Lot is small. Parking is limited and markings on some spaces are confusing. Menu has interesting items and some are quite different from other places. Sometime we will try the curry pizza. The big draw for us was the Hawaiian shaved ice.
They have outdone themselves in making a malasada that holds its freshness beyond the day it is made. Even Leonard's bakery couldn't accomplish that, and they are the original place in Hawaii for hot malasadas! After a few hours, the consistency is lost, whereas the malasadas from Aloha Platez holds up nicely. I usually buy a half dozen for me and my husband to take home. This way we have a nice treat three days in a row. We love the dobash and Haupia filled ones rolled in sugar. Delicious! They even have malasada french toast too with coconut and Ube cream! Pure decadence is what describes this dish the most.

Came here for some garlic shrimp (bomb), aloha chicken (a little dry) some fish jun (a little dry as well but it's mahi they use here) and a breakfast burrito (really big but lots of rice) Being a fan of auntie mailes and eating everything local this was definitely a hit. I wouldn't say the food totally delivered but the service and the hawaiian spirit lives on here. We came on a Sunday and they had a live duo here. It was nice, would do it again soon. One thing we wished we had done was pay in advance for the malasadas. Apparently we didn't and the line grew longer during lunch. So we will have to try the pizza and the malasadas another weekend. They have breakfast all day long so I definitely will partake in some of that the next time we're here. Parking is a little bit of a pain but parking at Rascals was okay since they closed.

First of all the service is wonderful, from the register when you order to when you sit down and eat. Everyone is so nice and attentive; constantly making sure you're good and the food is good. The food itself was also really good. I tried the chicken which was juicy, garlicky and so tasty. Then the meat jun was also so good and cooked perfectly. The poke was so fresh and they gave really big pieces. Lastly, the malasada was cooked fresh then brought straight to our table. It was so fluffy and soft! There's also a lot of seating and a huge TV so it's a nice little spot to eat dinner while watching the game. There's also a lot of parking but note to watch out for the signs cause some parking is specifically designated for apartment parking only. Overall great experience and will definitely be coming back :)
Prior to Easter Sunday, I've only had their take out and my dine in experience was positive! The minute we stepped in, we were welcomed in by Junko and Scott helped us with our order. We had their Garlic Shrimp and Teri Beef which were both delicious! They are generous with their two scoops of white rice and tasty mac salad. The shrimp had a good crunch! The beef was tender! We also ordered a half a dozen of their sugar malasadas. Scott helped us out with timing our order so everything was fresh! There was plenty of free parking available. The place is spacious, good for groups! When we miss Hawaii, we know where to get our fill!

The Kalua Pie BBQ Pork is absolutely delicious! I love the combination of red onion, cilantro, and mango, it pairs perfectly with the pork and had me in a food coma as soon as I got home. My husband and I also shared the Fish Jun Grilled Mahi with a thin egg batter. The fish was slightly dry, and I think a bit more egg batter might have helped. I still haven't found a place in LA that does fish or meat jun as well as in Hawaii. That said, the pizza here is definitely the star, you don't want to miss it. I'm excited to come back and try their breakfast items, and when the weather warms up, I'm definitely getting their shaved ice!
Meat jun was even better today! I like that they slice it up. The meat was so tender and the vinegar sauce was perfect! I like the little serving of Kim Chee. I don't remember that last time
Great place! That a lot of people don't know about, the local fans and family. This is how we come to find out about it. It is very Hawaiin meaning Aloha and Hana. They have pretty much everything that you can get in Oahu, all the favs. Plus they have pizza that we definitely want to try next time. All the ingredients are island based with their specialties. Great desserts too! We love the atmosphere and friendly service. They do have indoor and outdoor dining. Although it gets cold out doors at night. Enjoy! Tip: they do close early at nights I think at 8:30 sharp. So get there with plenty of time to enjoy.
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Was craving Hawaiian food and some malasadas. This place definitely hit the spot. We ordered the garlic shrimp plate, the teri beef plate and a half dozen regular sugar malasadas. Everything was fire. The staff was super friendly, welcoming with big side of aloha. The ambiance felt like a big family get together with uncles playing live Hawaiian music. They also had a few big screen TVs showing the dodger game which was definitely a bonus. I for sure will be craving this place and will be coming back to Gardena real soon. Aloha!
Came here for shave ice. I ordered the Blue Hawaiian and added condensed milk and fresh strawberries to it. The wife ordered the Hawaiian Punch with mangos added to it. At the recommendation of the worker there, we also ordered a couple of plain malassadas. I loved my Blue Hawaiian shave ice. The ice was pleasantly smooth like I was eating a nice bowl of bing su. I tasted my wife's shave ice and liked it as well. The malassadas, however, were just okay. They were warm and freshly made, but they tasted to me like dinner rolls dusted with sugar. Nothing to get hyped about. That being said, I'm coming back here for the shave ice for sure. It's as good as I've had outside of Hawaii.
My friends and I have made this our favorite stop on our way to SoFi stadium before the games. Conveniently located just off the 91 with plenty of space for our group. Always quick, delicious and incredibly warm Aloha spirit. I don't ever order chicken outside but Mako recommended it so I tried it, it'll surprise you, trust! Aloha Platez is one of those places you go for good dependable food but always walk away meeting new friends. Oh and those Malasadas are amazing. I'm not a desert person but I have to say their dough is light and bouncy, almost mochi level. It's better than in Waikiki IMO. Simple but perfect, worth the try. I like it plain bc the dough is the best part.

