On a trip across upstate New York, our inverter in our 2018 RoadTrek CS shorted out. When we contacted KS2 (the manufacturer of the inverter) to arrange a pick up of a new unit they suggested Alpin Haus. Mind you it was late afternoon on Thursday. I called Alpin Haus and Randy Robb the assistant service manager (didn't know this until much later) was on the other end of the line. After explaining the situation I asked if there was any way we could get in and have it looked at. Incredibly he said sure, bring it in and if you're dry camping you can even stay in our lot. The inverter did in fact short out and we were without AC but had DC. Chris the expert electronic wizard diagnosed the issue and we were stuck for the weekend in upstate NY. We enjoyed our weekend (minus AC current) but with DC current we were able to keep the food cold, the fan running, interior coach lights working and we had a great trip to the Adirondacks. On Monday we returned to Alpin Haus and Chris was out, my greatest fear since we had developed a sincere trust with him and when Randy said that he had the other wizard on it, Big Frank stepped in. Seamless doesn't come close to how good this team of mechanics are at AH. The big man got us dialed in and we hit the road that evening with the van back to work. These people are the real deal. In the era of Big Box everything, it takes a dealer that cares and treats everyone like family to show that there is still the chance that the end is not in sight for a local dealer with great staff, great inventory and people and dog friendly to help a traveler find their way down the road. My sincere gratitude to Randy, Chris and Frank and the entire staff and team at Alpin Haus for helping us get through this difficult situation. Y'all are the best. read more

Had Alpin Haus do my pool opening this year. First they pulled the cover letting all debris on cover dump into the pool. Within 20 minutes they were gone. Pool pump was left with air in it. Contacted company told me to reset and check pump cover. Did reset no change. Requested techs return to check. No communication since except requests to pay. They had also done the closing last fall and pump was operating fine Service is uncommunicative and unprofessional read more

Be very careful about trusting this business. They may give you an appointment but they see no use in honoring that appointment. While visiting Central New York I had a problem with my RV. I contacted Alpine Haus, described my RV, described the problem and emphasized that I would only be in the area for a week. They "helped" me out by scheduling an appointment for the Friday of that week. On Thursday someone called to "confirm" my appointment. So on Friday I drove the hour and a half to Amsterdam only to be told I was out of luck. They obviously had known ahead of time that there was a conflict but they saw no reason to call or otherwise let me know so I could avoid the THREE HOUR round trip. Instead of honoring my appointment and helping a visitor to the area, they decided that winterizing a local's RV; a service that is obviously not time dependent; was so much more important than helping a visitor just traveling through. We purchased a pool from Alpin Haus three years ago. Their sales and installation are good, but follow-up service...not so great. It's hard to get hold of anyone with a question or need. Their pool-opening service is hasty, not thorough, and just poor. I think Alpin Haus is spread too thin, doing too many things...RVs, ski equipment, pools, etc... I would not purchase from them again nor recommend them for pool purchases. read more

So we finally have our RV back in June, which was brought in for service in Oct. This was a unit less than one-year-old that was damaged at Alpin House. According to our insurance company and the company that repaired the damage, Alpin House left an RY with a roof leak out in the elements which caused even greater damage. After selling us an RV, they had our unit taken to another company for repairs instead of doing them and denied any financial or service responsibility. Our insurance adjuster suggested that they washed their hands of the responsibility. The total damage was eleven thousand dollars due to the initial damage and then leaving it out in the rain. This is not our first RV, and Alpin Haus has been criminal in their neglect. read more

June 7, 2022 we picked up our boat from Alpin Haus in Amsterdam where it was for repair to both engines and propeller as well as winterizing and summering. After such a HUGE repair they didnt test it in the water before giving it back to us. A clean out port "failed" (they cant explain how or why but just know that its "my fault" as the boat owner for not checking it better, their stories change so much I cant keep up ) causing water to shoot into the boat engine gallons per minute sinking both engines and the back end. I WAS WITH JUST MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN and was sure our boat was going to sink. We had to call 911 and be rescued. When the engines stopped, the water stopped shooting in so fast and we were able to hand pump and use bilge enough to stop sinking until rescue came. Now besides the traumatic experience we also have burned seats from there flares, two destroyed engines and tons of damage to the clean out port area. We now have $20,000 in damage Alpin Haus has zero accountability and denies that their men could have anything to do with it sinking immediately after picking it up from them. THEY DID NOT PUT THE CLEAN OUT PORT IN PROPERLY or DIDNT PROPERLY MAINTAIN THROUGH FALL AND WINTER. Hard to know as they refuse to answer any questions about my boat. I spoke to Ron C**** (3rd highest guy) about it to try to resolve it and get answers and he kicked me and my small children out of Alpin Haus and told me to get a lawyer. I went above him and sent a message to the president and owner asking them to call me to discuss what happened. Looks like the owner won't get involved at all and president Andy H*** won't call me but wrote an email to to say he backs up his men and also refuses to answer any of my questions just repeats they are not responsible because I should have checked better. Alpin Haus's negligence and lack of accountability has me so worried they are going to cause something similar for another family and the outcome might not be as good as ours. read more

