By far the best tasting beef in Chicago. I know Mr. Beef and Al's are rivals for the "best beef in Chicago", but my hands down favorite is Al's. There something about their ausjus that Mr. Beef doesn't come close to. We usually stop here when we are heading out of town on the expressway. read more

Well, i've eaten here a lot of the years. This place is decent. The beef, which is obviously their big seller, is good. I wouldn't say it's the best in the area, but it's good. Their fries are excellent. And their hot dogs are good. But, aside from that, I don't care for much here. I used to like the hamburgers a lot, but they seem to have changed vendors and the burgers just don't taste very good anymore. The chicken on the chicken sandwiches is also below par for me. If you're in the area and don't want to go a little further down the street for a beef sandwich, then go here. But, aside from that, I can't recommend this place. I usually feel like I did not get my money's worth when i'm done here. read more

I love Tinley's Al's Italian beef....but I don't eat their Italian beef. I eat their burgers. Their fresh cut fries are the best. The staff accommodates my request for no salt on them without a problem. The burger is basic. Nice char-grilled taste. I get with grilled onions, so the burger is juicy. Love the fact I can get free refills on soda. But then I moved closer to Al's/ Nancy's Oak Lawns location. Went to their location but was disappointed with the food, just not as good. So when I want a good burger FAST with some great fries I travel back to the Tinley Park location. Don't know what they do different ,it's just better. read more

Best beef, We drive 20 miles just to go here, blow's Portillo's out of the water. Only down fall is that skinny Mexican Indian girl what ever she is. She doesn't do a damn thing around there. She has everyone bringing her Dunkin Donuts drinks or other stuff. Must of seen 4 different black guys with in half hour bringing her something. Besides that, it's ran very good there. Hand cut fries always just out of the basket. My favorite Italian Beef and I have been to Mr. Beef and Johnnies Beef which has a great charbroiled Italian sausage cooked over charcoal with sweet peppers and many other good Italian beef places. I ask them to dip it and sometimes drown it in their incredible gravy and have eaten many of their Italian Beefs over the years. Al's is definitely on the expensive side. read more

I passed through the area and stopped by Al's Beef in Tinley Park for a taste of my favorite Chicago sandwich: Italian beef and sausage combo. The sandwich in the store was pretty good, but definitely not the best in the Chicago metro area. But here's my beef, so to speak. The sandwich was good enough that I ordered another to go. I warmed it up the next morning. On my 8-inch roll was plenty of beef but only a ONE-INCH piece of Italian sausage. They char-grill the sausages and obviously must have run out, except for that little piece. Since it was to-go, I guess it was screw the customer time. read more

Pricey sandwiches for mediocre service. The employees here do not even greet you with the basic niceties. It feels as if you are bothering them by buying their food. Also, do not believe them when they say they deliver. That is just not true. More often than not their delivery services are closed. Pricey food, substandard service, and false advertising. The customer service in this place is the worse...I place my order at 5:47...Got PART of my order within about 8 minutes...But the rest of my order took another 20 minutes...20 more minutes for two hamburgers and two fries...By the time I got them the first part of our order was COLD....And they also SHORTED me an order of fries... One of my bosses favorite places so I come here for him often, I have never had a complaint until today. Usually the workers are more than friendly, today there was a girl I have never seen before with a horrible attitude. She made it seem like I was inconveniencing her for her having to do what she gets paid to do. This will be the last time I eat Al's Beef. Definitely noticeable they have cut back on portions. Hot dog was the size of a pencil and mostly bun. Hamburger was thin layer of meat once again mostly bun. The only thing that saves this place- the best fries. Other than that no reason to go there. Please instead of cutting down on size raise the prices. I would rather pay more than leave feeling like I just wasted my money on a bad meal. This place gets one star for the fries. read more

Been going to ALS beef for a number of years now.. It's always been good to me! The beef sandwich with sweet peppers is my usual and is always good! The burgers are excellent, I have also had the chicken wraps which are good to.. Chili cheese fries are sloppy but good also.. Only reason I took off a star is because sometimes it's a longer wait then usual.. Danny is the manager and is always attentive and helpful! read more

I really don't get all the hype about this franchise. I've been to several of them and the beef is good, but only good. There are a ton of mom & pop beef joints around Chicago and the suburbs that blow this place out of the water. For a lot less money too. Clean and cheerful stores though. read more

The cashier was horrible she had a very bad attitude. When I received my food, it was disgusting. The worst beef sandwich I've ever had in my life. The frozen beef from the grocery store tasted better. It was extremely greasy. It was so greasy that the bread was saturated with grease and very mushy. When I touched the sandwich my hands were covered with grease. It was almost as if the sandwich was dipped into grease after it was prepared. Then the fries were terrible. They were so greasy that I could squeeze grease from fry each time I picked one up. Needless to say, I did not eat that food. The service was so poor I felt that I would rather have wasted $11 than return and ask for better food. I left the restaurant wishing I had gone somewhere else. Delicious Beef Sandwiches!! You just can't go wrong when eating there. This is one franchise that keeps the food the same as the original.

I had Al's cater a little party for me and they were just great about it. Everything was ready on time, the manager was most helpful and when I decided at the last minute that I wanted some french fries, he went out of his way to get them for me . The beef and sausage was great, juicy, flavorfull, plenty of gravy and peppers. Their one pound beef package says 5 or 6 sandwiches, but I would disagree. It makes four good sandwiches. If anyone has problems there is is sometimes with the kids that work there. You have to check your order before you leave. I have no complaints with them and have been going there and on Taylor for years. Far better then their competitors whom I won't name here.I have tried them all. read more
