Fresh and made to order. Friendly staff who was very detail oriented asked if I needed a for or chopstick and offered ginger shoyu and wasabi. Convenient parking right out front. This is my new fave lunch spot. I got two California maki and two California hand rolls all under $20.

Lots of food for the price. Fast and nice service. Great for a quick lunch. Would definitely buy again

This is probably my favorite take-out sushi place in this part of town, and I live super close to it. I've lived in the area for over five years now, but didn't know about this spot, nor would I have sought it out, but a friend of mine took out from here for dinner and shared with me. She got the dynamite roll, which is a shrimp tempura roll topped with spicy tuna and a spicy hot sauce. It was stellar! I decided to take out from here prior to a beach day and got the dynamite roll, rainbow roll, spicy tuna, natto, and vegetable hand roll and cucumber maki. I am only knocking down to four stars because I was less impressed with the food this time - the fish just seemed more obviously "previously" frozen (which of course I already knew given the prices), but we all enjoyed our sushi nonetheless. There is a huge menu so I'm looking forward to trying different items and it's nice to know I can get decent take out sushi so quick and close to my house. I'm looking forward to self soothing with sushi when I have a hard day and want yummy food that is quick, convenient, and delicious. What with it being sushi, it will definitely feel like a splurge without breaking the bank!

Support small local businesses! This aloha sushi location offers a large menu with generous portions, fresh tasty sushi, and very reasonable prices! The workers are kind to answer any questions and accept any modifications if needed. My family and I love their rolls- tuna, spam, philly, tamago, and more!! My fave is definitely the dynamite maki, which is a tempura rolled topped with spicy ahi and sweet chili sauce. They don't skimp out on the filling on their hand rolls! Located right next to the 711 on Nuuanu and has its own parking lot and some outdoor seating. Check them out for your sushi cravings!!

Great spot I discovered yesterday while I was in town. The prices are really good compared to most sushi places I've been to & the owners greeted me weight away & were very polite. I was able to get a bento and a musubi for $13 and it was pretty good. I'll definitely be coming back in the future & I highly recommend.

I placed a take out order here, and placing it was quick. They didn't ask for card or anything like that. Name wasn't needed also. When I got in, parking was super easy to get. It's a small shared parking lot with Aloha Sushi being at the bottom under the stairs. Cute little place, with the entrance & register being right there. Just one table avail inside & a table right outside, so not a place for dine in. The price was a bit pricey. I paid $6 something for 2 spicy ahi rolls. They only take care for $7 & up. The lady didn't greet or smile, just asked what I order. Had to wait a few mins for my order, so maybe a total time of 10 mins from my call in. Anyway, got the food, & it looked good. It was kind of disappointing because the spicy ahi roll was super plain. Just the ahi & spice. No cucumbers or anything. I was surprised because the price of it was too much for what I received. Ahi you could tell wasn't like fresh, it was prob pre frozen & was diced into cubes. I probably wouldn't have stopped by here if work didn't have me close by for a training. Anyway, it's a 4 stars for me, as I wish the sushi roll was at least a little more pleasant lol.

Their food gave me FOOD POISONING. Specifically, the crunch don. Don't come here. I ate it at the store and I had a sore stomach moments later. Throughout the day the pain only got worse. I experienced diarrhea, fever, stomach pain, and chills.

Nice ratio of crab, cucumber and avocado! I could taste all 3 equally. Super fat roll filled me up!

I'm going to call it. Aloha sushi has the best handrolls out of all the fast food "grab and go" places. Way better than 7/11 (no doubt!), and Kozo sushi. Most other places' handrolls are skinnier than Aloha sushi, with less ingredients. I ate a California roll at Kozo the day before I ordered the same roll at Aloha so I really feel like I can give them a solid comparison. Kozo's sushi rice was colder, making it seem less fresh. The avocado was non-existent. You might as well order a crab roll there. The sushi roll was thin, and after eating 2 rolls from Kozo, I was still hungry. Aloha sushi's California roll comes correct! It was stuffed so full of crab, avocado and cucumber, the seaweed wrapper busted at the seam! I could really taste all of the ingredients together. The rice was still warm and delicious. The roll was prepared super fast and the lady at the counter was very nice. She even gave me 2 napkins (I guess she could tell I would burst my roll and get sushi all over myself). Location is convenient, on Nuuanu avenue in a quiet little building with plenty of parking. I also saw burgers on the menu!

Really love coming to this location because service is always fast and friendly. Parking is always available. Prices are reasonable. Quality and quantity are decent. Please see pics.

Love their maki rolls! Their maki rolls are made with a generous amount of ingredients and taste. I ordered a cali, egg, tuna, and shrimp tempura maki and they were all delicious. The shop is small but very clean. They also have some tables outside for customers. I had no problem with parking in their parking lot at night.