So this is my review. I have been dealing with Dave B. Absolutely amazing person. When I brought in my 2021 Grand Design 5th wheel I had to cancel out one of our camping trips. Dave said it might be a while before parts were available, I told Dave I would have to cancel out more dates. Dave said let me go do some things to get you camping again. Sure enough Dave did it he got my 5th wheel repaired so that we could go camping. We as are so happy with the service that we got. Thank you Dave for getting the job done. read more

Just go to RV one in Colonie. It's bad enough that you have to go to Amsterdam for Alpine Haus, but the drawbacks don't stop there. My parents purchased a brand new Class C motorhome (purchase cost approx 100k) from this dealer a little over a year ago and have nothing but issues from the first week. All warranty options have been exercised and it has spent more time in the shop than on the road. Alpine Haus nor the manufacturer had any interest in taking accountability for these issues. My parents literally have a laundry list of things that were fixed just in the first year and components continue to break and malfunction. Alpine Haus took so little accountability that the RV has to be driven to the manufacturer in Indiana for repairs. Most recently, My parents ended up with a cash settlement for the ordeal and Alpine Haus was screening their calls. If you're going to buy an RV, there are several other dealers who will be much more accommodating than Alpine Haus. A loan on an RV is similar to a mortgage and therefore it's the kind of commitment that is best to make with a reputable dealer. read more

Had an extremely negative experience with this dealership and in particular salesperson Heather. Heather showed us 2 RVs over the phone that we were interested in and we arranged to come in and look at them that afternoon after having rescheduled our day at her convenience. We drove 90 minutes to the lot and when we arrived we were kept waiting for nearly an hour only to be passed off to a different salesperson who told us that neither RV was available and in fact they had no RVs of the size we required on the lot and then told us to go to their Saratoga location which was closing within 20 minutes anyway. I purchased a 252 Yamaha jet boat. Prior to picking up the boat I had went into detail with my salesman about all the issues Yamaha was having with QC issues. I told him to make sure during prep that all was looked at. well after picking up the boat and driving 5 hours home. My conext screen feel off and the bolts on the screen were all snapped. To this day I have yet to hear back from him and I have all the emails. Also when I picked up the boat the boat was showing 0% fuel and the tech told me it was showing 0 do to it having hardly any fuel. After I got it home And filled to top. The gauge still reading 0. I called the dealer and no response. I decided to open the fuel cell compartment and I found fuel sending unit was not plugged in from what I assume factory. But this is the stuff we pay a prep fee for. Also I found various nuts and bolts all over the compartments in the boat I assume from assembly. But all of this should have been cleaned up during prep. After spending 90K I would figure the service and prep would be a lot better. Never again will I deal with this company. read more

First of all, please sleep in and then be open when people are out of work. You are in the recreation industry! Bought a Caldera Hot tub from these guys... Good deal for me, can finance last year leftover inventory at 0%. Cool. Only took an hour to process and get out of the store, better than the last few times I've bought a car (for about the same price) what I didn't expect (or ask about, if I'm honest) is that buying a spa at retail prices doesn't always get you the best stuff... I'm sure their motto is "Caveat Emptor" we really should have invested the time to examine the available hot tubs from other dealers and big box stores (and eBay considering service is always a nightmare, from all pool dealers). We ended up moving the 1000 pound spa into final position ourselves, because we are awesome. My expectations should have been more clear. Any spa sold should have the following options: -Some number of jets depending on size *check* -Filtration and treatment *check, but no Ozone!* (every other model I've looked at since does include this, they want $500) -Audio and connection (most other models have this but there are 100 models of wireless speakers that can get wet and are better than the Caldera system at 1/3 the $1000 price tag) -Rot resistant materials *nope, same wood frame we've seen for the last 30 years* -Efficient insulation *nope (industry went to the pillow cushion wadding that allows easier service/replacements but is less insulating than the epoxy/foam stuff)* read more

