and in hindsight that was too much, but I finished it all while on the verge of brain freeze for most of it. Shave ice will be one of my great memories of Maui. The food truck person was very nice, she appreciated my patience and I enjoyed chatting with her for a couple of minutes. Behind the truck were a few tables, mostly in the shade, where I could relax and start on my final Hawaiian frozen treat.

Parking is easy, there are tables to sit at and eat, the owner is very nice, and the menu options are great! There are regular syrup options, ones with no artificial colors/dyes, and real fruit ones! I was also really happy to see this place had a lot of dairy free options, as my daughter has a dairy allergy! I highly recommend this place. :)

    Medium - so ono!!

Great service, lots of flavors and options for toppings if you are interested. We had mochi added. Not stingy with syrup or toppings, ice was super fluffy!Did not disappoint! We shared a medium. Stop by and show them some aloha, you will not be disappointed!

Passion fruit and dragon fruit, delicious!

We stopped here while staying at the Westin Kaanapali. It is just down the road in a food truck park. The shave ice was great! Definitely one of the best on the island!

It was a nice stop! We were swimming out by Mokuleia Bay and this was a great way to end the day.

Got a rainbow snow cone with barley any syrup. Supposed to be red, yellow and blue but most of it was just ice for $10

    Location with lots of parking.

Had a large POG Shave Ice with vanilla ice cream. I can't wait to go back and try the orange creamsicle. $13.

My friend and I visited and were surprised to see lots of options to pick from! My friend is Vegan and she was able to thankfully get some options for herself as well, but I think for any shave ice lover, you're bound to find a flavor to love! - Miguel Morales Photography

Tried shave fruit and a shaved ice... both good. The fruit was shave in a way I thought it was like a sorbet. The topping was a puree - very good.

    Bingsu is Korean

I really wanted to like this place as it's close to home, but my wife had a lot of bad things to say about it as a Chinese-American. They claimed Bingsu as a Taiwanese item but Bingsu is not Chinese or Taiwanese. It is Korean. Their shave ice is shaved milk, which is Korean. Toppings were not fresh, but more like purées. Lots of sugary toppings that don't really mix well with shave ice. Very sweet. Overall, we didn't really like the "Bingsu" but the regular Hawaiian shave ice was good. Located in a food truck lot with other food trucks.

This place has the best specialty shaved ice I have ever had! Her flavor pairings are out of this world and so tasty. I love the passion fruit cream she makes as a topping. I tried the passion colada fruit shave; it was refreshing and light. The lilikoi bingsu was delicious, but my favorite was "The Mahalo." I never had anything like it. I can't eat dairy, so this was the perfect truck for me. Heather, who owns the truck, was kind and uber-friendly. Excellent customer service. I can't wait to come back to the island and try the other flavors. It's a good place for people-watching. I wish her the best of luck on her new business.

I was dying to try the coconut maple syrup and was not disappointed. The pancakes were soft fluffy, but the syrup put it over the top . I was able to steal a bite of our son's Mac & Nut Pancakes that was a mouthful of sweetness.we were fortunate to have some other family members staying up that way so we told them to get in line when we were a half hour away and the timing was perfect as soon as we got there, we bypass the line and they were just being seated. We had a view of Napili Beach so maybe our next trip will stay up this way because we've always stayed in Kihei. SERVICE: The pancakes were delivered within minutes and the server had jokes. The staff was very friendly except for one . AMBIANCE: The place was very loud and cramped !

We liked the fried rice more than the pancake. The pancake was massive and a lot more than we needed or wanted and after a second day working on it we gave up. The whipped cream disappeared though! We also didn't notice any banana in it either. The fried rice was very good. rice was a tad soggy but the half portion was perfect for 2. It gave the fried rice from nearby Joey's a run for its money but I'd still give the edge to Joey's. Service is great and friendly for the takeout. They include a charge 3% service fee for takeout so whatever you add is additional.

Every time I visit Maui, I have to get some shaved ice. I only purchase and want shaved ice only…read morein Hawaii. Not anywhere else. LOL. I think shaved ice is a part of the Hawaiian experience. You put in your order at the kiosk. The ordering line wasn't too long. After you put in your order, there's one person working to get the orders out. They have this big shaved ice machine, that is automative and shaved ice is ready for the person to shape the ice in the bowl, top it with syrup and serve it. It's a quicker concept, than the old shaved iced machines. The flavors I chose were Lychee and Guava. It was ok. The price of shaved ice has gotten more expensive, I thought. Not sure if it is worth it anymore. It's just syrup and ice.

Come to find out several key items were out. Can not oder a single item even though I tried. Went back few days later, still no line but did not see "out of". Tried to order thru the self order pad but not successful. Asked for help from the one and only employee. Took 10 seconds of pause before acknowledging the need for help. Like others have said, shaved ice had chunks of ice and not as creamy as Waikiki location. Definitely not coming back to this location. Management: read the reviews. Lot of complaints for lack of customer service.

If you're looking for a refreshing breakfast or snack after the beach, their açaí bowls are some of the best on the island. We tried two different bowls, and both were beautifully presented and loaded with fresh fruit. The açaí was perfectly blended and topped with sweet papaya, raspberries, toasted coconut, and a creamy scoop of frozen yogurt. The other bowl was topped with fresh bananas, strawberries, and blueberries, little bit of honey to add some sweetness, making it light and refreshing. Everything was made fresh, the portions were generous, and the presentation was appreciated--even decorated with fresh orchid flowers. One of the best parts is that you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it. They also offer flavorful coffee drinks that pair perfectly with breakfast. It's a walk-up counter where you order first, and there's plenty of indoor seating to relax and enjoy your meal. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. For food I had the pesto chicken sandwich and it was super good and was a very nice portion. Overall I would come back again but I am not sure if it was completely worth the hype/wait.