They have a pretty wide selection of different items to choose from. My favorite is the dynamite roll and the crunch don. The spicy ahi sauce is delicious.

the very tasty chicken and beef donburi!

A friend recommended we try this place for a late lunch since its kind of in our neighborhood, needless to say I was just a little hesitant with the reviews being either love it or loathe it. The owner was very nice as was her daughter who was doing homework. Of course they have all the essentials you would expect from a typical take-out sushi place like this with the exception of a number of Korean bowls and they serve burgers and fries lol. This has to be the only place that does this, and I will try it later. My friend and I shared a chicken and beef donburi and we each got our own order of the spicy nigiri (3 ct. per order). The chicken and beef don was really good no kidding and the portion was enough for two people and I can eat a lot. The chicken had a char and glaze to it and it was really soft, the beef was tender and flavorful and came with grilled onions. It was just chicken and beef over rice with a little furikaki but it had such great flavor, I was very impressed. The spicy ahi nigiri honestly reminded me of the spicy ahi nigiri at Sushi II in the Sam Sung Plaza. It was'nt the heavy mayonayze based creamy style of spicy ahi but rather a sharper spicier version that you find at more traditional sushi bars. The ahi tasted fresh and packed some heat that kind of snuck up on me. If their spicy ahi always tastes like this then this might just be my new favorite place. I took pics of what we ate and am certainly planning on coming back real soon.

Good selection + awesome cooking = ono food!!!

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. I would have ordered more but I was not very assertive and everyone wanted the iPad . Most of the nigiri orders were only one at the price point I am used to paying for two and I prefer the experience of sharing. My husband at the other table sampled more than I did. Deep fried Octopus and Toro, I had Yellow Tail and Carpacio, sample two rolls. Big surprise, the French fries were outstanding. The check worked out to about 50 pp. I think that was mostly my husband who enjoyed an array of dishes. As mentioned in other reviews, the bill stacks up quickly. Cold, clean, glistening with that dangerous little shimmer that tells you somebody in the supply chain actually cared. You can taste the quality immediately. The kind of quality that silences a table for half a second. And credit where it is due: almost everything I tried ranged from very good to genuinely great. But then the room begins speaking. And suddenly the spell breaks. The atmosphere feels like someone took a serious sushi counter, stripped away all sensuality, all elegance, all ritual, then dropped it inside a fluorescent island diner where exhausted civilians came to discuss parking validation and Costco receipts. It is the culinary equivalent of wearing a Rolex with orthopedic sneakers. The contradiction never stops humming beneath the experience. You sit there eating beautiful fish while surrounded by an energy that feels strangely... transactional. Heavy. Casual in the least flattering way. A room with no mystery. No seduction. No gravity. Like Zippy's accidentally wandered into the tuna trade and struck gold. And on an island like Oahu, where atmosphere matters almost as much as the fish itself that becomes a real problem. Because sushi is not merely consumption. It is theater.Restraint.Texture.Whispered precision. The best sushi spots on Oahu understand this instinctively. They understand that exceptional fish alone is not enough. You are paying for transportive experience. For mood. For elegance. For the feeling that the evening exists slightly outside ordinary life. At Mitch's, the fish reaches for Tokyo while the room drags you back toward a tired strip mall off the freeway. And then there's the crowd. Not evil people. Not rude people. Just an oddly low-rent energy orbiting genuinely premium seafood. The kind of room where one table is eating remarkable otoro while another feels one argument away from discussing used-car financing over soy sauce packets. It creates dissonance. Especially considering the prices. Because at those prices, you begin comparing the full experience not merely the fish quality and that is where Mitch's stumbles hard. There are multiple sushi spots across Oahu that equal or surpass the seafood while also delivering beauty, atmosphere, intimacy, and actual emotional texture. So what remains is this strange contradiction: Mitch's serves fish far above the dignity of its own ambience Which almost makes it fascinating. Would I be back - no . You can get same and better quality fish, much better vine, better part of town for the same Price.

There were standouts and overall we loved the meal. A local id gets the 10% service fee removed which was nice. Every piece of sushi was beautifully presented not overwhelming. You can really tell the chefs put a lot of thought into the balance of flavors and textures. One of my favorite bites was a sashimi piece topped with something that looked like finely grated cheese (not sure what it actually was), but it melted perfectly with the fish and added a really unique savory flavor. The chefs and staff also had a good sense of humor. At one point they served kinki fish and jokingly explained that the English translation sometimes gets called "idiot fish," which got everyone laughing at the counter. The omakase is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and overall experience made it very satisfying. If you're looking for a refined sushi experience with great service and beautifully crafted bites, this place is worth the splurge.
