During my recent trip to Maui I decided to have shaved ice 3 times and this was by far the best spot. Significantly better than some other shaved ices spots near by. The ice was soft and fresh. The flavors tasted very natural and didn't taste too sweet or artificial. They also had several flavors that I've never seen at any other shaved ice spot. Overall a great experience. Solid basic choice for shave ice if you cannot travel away from the area. Located in a strip center conveniently located near hotel/resort row it is a hot spot for tourists looking for good eats close. The shave ice was good enough. The flavors were basic, but solid. The service was just ok. 2 Aunties behind the counter did their job. Not a lot of small talk. Got your order, in and out. If you didn't know better or just needed the craving filled, fine-I get it. I'm not usually a person who gives out one star ratings unless it's truly bad. This visit qualifies for that We walked in at 9 pm and the woman behind the counter was not giving any kind of friendly vibes. Prices are not posted Two cups were 15 and some change. They are very small for the price. We also realized after ordering that there was not any toppings available. A first for me and I eat a lot of shave ice!!! The syrups are clearly not made fresh as we watched them pour them onto the ice. She also did not put enough syrup on the ice to even reach the bottom of the cup. So disappointing! As we sat in the car and ate our sad ice they turned the open sign off even with more customers coming in. It was 9:24. Small family owned store . Very friendly people to work with . It has that local appeal . Some people may not like it we loved it . Actually the whole island has that appeal. Worst shave ice i've ever had and my family agreed. Well hold on, not the worst. It is a step above the snoopy snow cone machine. The shave ice is not soft at all. Plastic spoon could not cut through it. Just a hard chunk of ice and skimpy on the flavors so mostly just crunching on ice cubes. Would definitely check out this mom pop shop. The shaved ice flavors are great with a good selection making it easy to choose, and you don't have to pick between a 100. The shaved ice itself is fluffy and soft and they have optional condensed milk (highly suggest adding it on). I'm not sure what flavor icecream is at the bottom but I wish I could have a full cone of that. This shaved ice spot happens to be right by our hotel and I was craving some, so decided to stop in! It was pretty busy; there were three parties ahead of us in line. The store had zero air flow inside. It was so warm. They really need to get at least a fan. All of the shaved ice creations are made to order. There's an old school style shaver and only one size option for each order. I chose a combo of the coconut syrup and passion fruit. It was really good! The ice was a bit hard to break down and messy, so I don't recommend eating in the car. They do have a couple of seating areas outside. The owners were really nice and were impressed my daughter could speak tagalog to them (I couldn't, shame, I know...). When we were staying in Kaanapali, this was a shaved ice place that was across the street from our hotel. We were here for a few days and came to this place at least once a day, but usually 2-3 times because my dad really liked their shaved ice. On our trip, we island hopped but this place still reigned as our favorite even against the bigger named shaved ice establishments. This is a small mom and pop shop and you can see in my pics the 2 ladies were making each order while the line was out the line. My favorite was the tigers blood with condensed milk to top. This place is located really close to our hotel and the owners were actually the people who made the shaved ice. I asked them to make me whatever they felt was delicious and tasted great and boy did it come out really tasty! This place is definitely an order and walk somewhere else to enjoy your shaved ice. There's nothing special about the ambience, but they do have a little gift shop area where you could buy gifts. Must try!! We were greeted right away by an elderly couple. We got two shaved ice cups with ice cream on the bottom and condensed milk on the top. You can get up to three flavors. My friend got cherry, mango and piña colada. I got lychee and passion fruit. It was SO good! Paid $21 for both. It was $2 extra for ice cream and $.50 extra for condensed milk but it was worth it.
