This place is good but lots of fried options for the sushi and not enough fresh raw fish in the specialty rolls. Overall, the rolls were good and very well done. If the adults had been present for dinner I would have sent back our order and asked for a refund. The place was being run by young people who were doing their best. I ordered a shaggy dog. It was shaggy all right. The tempura shrimp must have been 25-30 count shrimp. The cream cheese wasn't present. There was some sort of chow mein crispy noodles on the roll. It was horrible. What a great new find! Asian Fusion is among our favourites when it comes to 'types' of food, and we have been looking for some new places to try out. Green Pagoda did not disappoint! Well, I say that and you probably notice I only gave them 4 stars ~ the reason that I took one star off of what would have been a 5 star review, was because their sushi menu lacks enough variety compared to their competition. I don't think I've been to any thai / sushi / Korean / Japanese places at least in Tampa Bay, that didn't have a Tampa roll on the menu. Most of the 'fish' rolls were tuna, salmon and shrimp. Between that and the fact that they didn't believe me when I said that I wanted my food thai hot or the only reasons that I gave the rating I gave. The ambiance was top-notch, and the service was beyond great! Our server Austin was charismatic, helpful and very cheerful. He seemed to like his job and that is something sorely lacking at a lot of restaurants. He was very attentive, as were a couple of the other servers who came by to offer us freshwater and extra napkins. We jumped into our dishes so quickly that I forgot to take pictures until we were mostly done. We got a crab rangoon order to split for an appetizer and it was some of the best I've had anywhere. It actually had tons of crab in it in addition to the cream cheese which most places use more than anything else. I could also taste the scallion which was nice. Even the fold on the Rangoon was different than most places! I ordered the Sizzling Flank Steak (which was funnily under the fish section), with roasted veggies, and I ordered a side of white rice. The veggies could have been roasted a tad longer but all in all it was very fresh tasting and delicious. My better half ordered the Pork Belly Clay Pot, and devoured it. Before he did so I took a taste and it was scrumptious, and it's not something that I would normally enjoy as much as him. All said, I highly recommend this place and we are very much looking forward to returning for another meal VERY soon! The Thai food here is the best in the area! We stopped in for an early lunch and were the first ones here at 11:45 on a recent weekday. Quite large inside with a full service bar and plenty of tables + booths with granite tops. It is very pretty inside, well kept, and a bit fancier than some of its competitors. Drunken noodles were delicious and I loved the added broccoli and tofu. Next time, I will specify steamed tofu as the pan fried version texture is like eating a sponge! Large portion and plenty of leftovers for my hubby to enjoy for a treat. My friend enjoyed her stir fried curry which had a nice assortment of veggies including asparagus. I enjoyed my party so much I did not even realize how the long it took for a server to come until a friend pointed it out. However, we all knew what we wanted once they came. All food was delicious and huge portions. However they came out staggered. The Pad Se Ew had a very very strong taste of basil which isn't a usual for me when eating Pad Se Ew so it was unexpected but still good. Servers were friendly. I ended up at Green Pagoda last night for a catch-up date. I didn't really have an expectation going here, but the reviews on Yelp looked great. I ordered the crab Rangoon and the seared scallops for dinner and was absolutely blown away. The crab Rangoon might have been one of the top three I've ever had. The seared scallops came out with a medley of vegetables and a huge side of white rice. I will comment on the service as it being subpar. The guy who was waiting on us never gave us a name and came over several times, very quickly in the beginning, to try to get us to order food, but then never came back to check out on us after the food came to refill our waters. Crab Rangoon: 9.7 Seared scallops: 9.2 Scale system 10/10 would be what I want for my last meal 9.9-9.3 driving out of my way to get this 9.2-8.0 like the place and would go back 7.9-7.0 I would come here again if it were presented and don't have anything bad to say 6.9 and below - thanks but no thanks after trying once read more