The pizzas were solid overall. The crust had good structure and flavor, not too thick or thin, and held up well while eating. The Kamehameha was a loaded combo-style option with plenty of veggies, and the Sriracha Chicken had good balance without being overly spicy. Both are easy to customize depending on your preferences (like removing olives or cilantro). We ordered to-go, and the online ordering process was quick and straightforward. Service was friendly and everything was ready on time. Inside, the atmosphere felt like a casual neighborhood pizza spot -- TVs playing the game and groups enjoying food and cheering on their teams. Aloha Platez is different from Auntie Maile's Restaurant, other than serving favorites like the garlic shrimp and Kailua pork, so come expecting a different dining experience. There's plenty of indoor seating plus a nice patio, and my kids enjoyed watching sports on the TVs while we ate. The cheese pizza was a hit with them, and the bacon fried rice breakfast burrito was huge and easily shareable. My favorite was the ube pancakes--they were fluffy and delicious. We ended our meal with Sunset Shave Ice, which has ice cream in the middle and comes topped with mochi and fresh fruit. Don't skip the made-to-order malasadas! They're light, airy, and served fresh. There are only a few places in the South Bay that sell malasadas, and these are my favorite. This was our second visit in a month, which says everything. We love bringing the family here and will definitely keep coming back. read more

This place is in what I like to call a foodie corner, and apartments basically in the same driveway. When you enter this place, it's warm and welcoming! They had lots of cool things to purchase besides food! We ordered a lot, let's get into it. Hawaiian Freeze: This was super refreshing, and you can put different flavors in it. Sake Freeze: A fun alcoholic version of the Hawaiian Freeze. This was also refreshing. Local Deluxe (Spam & Portuguese Sausage): I upgraded the rice to Bacon Fried Rice, no regrets at all. Everything was fried perfectly, my Over-Medium Egg was exactly the way I love it. That Bacon Fried Rice just made this dish so much better! Unlimited Toppings Pizza: Basically got the important meats, but added all the veggies, nothing overpowered anything else. It was amazing! Ikaika: Oh, if you like your meat lovers pizza, look no further than this! Daily Specials: Chicken Katsu Curry: This was amazing, also adding the Bacon Fried Rice just gave it so much extra flavor. Would totally do it again! Curry Pizza: Oh, crispy cheese, curry, and stewed veggies, would totally order it again. Hands down one of my favorite spots for Hawaiian food. Omg finally a place with Hawaiian pancakes! I've literally been craving these since my trip to Maui. We got the macadamia coconut pancakes, the ube pancakes, and the haupia malasadas. All were amazing and so happy we don't have to drive out of the South Bay for some pancakes. read more

