Their HULI-HULI CHICKEN Plate is our favorite and if we cannot get in to dine I'll get it delivered via Uber-Eats. It's sweet honey-soy based bbq chicken thighs grilled & blackened and oh-so delicious! The plate comes with sticky rice and macaroni salad and can be swapped with other sides like coleslaw or two servings of one item. It's a comfortable lil place, not super fancy but definitely welcoming for a deliciously different style of grilled chicken! The entrees blew my mind and the portions were large. I also like how the macaroni salad was seasoned and although I'm not a cole slaw person I liked the pineapple! 4/5 was only because I thought with all that meat, 1 scoop of rice didn't feel like enough to me. Chicken Katsu: 5/5 Serving was HUGE. I also subbed the macaroni salad for a scoop of rice and it was totally worth! 3 scoops of rice with the fried chicken katsu and their katsu sauce. I feel like this is my most frequented spot that I haven't reviewed, so here goes. I was a big fan of the Indian Rocks location until a couple of bad experiences soured me and kept me away. Knowing that I still enjoy Hawaiian food, I started coming to this location and have not stopped since. The reason? Consistency. Every restaurant has its good days and off days, but I've yet to have a meal on one of their off days here and I'm always greeted with a smile and an Aloha! Even when my Huli Huli chicken comes with a little more char than I like, it's still delicious. Their Teriyaki Beef is always wonderfully tender and full of flavor that sometimes it's a hard decision between the two. Appears they are trying to do the right thing and have the right attitude. The food was okay, but not a standout, and unfortunately the overall ambiance hurt the experience. Despite having an exceptionally good health rating of 95 (A) the place simply felt dirty. Note that this rating was nearly a year ago, on September 13, 2024. I don't know why there isn't a more recent rating. Most noticeable was the floor that was super sticky. I actually had my shoe get stuck to the floor and my foot came out of the shoe. That suggests that things aren't clean. Looking at the ratings from January 2024 through September 20, 2024 it had lower health ratings which I believe are more accurate than this rating of nine months ago, which was a repeat after the first inspection was an 80. read more

For our drinks, we picked out a couple of Aloha Maids. Then, of course we couldn't start our meal off without ordering four of their divine looking spam musubi. Not only did they look amazing, but they were by far the best musubi we have had on mainland. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and sauced spam, upon pristinely cooked white rice, wrapped with delicious nori. Seriously heaven in a hand wrapped package! We then received the Kalbi Ribs and the Teri Beef Sandwich. Both of which were seriously phenomenal plates. The Kalbi Ribs were prepared flawlessly and the Teri Beef Sandwich was extremely flavorful. We definitely recommend adding the pineapple chutney onto the sandwich, it seriously adds an entirely different level of enjoyment! Their macaroni salad was righteous. No bitter aftertaste, like many macaroni salads that we have had. Super smooth and creamy. Same statements apply to their coleslaw.
