We came in late on a Sunday after realizing that all the restaurants near us were closed (despite marketing themselves as open - I digress). The restaurant was PACKED. The bar was full, and the food was looking and smelling delicious. We were seated fairly quickly, despite the mayhem. We were given warm bread and butter to start, but we also shared garlic scallion clams. The clams were warm, buttery, and super garlicky. And the bread was great to dip into the extra sauce! I ordered the French onion soup, which was packed with cheese and had a great broth. My Husband got soup with his entree, and he got the soup of the day which happened to be corn chowder. The chowder was super thick and had lots of veggies. He said it was delicious. My Husband got the Delmonico steak as his entree, which came with a twice baked potato and veggies. The steak was cooked perfectly and was smothered with mushrooms and onions. I had entree envy. I got the open faced roast beef with fries. My roast beef was thinly sliced and piled up on top of a toast slice. My fries and beef were drowned in gravy - just the way I like it. Overall, we had a great dinner. Great food and a large menu. They had several unusual menu items which were delicious- the pea soup and the duck with cranberry preserves were wonderful. We were vacationing in the area and came here for my daughter's birthday after seeing it was #1 on Yelp for the area. Our server went out of her way to bring our little girl a pink birthday candle and lighter for her dessert. She was kind to us and knowledgeable about the menu. No real gluten or dairy free options but they tried hard to accommodate our restrictive (annoying) diet without fuss and were able to make some great substitutes or omissions. So after reading all the reviews on the different platforms (Yelp, Trip advisor, Google ETC) my wife and I chose to drive the hour from Lake Luzerne to have dinner. Let me tell you, we will be back. Yes it was an hour ride but a gorgeous ride it was around the lake. Taking in the what nature has to offer it was a great ride. Now to the restaurant, reservations are a must as they book out quickly. That is for good reason. The staff there could not have been nicer and any more accommodating. Thank you. As for the food. Well I had to order two dinners because I could make up my mind. The king cut prime rib was outstanding however the chicken Marsala was even better. We ended up having enough food for left overs two more nights. PS all that food and it didn't cost us a "leg". Awesome place and great to hear they are open all year long. read more

Smack dab in the middle of nowhere. Open Thursday through Sunday and Wednesday's in July and August. You will be pleasantly surprised on how well the food is cooked. Lots of good comfort foods, excellent seafood and Generous cuts steaks. This trip I started with a buffalo shrimp appetizer, salad with homemade horseradish dressing and a broiled seafood player that had large portions of fish, shrimp, scallops and clams. The Alpine is the best food in the Southern Adirondacks. It's locally owned and you can't go wrong with any item on the menu.

This nondescript roadhouse on an isolated stretch of Rte. 30 between Northville and Wells has no business being so enjoyable. There was a boisterous crowd the cold Friday night we stopped by for dinner. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, and why not, in a place that turns out really good steaks, salads and local brews on tap. read more

I I highly recommend the Alpine Grill. It is the best restaurant I have been to in the area. I have had a dozen items on the menu and they have all been excellent. Steaks, fish, clams, bone-in wings and boneless wings are all cooked perfectly. Wing flavors are great and all sauces/flavors are delicious. The burgers and wings are usually what my family orders and the selection is excellent. The restaurant is a family run establishment and they provided friendly and quick service. Beer and drink prices are good. The only item I have had which has been inconsistent are the fries. A couple of times they were cooked too long and I find the sweet potato fries a little soggy but I haven't ever found a sweet potato fry to ever be perfect for me anywhere. If you are traveling on route 30 stop by and try the Alpine Grill. read more
