I wanted to replace carpet with laminate, Al came by with samples. I was looking for two bids, for the LR/DR and for the 3 BRs, which he provided, ad also provided a total for everything. I had the entire house done, plus new baseboards in the BRs; his son Steve did it all himself! His work is superb, he even molded the surround around the fireplace to match the outline of the stone. I had one front bedroom that needed the carpet replaced, i selected a looped berber. Darker than the rest of new berber carpet. Steve & Manny arrived 10min early and got right to work. They showed me what was underneath (no hardwoods, but 50's standard tiles) and explained what material the original flooring was, and areas that looked like there had been leaks or water damage - advised i pay attn come winter rains; they patched areas were tiles were missing (ensures even and level-ness). I have laminate flooring in my kitchen. I created a rather large divot in the flooring when I dropped a heavy object that landed, pointy end into the floor. I had a couple extra pieces that I hoped could be substituted. Al's son came, and was able to repair the damage without having to pull up the broken piece and replace it. I know where the damage was, but I cannot see it when standing up, and have to get within inches to find it--not that I am likely to do that. I never thought repair was possible, but they did a great job, and I still have my replacement pieces in case I need them at a later damage. Oh, did I mention that the charge was more than reasonable? I am thoroughly pleased, and recommend Al's whole heartedly. read more

Update: Carpet was installed a couple of months ago and I have had a squeak that won't go away. I called Al and he sent his team over to check it out. The other guy came first with a couple of samples and provided a satisfactory quote but didn't know much about the carpet he was selling. On the other hand Al showed up with an entire truck bed full of carpet samples to choose from. He looked at the home, listened intently to our needs which included the spilling of black coffee and lack of ability to clean it immediately and make his recommendations. He took the time to explain in detail about how the carpet we liked was made and why it was a great purchase for our needs.