My husband and I purchased our first travel trailer from Mark House here. We got a Forest River Rpod and, even though it was probably the cheapest RV on the lot, we were treated just as importantly as the people buying one of those massive motorhomes. Alan in service walked us through everything we needed to know when we picked it up. He took his time and we spent about two hours with him. He even gave us his personal cell in case we had any issues. There was a problem with the installation of the additional braking system for the trailer in our Jeep and they paid for repairs and a rental car while it was fixed. There is much more to this, but I did my best to abbreviate the ordeal. I bought a 2021 RV last October, 2020 labeled as having been "winterized." It was not after I inquired in late December after subfreezing weather. No, they said. It comes from the manufacturer winterized, but they de-winterize it so the customer gets to see clean fresh water when considering it! I asked why I was not told that and/or the label was not removed. No answers from several staff there. At the beginning, staff was helpful for a couple of months, then stopped responding. The issue was that I likely ruined the hot water heater. They jerked me around all winter. I brought it is about a month or so ago. There was NO problem at all except the never used RV had a leaking toilet and sink faucet! Did they sell it to me that way? I got it back 2 days before my 1 year anniversary of the purchase, 10/2 after nothing than BS for a year w/out ANY enjoyment for me! Someone peed in the toilet that they denied that ANYONE would have done that! I should have taken a picture before flushing, but you decide what the attached stain picture is from - and why was it not cleaned off! Other than Dan Taber, the salesman, who, after the sale, hung in with me to try to help. If you must, ask for him, but I would stay away from Alpin Haus and go elsewhere. read more

We have a 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited that we needed wired to hook up to our pop-up camper. We had brought it to another RV location and they tried but gave up after having the car 2 days saying they tried to find a solution but no luck. They actually said they were told by a Toyota dealer locally that our car was not meant to pull anything. We were sick as we bought this car for this exact purpose. Then my brother recommended Alpin Haus. I called and optimistically they said, "sure". Well, that first attempt did not work but Dave did not give up. He called Toyota and they sent him the part which also failed.. (Your bad Toyota). Then Dave called Toyota in CA with our Vin number and they sent him what we needed .. Well almost.. But Dave came through and tried and tried and tried until he succeeded!! Thank you Dave, we can now go camping!! read more

First the good ... 1. We wanted slide toppers put on our 5th wheel. Setting up a service appointment at the Amsterdam location was really easy. 2. Within a few days we dropped our RV off, again a super easy process and really friendly staff, especially Denise. 3. While Alpin Haus had our RV, they notified us that the roofing had a lot of cracks in it and provided an estimate to seal it. We okay'd the work. 4. Picking up after the work was done was easy too. What could be improved ... 1. We assumed that the slide toppers would be the ones that are encased in their own covers. That's not what we got. The real cheap ones were installed. We realize that was our fault, but Alpin Haus sells several different models, so we should have been given options. 2. We were charged more for the roof sealing than the estimate we were given. Our credit card was charged before we got there. We were handed a receipt and sent on our way, so didn't realize it until after we left their lot. 3. At some point while our RV was in Alpin Haus' possession, either someone backed into it and bent the rear ladder, or one of the staff hit something with it. read more

I am a first time renter with Alpin Haus this June and it was a great experience. I set up my reservation and contracts with Chris. He was there with the folder of hard copies ready when I arrived. Butch walked us through the hardware details of the rental. And both of them could not have been more pleasant to deal with. The RV itself was like new, only 3,000 miles on it. It was a Thor Chateau that sleeps four. And it was worry free- all we had to do was put gas in it and supply our own linens. We were especially happy to have the RV with us because it rained one day of our long weekend. All in all, I see additional rentals from Alpin Haus in the future. read more

