The next day I went into the office and explained to the girl at the front desk that something was wrong, the Rx did not change. She was very snippy saying that's what it is as it's based off of the eyeglasses I had on. I left feeling like I was disregarded and ignored. I was half way home, turned around and went back. I asked to speak to someone who knew prescriptions. Jessica came out and took the time to explain how they use the glasses I had on as a base for the exam. I asked why they don't look at my chart and see what was prescribed last year. (No answer to that.) Also, I had another pair of glasses that I wore from Costco. The ones at my exam were from Walmart. She was very empathetic and pulled out a form, writing all my info on it, said she would discuss with Dr. Beeson when he got in next week, and would call me back to come in to get this straightened out. She even told me when I come back in to bring the Costco glasses so she could check them. As of the date of writing this, August 21, 2026, I never received a call back. To sit in front of a patient  while you fill out a form and dupe them into thinking you care and will call them is pure deception. I work in customer service and this is totally unacceptable.  On July 11, 2026, I had my eyes re-examined somewhere else. Yes, my Rx did change. I asked them to check my Walmart glasses and they did not read what my Rx was from last year. They were not made correctly which I was unaware of because they were slightly off. Had Dr. Beeson checked my chart and seen last year's Rx didn't match the glasses, this could have been avoided.  It is quite evident Payson Eye Center only cares about their patients if there are no problems. So glad I found a reputable eye doctor elsewhere that throughly examined my eyes for both near and far distances.

Today I went with a friend to look for new glasses for her. I was there strictly for moral support…read more& honest opinions. Sam was the optician on shift when we arrived. He was informed that we wanted assistance with the frame selection while we sorted the selection ourselves. After over an hour 2 frames were selected & both frames were recommended by Sam. He checked with her throughout the selection process to make a suggestion or ask questions & was completely knowledgeable in his products, her insurance. In the end she bought 2 pairs of glasses 1- regular 1-sunglasses & now will wait the approximate 12 days for her glasses to be delivered. The price was fair especially with using insurance & the additional multiple pairs discounts. Thank you Sam for making the entire process enjoyable & less stressful.

My mother had lost a screw in her glasses while on vacation, causing the arm to fall off. She was…read moreusing bandaids to hold them to her face for two days. We went to the vision center in Walmart, and the lady repaired them in less than a minute without charging us. It was so nice for my mom to be able to not have a bandaid holding her glasses on, and I didn't have to struggle to fix them myself.

Local artists have works for sale. There's a farm stand with fresh produce, bread, and local eggs. They serve excellent quality food, coffees, and although I didn't have one, they even had beer, wine, and cocktails. Unfortunately I live in Goodyear and don't get to Payson nearly as often as I would like, but it's the kind of place I may make a special trip up there for. Our favorite was the maple walnut -- it was an excellent recommendation by the lovely woman assisting us! Our daughter loved the strawberry fudge. This shop offers so many more flavors of fudge and other yummy truffles and chocolates. They also sell every kind of candy you can imagine, including old school candy and novelty candy (think scorpion lollipops LOL). Great shop to stop by while visiting Payson. For instance, we received a bill after two cleanings for a full drainage (even though it was brand new and just filled), they said it was a mistake and cancelled the bill. But then, guest kept complaining, waterline marks, spa not serviced or cleaned, etc. After the 5th guest complaint we cancelled our contract. Note that they send a photo every time they service, which is great, but once when we had a complaint the same day as they serviced, I checked and saw that the photo sent was not my hot tub... And more than once the technician turned off the water which connects to our separate house (a knob next to the water to the tub), which had guests complain of no water and we had to send a plumber and realized the water connection had been closed. The amount of issues in 2 months was so high that we decided to no longer work with them. Every time we called they were polite, apologized, and said they'd send someone over. But after seven issues we just decided we had to change company. A shame as we really wanted it to work out, their rates were reasonable, the lady at reception nice. But in the end, we paid to have a clean hot tub for our guests and only had issues.
