Buzz Doughty and his crew just completed installing a new roof on our home and we are extremely pleased with the results. I watched Doughty Roofing replace the roof on the house across the street and was impressed by the crew's efficiency and work. I met Buzz when they were cleaning up on the job across the street; I asked him if he could look at my place and give me an estimate. He took a great deal of time to explained his estimate procedure. Buzz said it was a two-day job and responded quickly, answering questions right away, and came back with a good bid that same day. The work was completed between the recent storms in one day plus a couple of hours the next. Jon the owner has ALWAYS responded within hours, often minutes (just checked my texting history with him). Given one is usually reaching out when there is a downpour, its exemplary. Another example: There was a very rare (and unexpected) overnight summer rainstorm when the roof was replaced and Jon and crew showed up in the middle of the night to cover their work as needed. A real conscientiousness towards the work. The crew was great, worked very clean and efficiently (they worked hand in hand with a skylight installer). In nearly all cases, our "leaks" were not about the quality of work but a function of anomalies in our roof (both flat "tar and gravel" and "pitched composite" with lots of angles, nooks and crannies) that required careful attention / maintenance on our part and some minor tweaks by Able to address the anomalies. Ben didn't try to convince me to upgrade to higher grade materials. However, I decided to go with the 'middle tear' roofing material. Benelli roofing discovered some rot because the old roof had been installed improperly. Rather than charging a bunch of extra $$$, the repairs (including new plywood at the roof edges) only came to $300 including labor AND materials. Ben Benelli didn't require any deposit and didn't require a signed contract to get us on his books. The company is licensed and bonded. His crew consists of himself plus two others - one of which is also a licensed roofer with many years of experience. I TOTALLY recommend Benelli roofing if you need a new roof.

December 2024 Beware…read moreof Benelli Roofing! Reconsider hiring his company should you require anything more than new shingles and underlay. In a nutshell, he intentionally or negligently concealed bat-guano soaked insulation and tried to quickly shingle over it and hoped we did not notice. This was the part of our roof where we planned to install solar panels so it was critical to have a proper re-roofing.