Dog owners beware! Greg, a ten year Alpin Haus salesman stated my 2019 Dodge Ram needed brake connections to the travel trailer I was buying. A day later and after a quick look and Google search my truck was made to haul trailers. Riley, another Alpin Haus employee stated he needed to drive my truck to the garage, I told him my dogs were in the truck. He insisted and told me "it was ok" I told him it wasn't and took my dogs out of the truck. I told him to stay away from my dogs. For whatever reason he felt the need to walk closely next to me and reached down for my dog's mouth. Many hours later I got a call from the Montgomery County health dept that Riley sought medical attention due to his alleging my dog bit him and he got a shot as a precaution and they would need to call me back in ten days to ensure my dog didn't have rabies. Riley did not behave as a "reasonable person". The health dept stated I was not allowed to know if Riley had any diseases he could have transmitted to my dog and possibly to me and my other dog. I texted Greg and asked if Riley had COVID, no response. Riley's job was to deal with my truck...period. Backtrack, the truck that didn't need to be driven by any Alpin Haus employee. During the hours Alpin Haus had possession of my truck I was given the walkthrough of my new travel trailer. My dogs were fine alone in my truck as the weather was cool. So i bought a brand new coachman and the heat turned off in the middle of the night. Tried to figure out the issue since im familiar with hvac, no luck with what i had at the time. I figured id call this company to come out, explained to them the issue and all the checks i performed. Gas supply, thermostat, etc etc. Ray came out and met my mom who was ableto take off of work and go up for me, the heat turned on, packed up and left. Of course several minutes later it turned back off after i explained to them that was one of the issues. $700 later still no heat. Alpin Haus rips you off. Brought my car there for a new connection for our camper and boat. 1) we got quoted at $280 to fix the job that was done by them 2 years ago THAT HELD UP LIKE CRAP. Why should we be charged that much more for your mistake? It was more than we guessed it would be, but we needed this done so we shrugged it off and hoped it wouldn't get any higher. 2) my husband was the primary contact about when it would be done because my car was there for two days with no updates. He was the one that kept calling. My husband was told he would be contacted if the parts and labor went over $280. Heard nothing, even with his constant phone calls. 3) they ended up calling ME, not to give us a new estimate, but to TELL me the total was almost $400, and that the car was done without our consent. Not once did they call and let us know that it would go over our estimate. Not only that, but they went behind my husbands back and called me instead of him. 4) when my husband called to dispute, they told him that they "cleared it with the Mrs" about the extra parts and labor, however, when he called me, the work had already been done. What am I supposed to say?! 5) they had already charged my card before I even went to pick up my car, so I couldn't even try to dispute it more. Good business, alpin Haus. Over the weekend we went to the 5S Amsterdam dealership. We had went to the one going towards Saratoga, a few years ago and walked out after 20 mins of waiting to have a salesperson "show us campers" as the lot was locked up. Anyway, we thought maybe things had changed and they are local so we'd give them another shot. Unfortunately, not the case. Not allowed to go out to lot without sales person. I could get past that except for the fact that she seemed to want to go down a checklist of questions that she wanted answers to BEFORE she would take us outside. Questions like, where do we camp, what do we like to do when camping, what down payment will we be putting down, how much do we owe on current camper, how much do we want to spend, what exactly did we want? We were there to find something we liked and go from there. Every camper has different features and new ones change all the time. I'd like to look and see the features to figure out which one I want. Not to be only shown what she felt like showing me. I kept telling her "I just want to look at some campers to see what I like". She started getting snippy. When I said "When we went to Albany RV, we are allowed to walk around and see what we like" she in return got snotty and said "Well this isn't Albany RV and obviously you didn't find what you wanted because you are here now." We should have walked out right then and there. She decided she had ONE camper to show us. One out of the whole lot. Seriously! But before that, she made us wait another 15 mins while she went and "put our info into the system". The camper she showed us was used and not even cleaned. Crumbs in the cupboards. I questioned her about the outdoor frig that was not in the pic online. She stated, yes it was, it's always been there. Then she opened it up and there was all the new paperwork for it. I looked at it and noticed that when they put the frig in, they drilled screws right through inside of the frig into the counter instead of using brackets. I asked her about it and her answer was "that's how you do it". Ummm...no it's not! They try to claim that they have to bring you out to "unlock" the campers. This is not true! This is an excuse so you don't try going out by yourself. This is the second time there. The second horrible experience. I will not make the mistake a 3rd time. Poor procedures, poor salesperson, poor experience. I would never recommend Alpin Haus to anyone. Not customer friendly at all. read more

