Jesus and Elio came to clean up the mess that the other installers made with our The Shade Store shades. This was the 3rd appointment (The Shade Store's review is not as positive) and at the beginning it appeared we had not received all we needed. I was not happy with the idea of having to take a 4th day off for yet another appointment and they could clearly tell I was frustrated. They immediately set out to help me find the misplaced pieces. We finally did and they finished the installation without a problem. I'm grateful for their calm and professional demeanor, and pleased with the quality of their work. read more

A guy from Alro came out to measure our windows and a few doors. We ordered shades from The Shade Store. While we had no issue getting the measuring done, we had a really hard time trying to get a followup install appointment made. We left voicemails, and called several times and it went straight to vmail. We ended up installing the blinds ourselves and had no issue at all doing it ourselves. So 2.75 stars for service read more

I highly recommend Jesus at Alro. Jesus helped me with measuring my windows and installing over 12 different Shade Store window treatments in my new home. He was professional, courteous and knowledgable and did a fantastic job on my shades. In fact, there was an issue with how one of the shades was manufactured and Jesus helped me resolve the issue with Shade Store promptly. Alexis did a great job. Was very careful with our furniture, area and wood floors. Work was done well and completed quickly.

Jesus and Oscar were respectful and friendly and got the job done well. They had to come out twice and were great both times.

Daniel was great. Service was quick and efficient. He explained how to maintain the product and he even took away the old blinds I had.

The only reason they don't get 5 stars is that they "aren't allowed" to take the garbage from the installation with them, according to company policies. Other than that, I received a call to schedule delivery, a call to remind me and a call 30 minutes before the installers came. The first guy, so embarrassed that I can't remember his name, maybe Alexis; he has a long braid down his back. He was ultra polite and efficient. His partner, Elios, I believe, was also polite. They were both hard working and time efficient. They never stopped moving. They put up all 5 shades up in one hour. :). Very happy. read more

I live in a unit with very tall windows, almost 20 feet. Danny and Carlos were nothing short of exceptional throughout the numerous measurement and installation appointments. Getting these tall drapes up was no easy feat, and the two of them got the job done very efficiently. They were on time, honest, and easy to work and communicate with during each visit. The dispatcher called me the day before the appt to confirm. The morning of the appt, the installer called me to confirm is arrival time. Upon arrival, he used shoe protectors, and was careful with my newly refinished floors. He worked quickly and efficiently. I had a couple of questions and he answered with confidence and kindness. I did have to ask for documents that came with the product; being offered the would have been better. I highly recommend this company. read more

Alro acted as the sub contractor for installation of blinds I purchased from the shade store. The team was courteous and professional, however, their policy was to leave all the boxes and garbage from the new blinds at our house. After Arlo management learned of this issue, they promptly sent someone out the next day to retrieve the trash. Make sure you ask up front about garbage removal - other than that, the service and job done was excellent. read more

We purchased drapes and blinds from the shade store that were installed by Alexis and Helio from Alro. They provided the kind of service you hope for, but rarely see. They were polite, friendly, wore booties, explained the controls, how to charge the motors, they washed hands before installing the white curtains, and broke down all the boxes and placed them in my recycle bin.  Such service is unexpected but most welcome.  I was impressed with the entire experience. I bought shades for my house from The Shade Store. After about 1.5 years one of the valences started to fall from the wall. I called ​The Shade Store and they made an appointment for Free repair. (they stand behind their work) In less than one week, Alro called and made an appointment for repair. The customer service on the phone was 100%+ and offered different times for service, when was good for me. Santiago, my repair person, called me exactly 30 min before repair. He was polite and asked me if the time was still good (it was). When he arrived at my home he was so efficient​ and with a very pleasant personality​​y, relaxed while and respectful. I took him to the room for repair. He assessed​ the situation ~ I had a few missing parts and he went to his truck and came back with everything needed to complete the job, which he did, in about 10 minutes. Neatly cleaned up and said his goodbyes​. A perfect experience. I would use this company in a flash for any of my needs around custom installation services. You should too. Alro did the measurements for my custom drapery with The Shade Store, and came in promptly, measured, and took photos. After receiving the drapery and hardware, two installers came in to do the actual install. They arrived with two small ladders for my 20 ft high windows, checked out the emergency stairwell (where they would have to bring the ladders up) and said that their ladder was too wide to fit up the stairs. (Mind you I fit a narrow 15 ft drapery hardware box up a few days prior.) Day one of pre-arranged work-from-home failed. The woman I spoke to at the office said that the owner would come the next day himself to do the install with a bigger ladder that would definitely fit through the stairwell. The same two installers from the previous day showed up with a bigger ladder. No owner. That ladder was still not high enough to reach the ceiling. Day two work-from-home failed. I'm supposed to go back to the office in the afternoon after the install is complete, so I email the scheduler right after failed attempt #2 to find out when someone is coming so I can notify my work. "Alfred who is our company owner has contacted The Shade Store. The Shade Store should be contacting you shortly." Fail #3. So here I am, sitting around at home waiting to hear from either company, and I need to get back to the office. If Alfred or Nancy stood behind their business, they should have called to explain the situation and offer some kind of solution. Instead I followed up immediately after each attempt to find out when there would be some kind of resolution. The people I interacted seemed to be very nice people, but if you are trying to get a job done then nice doesn't cut it. They had the measurements from day one--they took them down themselves! They charge a $75 fee for last minute rescheduling and cancellations. Well my time is valuable too and they just cost me two days away from the office. The fiasco didn't end there. After the plain GAVE UP on the job, The Shade Store assigned William Dahl Installations to complete the job. A guy comes to install the track only to find out that it was measured incorrectly! They didn't leave enough clearance for the motor that attaches to the track. William Dahl's guy was great and went above and beyond to get my curtains up after taking apart the track and sawing it to fit onto the ceiling. Go with them first and don't waste your time or money with Alro. read more

We needed coverings for 2 windows and 2 glass doors. They were very responsive to our request for an appointment. In advance, they asked for and we gave them general preferences so that we could choose fabrics from a reasonable (not overwhelming) set of options. Once at our house, Alfred professionally walked us through the process for choosing fabrics and hardware. When we asked for an opinion, he gave it, with confidence and direction. He advised us when a different product - a shade or drapery - would better achieve the functionality we want (e.g., privacy, ease of use). And he shared cost differences between options so that we could factor that in. All in a friendly, logical, efficient manner. We really couldn't ask for a better experience. read more

Danny from Alro did a fantastic job installing my new Room & Board shades. I ordered shades for my son's room and the master bedroom - one room was outside mount with a valance and the other was inside mount without a valance. Danny did the measurements as well and had good advice about the placement of the valance and the configuration of the shades below (the window configuration didn't lend itself to an obvious solution). Gino from ALRO just installed my drapes in a new room addition. The construction company that did the work managed to install a sliding glass door off by 1/4 inch. Gino was able to install the hardware and drapes so that the defective window installation was not noticeable. There also were two other gentlemen ( from ALRO, just can't remember their names) that installed my front room window blinds and they did a great job too. All three were very respectable and polite.
