Thank you! A family member of mine had a copy of my housekey as well as my home address on her drivers license. Well....her purse was stolen. I didn't want to take any chances, so I decided to have the house re-keyed. Called Alpine and had 3 locks re-keyed within 24 hours. Spoke with James when I called. He said he would try to do it himself but would send another knowledgeable locksmith should he have other appointments scheduled. I contacted Alpine Lock because of all these fantastic reviews on Yelp. I called in the morning and was told that the guy who handled what I needed was not in yet. My information was taken and a return call was promised. I didn't receive one. I phoned back the next day and was connected to a technician. He told me he could be there in a couple of hours. He did not show up or follow up. I can't comment on their locksmith skills since I did not observe them, but I did observe poor customer service. read more

The key pad on my gun safe stopped working. I called for a quote. Alpine came back with over $300 since my safe was locked and they'd have to get into the safe before they could replace the key pad. I called these guys with hopes that they could fix my key. It's one of those new kinds with the key and remote attached. The dealership said it would cost $310 to replace. I was quoted $50 to $120 from Alpine. When I got there the gentleman asked if he could try something. I said "yes! I love a man that thinks outside the box!" It worked he embedded the chip into another type of key, (now the key and remote are separate), that will never break. The best part is it was $12 literally $12. I had scheduled an appointment with the Truckee location to change the locks on my new home for the day after President's Day in order to avoid overtime charges on the holiday itself. Wouldn't you know, I lost my key on President's Day and found myself locked out of my new house? I called Alpine, and they were there within 45 minutes and got me in my house within 47 minutes. Kevin (I think his name was) was very friendly and professional. He went above and beyond to help me with some minor adjustments to make my door close better. And then to top it off, he only charged me what he was going to charge for regular service because I had already scheduled service for the next day. Excellent customer service, and really good at his job. Not to spoil an otherwise great review, but the guy who answers the phone has a demeanor that is civil at best, sometimes bordering on indifferent or even unfriendly. Alpine, you might want to work on that, because it certainly did not give me a good first impression. read more

The best! I originally went here because they had the best prices on key fobs. I will keep coming back because they are good company that stands behinds its products. When the key fob they ordered me broke a few months later, they replaced it and didn't give me a hard time about it at all. Updated: the new key fob only lasted a month. We ordered a safe from Cabelas, and they informed us that they use Alpine Lock and Key for their main delivery service. I called in advance to find out how much they would charge us to deliver ( in house) this safe. Most places will deliver to your curbside , but we wanted it put inside our home. I got several quotes from other companies and this seemed to be the best deal. Patrick answered the phone on a Sunday and set up the delivery date for the very next morning. They arrived on time, got the safe in our house without scratching or damaging our wood floors. They made sure we were satisfied before leaving, and gave us a card. It was James that came with a co worker to do the install of the safe. James had a great attitude, and worked very hard. beware of this business. they will charge you even without guarantee on key fob programming. you will need to sign a waiver and they charge you $75 bucks. go to Andy's Lock and Key instead. they guarantee your key fob works and/or key otherwise they wont charge you. plus you pay way less than they are charging. read more