Buying the rv travel trailer was awesome . But for us that is where the professionalism at Alpin Haus stopped. Let's talk service . My rv trailer is at a permanent park so alpine haus has to come to my place to service my rv. My refrigerator broke . I called and scheduled service for July 3 . Was called back by service dept that day and rescheduled for July 5 . I waited from 9 am to 3:30pm on July 5 and I'm still waiting. I made sure at 930 am in the morning the service call was still confirmed and they said it was . At 1 pm when they did not show I called and asked for an estimated time of arrival . The service department said around 2 pm and it's 3:30 pm with no show and no update calls the entire day . My wife and I were talking about buying a class b or c when we retire in 2 years . I don't think alpin haus will get my business after this. read more

We bought our travel trailer in June of 2018. We were told they go over it with a fine tooth comb, which is wrong. We left their place to find the spare tire falling off and a bent center cap on the wheel. We got home and found that nothing was gone over. The water system still had antifreeze in it and we had to flush it ourselves, the rear bunk bed was not bolted together and also the toilet was not bolted down amongst other things that need to be fixed. Try to arrange service for three weeks now but no response. Not happy at all with this company when they promise you they are the best. read more

We bought a 2012 trailer travel from the Saratoga branch for cash and in good faith in May 2018. They inspected the travel trailer and gave it a NY state inspection sticker. We thought it met all safety standards but it did not because they sold it to us with dry rotted tires. Fortunately, before we took the trailer on our first camping trip on June 30, 2018, we discovered that the tires were cracked and dry rotted. We could have caused an accident if the tires blew out on the highway, which could have caused serious injury to us and other motorists. We had to buy 4 new tires so I asked the Saratoga branch to reimburse us for the new tires. The general manager and sales manager gave me a very hard time. I had to go to the branch with one of the dry rotted tires to show proof that it was cracked and a sales receipt for the new tires. I dropped off both items and I am still trying to get reimbursed. The cost of the 4 new tires was $266.80 which is not a lot of money for the company. FYI, we bought the new tires at the WalMart in Sartoga. They did a very good job of installing the tires on a very busy Saturday. read more

I had a bad feeling after we agreed to buy our new used RV, we were immediately told we would come to sign on one day, and that had to be before 4pm, and do the walk thru on another day, and that had to be no later than 230pm. So, being my husband works until 3pm, in a hospital where it is not easy to get time off, I begged. So we were told it was ok to be there for 430pm to sign on one day and 330pm for the walk thru. Now, we were told delivery could only be Monday-Friday. Once again, I pushed back and it was finally agreed for a Saturday Morning delivery. So we signed on a Monday, Walk thru on a Wednesday (which was done by the service department and was excellent) and delivery the following Saturday. At 423PM on the day before delivery day, I get a TEXT message from the sales person, " Horrible news, there was a miscommunication and we cannot deliver tomorrow, soonest will be Monday". I went nuts. I placed numerous calls to this sales person and texts, no response, just voicemail etc. At 5pm, I called and asked to speak to a manager, got his voicemail. At 520pm, I called again and asked to speak to the manager and I DID NOT WANT VOICEMAIL. Got the sales manager, who quickly cut me off and said everything was set for RV delivery next day. I told him it was unacceptable to receive a text like this and no response from anyone. I asked why I had to leave numerous messages for his sales person that have not been answered and was told he was with customers. My reply to him, " AND I AM NOT??? " The sales manager admitted the sales person " Dropped the ball on this one" But all was set for next day. I was told 1030am. The next day, at about 1020am, in rolled the RV to the campground. I was very happy and pleased. But what I found disturbing was they gave the poor driver that they begged to do the job on a Friday evening, the wrong paperwork and he went to a entirely different place about 45-60 minutes out of his way!!!! So needless to say, they don't even treat their own any better than their customers! All I can say, BEWARE. Know, they are not flexible to the need of the customer and have strict hours on when they do things for their convenience. Also know, this is Alpin Haus of Amsterdam and I cannot pass judgement on any of their other places. I do not recommend Alpin Haus of Amsterdam, and I merely have given the above FACTS of our experience and it is certainly up to the individual to decide to go there or not. read more

Called for pool service, waited all day but no one showed. Called again and was charged $108 for a serviceman tell me the pool needed repairs but he could not get a part. Asked if they called Florida North where the pool was purchased? One call and five minutes later I had the part. As first time pool owners, we expected someone to communicate with us more clearly about how to run the pool system. None of this was done, even after numerous emails and phone calls. When we got nowhere with the salesman, we contacted the manager and found him to be even worse. We basically begged Alpin Haus to work with us to finish the job, as there were many things not done correctly. The only time they decided to contact us was when their payment was due.