Aloha place is a must have for your pizza needs. They have some of the best pizza in Gardena. Not to mention they also have shaved ice for those super hot southern california days! Located on Artesia it has a decent sized indoor eating space as well as a small outdoor space. Everyone here was super friendly! Not only do they have pizza and shaved ice, but they also have a lot of hawaiian snacks you gotta try and plus they also offer beer too (which was a super plus plus for me *wink wink*). We opted for the not so hawaiian pizza, but their bbq chicken is also a must try! TL;DR: Good pizza, awesome shaved ice and super cold beer, very good. read more
If I could give Aloha Platez 6-stars, I would. The people that work here are so unbelievably friendly; it makes the experience worthwhile. The ambience is really family friendly and the inside is really clean. They open earlier at 8am, so it's super helpful for people that have kids that wake up super early. We got the breakfast burrito and the macadamia nut pancakes and both were really good. The breakfast burrito is a little different with the Portuguese sausage but I'm a fan. The pancakes were the star of the show though. The cream topping that comes with the pancake is absolutely delicious. I can't speak more highly of the staff that work here. Upon arrival it was loud as they had live music! If you are into that this is your place on Sundays ( don't quote me) there wasn't any space inside to eat our shaved ice so we ordered it to go. Let me start by saying, I love this place! I've been craving Hawaiian food and this place hit all the spots. We ventured here early Sunday morning to have breakfast and I'm so happy we did! And don't be fooled by the name because they have more than pizza and shave ice. We ordered the premium pancakes topped with cream and bits of macadamia nuts which were just the perfect fluffy texture, sweetness and crunch. We've tried so many pancakes in trendy brunch places but have finally found the best one here in this little humble place! We also shared the Portuguese sausage, spam, eggs & rice and honestly this simple dish was simply amazing. Topped off with our coffees (free refills) and freshly baked malasadas and I was in foodie heaven! The staff were also super friendly and provided excellent service. They make you feel like family! And bonus tip: We were told there's live music that start at 11am (not sure if it's every Sunday) but we left before it started, but so cool that they have that! If you are craving a real Hawaiian plate lunch you MUST go to Aloha Pizza & Shave Ice. The staff of course showed aloha to all who entered. Today is Sunday and there was live music and if you're lucky a Hula dancer might pop up and dance. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Laid back and homey atmosphere. Tons of "onolicious" (Ono is good in Hawaiian) breakfast and lunch options. Along with fantastic homemade desserts and several favorite island style drinks. I had the Kalua pork plate lunch, Hawaiian style iced tea, I was so full but still took a Haupia slice and sugar malasadas to go. Great for couples to families and to groups. Prices are reasonable and very nice portions. Definitely will be back! read more

FINALLY found a place on Mainland that does a FIRE Mahi Jun!!! Perfectly prepared w/ proper dipping sauce & tasty Kimchee. I'm literally "hooked!" Always delivers on filling me for lunch and always delivers on flavor. I've had the cheese bread and the pizza. The kamehameha is my go to specialty pizza. This is not how you run a business when a customer leaves unhappy. We had ordered 6 malasadas, and returned home to only find 4 malasadas in our bag. We made the drive back just to get the other two they didn't give us. "Sorry" was not enough to make up for the wasted time and gas over these malasadas. As for the malasadas, we got filled, glazed, and regular. The filled ones are soggy. The regular ones aren't fresh. When we returned to get the two they forgot, I saw them pulling premade malasadas out of a box. That's definitely not "fresh malasadas". That explains the malasadas not being crispy or hot. They're also more dense and doughy than light and airy. Unlike the other pictures, our pineapple bbq sauce wings did not come topped with pineapple. read more

I'm so glad I finally got a chance to stop into Aloha Platez which up until a few months had a different name, Aloha Pizza, so if that's what you're familiar with this is it. You walk into an open and airy space that's crowded in the best way possible, with boxes of goods stacked, merchandise for purchase on the counter and on a wall, and colorful decor; a welcoming place. Immediately you're welcome with a friendly "hello". Since this was our first time visiting I had checked out the menu ahead of time and decided that my friend and I were going to share a pizza and wings. Yes, you can order a "traditional" pizza but you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not trying one of their Aloha Signature Pies; we got the Da'Pele Pizza (cheese, pepperoni, Portuguese sausage, bacon, jalapeños, and pineapple), BBQ pineapple wings, and two malasadas for after (one coconut, one guava). Everything was exceptional! The pizza was indeed sweet and savory (one of my favorite flavor combos). The dough was great, not too chewy, but not stiff. I like my wings a bit well done (so that's how I'll order them next time) and Aloha makes theirs on the chewy side (you know, where the skin has that nice layer of texture to it) the sauce and the pineapple pieces really made these a treat. when we were finally done eating it was malasada time! The filling isn't cream based but jello based, no complaints from us and we can't wait to come back. Aloha Platez sells lunch plates and breakfast so there's a meal for you no matter your craving! The staff was super friendly. You order at the counter, you're given a table number and your food is brought out to you. As you're eating various members come around to ask how you're doing, if you need anything, a refill on your drink. My favorite pizza style is thin crust with pepperoni and pineapple and while I know I could order that here I'm happy that there's a pizza place in Gardena that's doing something "different" with flavors.