Shaggy dog: tempura shrimp, cream cheese, cucumber, kani, masago, tempura flakes, spicy mayo. The Green Pagoda is a GEM. Called on a Saturday afternoon to see if they had any outdoor seating since it was a gorgeous day and at first they seemed a little hesitant to answer that, but then said yes, we can set it up for you. I am extremely grateful to this business because they went out of their way to we tip some outdoor seating for us! It looks like they have a section dedicated to outdoor seating but it either isn't used very often or they have chosen to shy away from setting it up for whatever reason. Either way, it was very kind of them to go out of their way and set it up. The service was 11/10 and every person that checked in on us was super friendly and caring. It felt like we were in a VIP section because they checked on us frequently and were always making sure everything was going well for us. As for the food...that clay pot chicken curry was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I kid you not, I ate every last bite and sipped every last drop of that broth. That is the kind of food you dream of. The seared beef roll and salmon nigiri were also phenomenal, but the chicken took the cake for sure. We got a few drinks to start -- my lychee martini was good but my friend's "cosmic dragon" was the best of the bunch. I got the pork dumplings and the crispy duck. The pork dumplings were good and there's a little bit of heat in the dumpling sauce which I liked. The duck itself was fantastic, I got it with the curry sauce which was amazing. It comes with a pretty big portion of vegetables: carrots, zucchini, green beans and asparagus. My only disappointment was that I think the vegetables were way undercooked for my liking but they still went down easy enough with a bit of that curry sauce. PARKING very little parking for the entire building. a handful of spaces in the lot in front of the building and more spaces behind the building. if there is an overflow, you MAY be able to park in the residential area but of course remember to be respectful OVERALL i've been here quite a few times now and my absolute favorite thing to get is their PORK BELLY CLAYPOT. i absolutely love that all the flavors of the pork belly and onions fuse into the rice at the bottom of the claypot. HOWEVER, because i always order this every time i go, i've noticed that sometimes the flavor intensity is inconsistent. the CRAB CAKE is not bad; they serve it with a thick slice of green tomato and a tasty sauce. definitely had better crab cakes in the area, but i would order it again if i was in the mood. the GRILLED LOBSTER RISOTTO is also a favorite of mine. they use a lot of cheese which i love so if you're looking for a drier risotto, this is NOT for you. this is one of the few quality sushi/asian fusion spots within proximity to a lot of corporate businesses. i would definitely continue to revisit this establishment and hope that they can work on the consistency of flavors (reason for only 4 stars). read more

The 2 of us shared an appetizer of pan-fried vegetable dumplings. In all honesty they were not the best. The dumplings were very mushy, like they had once been frozen, & then thawed & became soggy inside. The outsides were pan-fried well, but the insides of the dumplings were mushy, wet, & only mildly warm versus hot. We shared 2 entrees which were Pad Thai Chicken & Red Curry Chicken. Both those dishes were very good. The red curry chicken had a low level spicy heat to it which I liked. The sliced veggies in it though were again super mushy. The carrots & peppers disintegrated into a soft food like jarred baby food. Other than that the dish was tasty. The Pad Thai was very, very good. It tasted like a large dose of sweet & sour sauce was added to a normal pad Thai peanut sauce. It was different but I really liked it. So for great workers & for great service & for a nice place to eat, Green Pagoda gets 5 stars. But perhaps some additional attention needs to be paid to a couple of the dishes. read more

Been driving by this place for a while and the Debbie was craving Asian after our wine tasting so here we are! Really nice on the inside. Friendly folks inside. No problems getting a table though they were pretty busy. Nathalie was awesome and took really good care of us. Everything sounded good and we were hungry so it was hard deciding so we grabbed so coconut soup while we decide. Delicious! Very decadent and flavorful. Careful as it is filling. We also grabbed a couple of spring rolls. Delicious as well. Good portion size for sharing. We finally decided on mains. I had the Pad thai. It was a little sweet but so many good flavors. I added some Sriracha which helped with the sweetness as well as kicked up the heat. Deb had the pork belly clay pot. So good and so many flavors. this is a cool, unique dish as well.
