They were very helpful from selection to contracting to giving me a timeline that seemed a little long but with pandemic decided to go ahead and then they were a month early than estimate. I have never had such a terrible experience with a window treatment company. I have done business with Alro for over a year and have been consistently disappointed. I am an interior designer and used this company out if support from my business mentor referral. As a firm we did about 100k in sales with Alro. The lack of detail and communication is discouraging to say the least. As a business owner I guided them on my projects on details and execution when it should have been the other way around. I had confirmed installation that were scheduled a month in advance to meet my deadlines only to be canceled last minute. They will show up to installations 2-3 times having to comeback because they don't have all the materials they need. I discussed on phone and email the gaps and gave months to improve. The improvements never happened. The team is very respectful but the operations is lacking. I would not recommend this business as a fellow business owner. This is hard for me to post as I know the magnitude reviews hold but the experience I've had needs to be known. read more

I purchased drapes and curtains from a local store but realized that I should have consulted with an expert as I am not sure that the rods will hold the drapes. I called Alro. I cannot seem to get past the receptionist/scheduler. The person who answered asked a question that I did not understand who merely stated two words which I now realize was the name of a blinds company. When I asked for clarification, the person hung up. I called again and asked to speak to an installer since I had questions. I was told that I MUST submit the size drapery I need to install. I had the measurements but was told that I need to submit it in writing. It seems that the installers go by the size of the drapery. I have never installed drapes nor rods. Is this the normal way drapery installers communicate? read more

They called a day in advance to confirm, called 15 minutes ahead of time to give a heads up they were arriving, and arrived right in the time window they had promised. He wore a mask and had shoe covers and even washed his hands after opening the boxes before installing my window coverings. I got Shades from the Shade store, and Arlo came to install for me. Jesus and Oscar couldn't be nicer and more efficient. They were in and out in 20 minutes and installed two shades in my smaller bedrooms. They also helped me to clean everything up, and took away the old items so there was no mess left behind. The rep didn't introduce himself, but was pleasant enough. However, not only did the draperies not open and close easily after he left, he left a mess on the carpet - didn't vacuum the sheetrock pieces, the old rods and strings were left in a messy pile, and the old draperies were just stacked on top of each other. He had said he would put the old drapes into the box the new drapes came in. I was very disappointed and contacted the Shade Store rep, who was also disappointed and embarassed. Now they will have to have someone else come out to either fix or reinstall the drapes. read more

Ordered drapes from The Shade Store and Jesus from alro was our installer. He called us 30 minutes before his arrival during the expected arrival timeframe. Having a dog, it was nice to know exactly his eta so I didn't have to guess for an hour. Jesus did a great job, he installed window coverings on 6 windows and drapes on a slider. The installer was very courteous and did a good job BUT when he attached the hook (to wrap the cords around) to the window frame, he first attempted to screw the hook into the interior side of the window casing/frame. I guess that didn't work as he then attached it to the front of the frame. The problem was that I didn't notice until after he left that he had left holes and chipped paint on the interior side of the frame (where he tried to but couldn't attach the hook). It would have been nice if he had pointed out the error to me, apologized, etc. before he left. Now I have to find something at the hardware store to patch up the holes he left. Not good Someone else came out from the company and patched the holes. So I'm changing my review from 2 stars to 5 stars. He said that the original installer, once he put the shade down, forgot that he had left holes in the side of the frame and didn't remember to tell me. He was very helpful and agreeable. I will leave a separate review for The Shade Store as their service was not good. read more

This was the 3rd appointment (The Shade Store's review is not as positive) and at the beginning it appeared we had not received all we needed. I was not happy with the idea of having to take a 4th day off for yet another appointment and they could clearly tell I was frustrated. They immediately set out to help me find the misplaced pieces.
