I've been getting my nails done at Alpha Nails for a few years. They have a great selection of gel polish and never take on more customers than they can handle (I hate waiting!) The prices are very fair $30 for gel manicure & $25 for pedicure, and they have even given my 3 year old daughter mani/pedis. The guy who runs the place is super nice and funny! He does a great pedicure and took wonderful care of me when I had an ingrown toenail! His wife does cute nail designs and always waxes my eyebrows quickly and accurately! You can't beat a $10 eyebrow wax! I've tried a lot of different nails salons in the Sacramento and surrounding areas and Alpha Nails is hands down my favorite!!! read more

This is my third time to Alpha nails and the last. The first time was for a pedicure. I told the gentleman he needed to put cuticle remover on to remove callouses. He said "no I promise, you will not have callouses". I had them the next day. 2nd visit was to remove acrylic nails after my wedding. I asked him to soak them off. He whined and complained and then charged me almost double. He was very rude and obnoxious through the whole process. Three days later my gel nails were lifting because he did not remove all of the acrylic. I went back a third time to have my broken nails fixed 6 days later and decided to have a pedicure to make it worth their while. He was again rude and obnoxious as well as a braggart. Hurt me on purpose with the massage to show how strong he was. Overcharged and more nails lifting. read more

Do not get the stuff they put on your nails instead of gel!!!! It's cement and does not come off!!!! They clipped my toe nails way too short and they hurt for a week!! Seriously awful place!! Go somewhere else!!! read more

Nice employees however getting my nails done is supposed to be a nice relaxing getaway. They did my acrylics in 15 minutes too fast for paying $30. I asked for a thin natural looking acrylic they gave me the exact opposite of what I asked for, they look extremely fake, boxy, and thick. They didn't care if they hurt you I started bleeding because the women kept nicking my skin even after I told her to please stop. They also don't know how to take off acrylics properly, they ripped part of my sisters nail off in the process. It was a very clean salon however, their goal is to get you in and out as soon as possible, not to take care of you. I will not be going back. read more

I am 8 months pregnant and was in desperate need of a nice relaxing mani/pedi day. It was my first time at Alpha Nail salon and they quickly seated me even though I did not have an appointment. The man who did my nails was so rough that he made my cuticles bleed, cut my toe nails too short (OUCH), and left my shins completely scratched and bleeding from the exfoliant. I ended up paying $78 for a gel manicure and a pedicure. The next day, the scratches on my legs were painful and infected. One scratch oozing white puss. 3 days later the gel was already peeling off my nails. Needless to say, it was NOT relaxing whatsoever. It was painful and expensive. Never going there again and telling everyone else to avoid it. read more

I should have waited and gone to Nina's nails, but I was in a hurry and this place was closer to home. I walked in and a gentleman said he'd take care of me. To make a long story short, he glued his finger and mine together. He was laughing as he was trying to pull his glued finger from mine. As he was tugging, I felt like my skin was going to rip. I asked him to stop that it hurt. He laughed and kept tugging. I again said please stop, its hurting me. He then wanted he and I to walk to the faucet to put hot water on our fingers, as he started walking and I had to follow. As he laughed he said that he didn't know what to do. I said try fingernail polish remover. He tried it and it worked. He laughed and then turned me over to a woman working. She finished my nails but several hours later, I have so much glue under my nails. Needless to say, I will never be back, and will stick to Nina's Nails. As another reviewer said, its messy, magazines on the floor, messy stations, etc. Too bad! read more

This was the absolute worst place I have ever gotten my nails done!! The man was very rude and acted like I was inconveniencing him!! There was no one else in the place and now I know why... He cut my nail so short into my mail bed that it hurt so bad and started bleeding... It hurt the entire time he worked on my.. His foot massage was horrible as well.. He then painted my toes and had another person do the nail art I wanted.. She was sick and kept sneezing and coughing all over my feet and her hands and never washed her hands... Then, when I asked her about the design I wanted, she acted like she had never heard of a baseball before... There was no communication between the two people doing my nails and they were just so rude.. So when they were finished I was waiting for them to maybe giving me a break on the cost because of the bleeding toe and they didn't!!!! I held my tongue (probably shouldn't have) and paid the 32.00 and did not leave a tip... Never again!! If that would have happened to my daughter, I would have been furious and demanded my money back... I will not recommend this place to anyone ever and will not be back... Now I just have to pray I don't get an infection... That would be icing on the cake... Btw... If there were a way to give zero stars, I would have read more

I have seen poor reviews that I find disconcerting since I have never seen anyone treated in anything but a professional manner. Their respect and concern for their elderly clients is obvious. I have been going there for 6 months. When I first started going there I really enjoyed it for the last few visits I have been very displeased. Yesterday I went to get my nails filled and a pedicure. Emily did my nails and she is always trying to talk me into something I don't want. When I told her I just wanted a solid color she kept pushing the issue to get designs (more money). Then see insisted that I get my eye brows done. I explained that the wax bothers me and then again insisted. I got very firm with her on both. My husband and son came in while I was still getting my nails done. She kept pushing at my son to get his nails done. He is only 8 years old. He said no thank you. He came a little closer to me and she grabbed his hand. I took his hand away and I told my husband to take him out. I was very upset with that. That reason for itself I will not be returning to this shop again. John did my pedicure! I wanted to have the same color polish they gel would last longer but did not tell me I would pay $15 more to have gel on my toes. My mouth dropped when I went to pay $25 for the pedicure and he charged me $40. It was not worth it at all. The owners are John and Emily and if this is how they treat their customers they wont have a business for much longer. read more
