We chose two flavors: lychee & coconut. It was so good! We met the owner, Thomas. He was very nice. We mentioned that it was our 42nd-year anniversary & gave us a $2.00 off coupon for next time, & some stickers (for our grandkids, of course)! We enjoyed the beach-front sitting, gazing at the ocean, & enjoyed eating the shave ice under the beautiful sunshine that only Maui could offer on a "wintery-January" weather. This is located by the pool at the Hyatt Regency, which was very convenient since I was staying there. What's not so convenient is they don't take room charges, so make sure you bring your credit card or your phone with Apple Pay with you when you go to the pool/beach. The man working there was very friendly but with only one person working, it could take a while since he has to take payment and then make each one, one at a time. It's all outside so when it's hot out they melt fast, especially since the ice is so fine and fluffy. Flavors are great because they are all natural but some of the flavors like guava are too faint and don't pair well with stronger flavors like passion fruit or calamansi. It's nice they put a tiny bit of real fruit (pineapple in my case) on top, and drizzle with honey and coconut cream if you want it. Adding ice cream adds an extra $3.50, which I didn't do because $9.50 for ice is expensive enough. The shave ice was so good, I wanted to get a second one but I would've felt guilty if I spent $20 on myself to have ice with some fruit syrup poured on top in a span of ten minutes since you have to eat it quickly before it melts. read more
