Used to be nice, quick service with reasonably cheap charges. Now they are completely opposite: overcharge a lot for extra oil, awfully long (1.5 hour for oil change, and that with appointment), and most importantly the owner (or manager?) is rude. We all got stress and the last thing we need is extra stress from a rude person. I didn't want to waste my time any further writing this review but his attitude is just something I despise. Also, when I got oil change over there a couple of years ago, they scraped my car on the ramp, but I let it slide (even gave five-star review) since the service was cheap, fast, and they were nice to me that time. Were they nice just because they were afraid of my claim for damage?! In summary this place gone bad in all respects: expensive surcharge, very long wait time, and most importantly rude offensive attitude. read more

The owner Jerry is nice enough, but I had a major issue after getting my oil change here. They did an overall check and told me I needed a transmission fluid change and showed me the oil color on his hand. I didn't have time to do this that day, so I brought the car home. I drove it for a few day and the 4th day, my "Transmission warning message" come on the dash. I checked under the hood when I got home and found a funnel in the place where the engine oil is supposed to go in, and fluid splatter marks all over my dirty engine cover. Major mistake by a mechanics shop! I called Them back and Jose, the manager answered and took care of the issue. He seemed more knowledgeable than the owner. I will not return. The loss of time off work and the headache is not worth it. read more

I went there 2 different times and each time they came up with a different excuse why they wouldn't do the alignment that I had a groupon for without significant repairs. After the first visit i made repairs, called to make an appt only to go back, wait and be told they needed to make diff repairs. Update: had to get my car repaired not even a month after because I noticed the oil leaking out. First of all, and all of this was told to me by PROFESSIONAL mechanics, they used the wrong oil pan for my car and 2 the hot glue or whatever they used to "seal" it obviously didn't work. Ended up paying almost triple just to repair what they were supposed to "fix". Although they charged me a great price at first, don't come unless u wanna end up having to get their mistakes repaired anyways. Tried to file a dispute on my card as well, but never got a receipt from them so the bank wouldn't refund me because they needed more proof. Stay safe y'all read more

Had a terrible experience here, I took my car in to get rear brakes done, I wasn't sure if rotors needed to be resurfaced or replace so the mechanic said that he would check it out and let me know. Mechanic called back about an hour later saying that the rotors need to be resurfaced and new brake pads, it would cost me $225 out the door. So I said ok let's do it! Well since having my car back all I hear is squeaking from back brakes and gradually getting worse, because of that, I took the car back. Another mechanic looked at the car and said that my rotor should have never been resurface in the first place that they needed to be replaced and to be quite honest I don't even think that they resurfaced my rotors based off how the car is braking. I asked for a refund for the "resurfacing job" they did(not for brakes and I was very rudely denied. The mechanic I took my car back too was very understanding, but the owner with the long hair is extremely unprofessional, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I trusted the rating for this business but many old reviews must be affecting the overall rating because a staff was super rude and he was just a horrible person. The first sign was his lie about the reservation. I called in on Friday and was informed that he was available all day on Monday so showed up at 8:30 on Monday but he made me come back saying he never said anytime. I thought this guy doesnt own his words and can't be trusted. But because of the Groupon voucher I had, I went back 5mins before 11am oil change reservation. I waited about 30 mins then ignored by him letting other customer in. When I made a complaint, he said they were busy and the other customer had special service or something even though another staff told me I was next when I got there. He said I could wait or leave. He simply did not want to provide service at discounted price. They should not post any deals on Groupon if they don't wanna offer the service. His name is Jose. How bad his life has to be for being a liar and rude like that. I'm spreading words about this business. Just avoid this place. read more

When I found a GroupOn to get my brakes fixed at Jerry's establishment, I had no clue my Saturday morning/afternoon would turn into such a whimsical adventure. Worst Customer Service I have ever received. Waited 2 hours for no service. Completely unacceptable for a paying customer.

I'll never come back to this unorganized , rude and badly managed establishment . The mechanics were great but the taller potentially Indian guy with the curly wet hair was not professional in any way that was helping me at the computer I was told I had to get full synthetic oil or else I had to leave . The oil viscosity is only a recommendation not a necessity by the car manufacturer . He even showed me on the computer when he looked it up , it said RECOMMENDATION. So I said , it says recommendation so I can put any oil in , that's when he raised his voice and told me to leave .. I am very busy and only could come in today . This economy is tough right now , everything is so expensive . I chose the Groupon . Also , they charge you an extra $10 on nearly any car that needs more than 4 quarts of oil . Which is pretty much every single car . so it's basically like you're paying full price anyway . I have been here many times before and never had an issue dealing with other gentlemen , now I will never go back or recommend the place to anyone else . read more

I found a Groupon for an oil change at this place. The pricing seemed obviously really cheap when I went there. They wanted an additional $30 for the oil change which I still thought was a good deal but then once I agreed to $30 the guy came back and said actually it's gonna be an additional $70. These people are a scam artists do not give them a single dime of your money. read more

Great group of guys! I went in for an oil change and they immediately suggested I needed new brakes/or pads. At first, I felt, "Great, I'm at an auto shop, and they were offering services, I didn't need." But when my mechanic actually showed me the difference between a new brake pad and my pads, I felt safe there. He taught me all about brakes and let me stand there and learn, I told him I would be back for other services. I knew a little about car maintenance but loved learning about car problems and then finding solutions to fixing things on my own. Not like, I would ever change my brakes. read more

I came to Alpha State Auto Repair after I purchased a Groupon for an oil change and needed a Transmission Fluid change. I called and made an appointment, arrived on time and when I pulled up Gerry (the owner) greeted me and I explained what I needed and that I had purchased a Groupon. Gerry, Jose and the rest of the team were very polite. They did what needed to be done right away and were done within an hour. The technician who worked on my vehicle pointed out that my axle was leaking and it was bent. That I should get it fixed soon but never pressured me to get it fixed there. Their care and concern were evident and I felt secure and safe bringing my car there. I will be bringing it back to get my axle fixed. Thank you Gerry and team for your help and the care you treated my car with. His technician also pointed out that whoever put on my new tires (a different place) didn't put them on correctly and they shook when driving past 20 mph and tightened the tires because they were loose. I am so thankful I found this place through Groupon for an AC inspection. My AC went out & it has been over 100 degrees with a kid in my car. Several mechanics told me different things were wrong with it and couldn't figure it out. Jose was incredible! After a thorough inspection, he found the issue and had it fixed the next day within a couple of hours! He knows what he is doing, is friendly and helpful. Not recommended, I had only got the chance to speak to 3 of the techs the owners got and 2/3 of them where nice and very professional but I went to get an oil change and when it went up in the lift they saw an oil leak and the owner started telling me it's from the valve covers, it'll be 350$ to fix & clean, umm... that's okay I don't have the money to do it right now... he tells me "we can't do the oil change without fixing it" .... Wtf does the valve cover gasket have to do with an oil change?? Even when he walked away his tech was telling me (and we both had a laugh after this) "it has nothing to do with an oil change and that I could literally take it anywhere else and they'll do it." THATS WHAT HIS TECH SAID!!! So.. buyer beware if you read this all. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I tried to get a quote from a different shop before I went to Alpha and they ignored me and told me nothing was wrong even though my vents would stop blowing air if I turned up the fan.
