It's a fact of life that stuff happens, but if things like that happen, I expect communication. Unfortunately, they didn't feel that they needed to communicate the delays and left me with unmet expectations. The woman who I was working with was rather rude and unapologetic about the delays. Vision is probably one of the most important out of all of the 5 senses. When you can't see well, it can be very difficult to function. When delays occur, this only adds to the difficulty of being able to function. Rather than being sympathetic to that, the front desk staff treated me with no respect or courtesy. I've since found a much better place for my family that treats its customers with more respect and understands that patients with vision needs is important.

Different faces mostly but attitude was obvious. Staff too young and badly in need of social skills. The ophthalmologist iced the cake as to rudeness. Rude, distant, and downright insulting -- said "go see Dr. Haas or doctor somebody else` if I needed "hand holding" Told me he was 'done" when I asked about scheduling a 3 month checkup since I have cataracts forming. Told me "what for ?'. When I tried to explain I wanted to ride herd on the problem to monitor the situation and decide how soon I might need surgery he said "it's up to you if you want to walk around in a fog forever." -- he told me "I don't do anything when there are cataracts" as if I had no right to set out my own health progress. Told me he was not liable if I fell (I am disabled but trying) once I stepped outside . Then he said "be careful until you're out of the parking lot -- I am liable if you fall until then." I left angry and insulted. My wife will not use them now. People better remember that patients are not a nuisance or an interruption -- Patients ARE THE REASON THEY HAVE JOBS. I don't care if you like my jokes and casual demeanor, and I do not care if you are having a bad day because I am not and I will never have a healthy, pain free day ever so put a smile on and be happy to see me or go flip burgers. They can have a good day -- ill patients cannot. If all of that means "hand holding" then so be it in his world but it is called being professional and compassionate in the rest of the world. Doctor and tech were great. Picked out some glasses that were paid for by my insurance. I looked into what it would cost for new sunglasses but it was too much (out of pocket for me) so I elected to get new lenses for the sunglasses that I got from them last year. 2 weeks later I got a call that both the new glasses and the sunglasses lenses were ready. Went in and the glasses were great but the sunglass lenses were definitely not the right size for my frames (even though they had the info for the correct frames). 3 weeks later the new lenses finally arrive. They left a voicemail that told me this and that I should make an appointment but that I could also wait for the lenses to be ready. I was not told that I could only get these lenses put into my frames Tues - Thurs (the person that can cut the lenses to size is only there on these days) so, since I was off on Friday, I went in. I was then told that that was why they said I needed an appointment (but skipped over the part where they also said I could wait). So, I made an appointment for the following Tuesday. On Tuesday I went in for my appointment, gave them the frames and told them I would wait (they told me 30 to 45 minutes). 45 minutes later they brought out my sunglasses with the new lenses. I was then told that the lenses have some scratches around the edges and they were going to order new lenses again so I can have "perfect" lenses. They will call and then I will have to go through this process all over again. If the timeframe is the same as it was for the lenses I currently have, it will be at least 3 weeks before I get the final (hopefully) lenses. If that is the case, it will have taken 2.5 months just to get lenses. Each time I went in to get my lenses, I was given a token apology that never seemed sincere. In fact, one of them apologized in a way that made it sound like they were apologizing for me making a mistake (for not making an appointment as they suggested even though I was given the option to wait and never told why I needed an appointment). I know mistakes happen but they aren't even trying to make it up to me in anyway (like offering any sort of refund since they made the mistake a couple of times now). I am definitely frustrated and will consider changing providers next year.

I was led here for the dry eye specialist Dr. Sheron Marshall and have had good experiences with her- she is serious and smart though I often have a long wait. I recently tried Dr. Pikkula for my glasses and contacts and was really happy with her. She is also really smart about dry eyes and after five years of severe dry eye issues she taught me some things I didn't know and gave me tools to try that finally made a significant difference in my dry eye which ultimately improved my vision! I appreciate her energy (though she talks really really fast!) and appreciated her patience and commitment to figuring this out with me, even over multiple appointments. She didn't give up until things were better enough and I really appreciated that. Her techs have also been wonderful, including Debbie who was very patient with me and my history and details and questions. I appreciate being listened to. Being able to see matters so much and as I get older and things change I'm grateful for people who know what they are doing. I also think this office is beautiful and clean and there is also a nice free fancy coffee machine too. :) I visited the glasses and contacts section the other day and they also seem really smart and knowledgable and committed to helping you find the best price and situation for what your particular needs and insurance are. Overall I've been impressed with almost everyone I've met here!

The staff was just RUDE no Hello's just stares. I initiated Hello's to them. Guess they treat all their patients that way cause their OLD. Here's a tip, if you don't want new patients, simply say you aren't accepting new patients, don't lie about it to people. We have excellent insurance and have never been told it is not accepted, so something else is going on with them, especially since we were already patients there. Don't not waste your time here with the doctor and his employees, the type of people he employs is a reflection on himself.
