I have never heard of B's Hot Chicken before the day we visited, but it was a great experience. B's Hot Chicken offers drive thru, as well as in store ordering via self-kiosk or with a staff member. The reason for our visit was they were offering a free sandwich, tender, or slushie. Not sure what the reason behind this offer was, but who doesn't love free food? We weren't sure how to order for the free items on self-kiosk, so a staff member assisted us at their register. My sister and I both ordered the free chicken sandwich. Our spice levels were different by choice; mine was mild and hers was medium. For a free sandwich, it was great. It was better than I expected. I liked that the chicken was decently sized. I loved that the buns of the sandwich were on the smaller side. I don't like when there is more bread than meat. read more

Definitely a let down. I tasted some fries that my friend got and those were very solid. Employees were friendly, and the restaurant seemed clean, but not the most pleasant. The booths were very old and cracked, decor was pretty unappealing, and it just seems like all the decor and ambiance needs to be revamped. It all seems pretty old. Really good chicken! One of the better chicken spots I've had in the Tacoma area for sure. I made an online order for two tenders, one "Hot" and one "Extra Hot". Both tenders were very seasoned, juicy, appropriately spicy and crunchy with a good batter to chicken ratio. I'll be curious to try their sides next visit. I like Nashville hot chicken and this is the only option in town. Decided to give them a try. The menu is kind of confusing and the couple ahead of me struggled to order. I just wanted to TRY the food and didn't want to order a big meal. Ended up getting a side order of a single chicken tender (Hot) and a side order waffle. Went for the waffle first (best when fresh and hot). Looked good until I flipped the waffle over and saw it was BURNT on the other side. Come on guys! Don't hide the burnt side and serve it, MAKE ANOTHER ONE. I scraped the burnt off and ate it anyway. Waffle wasn't very good. It had WAY TOO MUCH sugar in the batter and I couldn't finish it. I was really excited to try B's Hot Chicken. Its drive thru informs you that there will be a wait time for your meal. But honest, it's worth the wait. The chicken came out hot and fresh, perfect! You can choose your spice level, I ordered a level 4 which was just the kind of heat I was looking for. I would want to try a level 5 next time just to see how hot it goes! The size of the chicken tenders for the sandwich were solid, good sized chunky pieces. I opted for slaw instead of fries, that was my only mistake. The slaw was too sugary sweet for me and didn't have much flavor other than that. You definitely come here for the chicken and not the sides that's for sure. Ordered takeout for dinner tonight from B's Hot Chicken. My partner picked up the meal, it wasn't ready at the time it was supposed to be, but a lot of restaurants do that and actually cook it right when you arrive so that you take it hot, so that wasn't a huge deal. I cannot speak to the ambience or the cleanliness of the restaurant. I can speak to the food- it was absolutely fantastic! I had the chicken sandwich meal- mild. I did read reviews prior to picking up food from here, and everyone says that the spice level is unbearable, so I ordered mild. My partner on the other hand ordered very hot- he struggled to eat his sandwich. But the chicken was so crispy and juicy and had amazing taste in flavor. It was seriously one of the best chicken sandwiches that I've had. My fries were also fantastically seasoned and crispy and the two sauces you can get are the white sauce or the pink sauce and they were both really good. Not a fan at all! The biggest compliment that I can give is that there is a drive thru but waiting over 30 minutes in it (after ordering) is just not acceptable! Even with the posted sign saying "You're Paying for good food, not fast food". We ordered a #1 and a # 3. They were basically one strip meal and a two-strip meal. They came with fries and a drink, which came to about $30 and some change. The chicken was juicy but really had no taste. There was a lot of dry rub without much seasoning taste. We had a slice of white bread. Two pickles per tender and the worst crinkle fries that I have ever had. The seasoning on the fries was just, blah! Not salty, not sweet, just there! Ok so I like decently spicy and I usually always get level 3 at Thai restaurants so I got a level 3 here but it was SO hot I barely enjoyed it. So they definitely have the southern kick that i am not used to. The sandwich was fried so well and stayed crunchy the whole time i was basically crying and gasping for air while eating it (~25 mins). The next day the spice was coming out the back end and that's the first time I ever experienced that. I would want to try again but obviously a lower spice level. I did read other reviews saying it's so dirty so I'm a little hesitant since i did order door dash and there was sauce and oil all over the wrapper/containers our food were in -- which i don't particularly care about but it does show a little sloppiness. Fry sauce was better than the Ranch - which was not up to Ranch aficionado criteria at all. Husband reported his sandwich was tasty. Both of us thought the spice coating was a tad heavy handed but not in heat level. The spice coating did not really enhance the tenders but overwhelmed it in my opinion. Fries were pretty decent. The Mac & Cheese good- it was so hot temperature wise - noodles a bit overcooked. The cheese sauce was delicious though. My tenders came with 2 slices of untoasted white bread. Did not eat. Sliced pickles were a nice touch. Cashier was personable. The restaurant was dirty and the bathrooms were even grosser. Had I gone to the bathroom first, I likely would not have stayed to order. There was an unmentionable smear on the outlet, no seat covers, no soap, and no paper towels!!!!!! Food had potential BUT if the dining area not clean ( trash bins full) , tables had debris, and the bathrooms atrocious, one can only imagine what the kitchen might be like. Let me start by saying I would give this place 10 stars on customer service! The young lady at the register, Camelle was a sweetheart. She was very welcoming and patient with us as we ordered. She made our experience one to remember. She explained everything to us and made recommendations. Food was yummy. I have a super high tolerance for heat but glad I stuck with a 4 heat. I enjoyed every bite. The restaurant was clean and well kept. When we arrived there was only one couple there, by the time we left the restaurant had lots of other people. I visited this place with a friend to give it a try. I ordered the #4 combo, which included a tender, a sandwich, fries, and a drink, while my friend opted for just the tender and fries. In hindsight, I should have gone with just the tender and fries as well. The tender and sandwich were essentially the same, with the tender served on a piece of white bread and the sandwich on a bun with coleslaw. There was no difference between the chicken patty in the sandwich and the tender. I ordered the medium spice level, but it wasn't hot at all. Surprisingly, the ketchup added more spice than the chicken itself. The chicken was quite messy, staining my fingers for a while, although the spice didn't seem to linger. The cheese on my sandwich was more like nacho sauce. The fries, however, were excellent--crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. My meal cost $17, which seemed steep for decent chicken. It could have been shared between two people, making it a bit more reasonable. While the food was good, I'm not sure it was worth $17. We stopped by for lunch and decided to dine in after seeing a couple of Instagram ads for this place. The inside is really small but there was only one other table dining in when we got there and then a couple people came after us, but otherwise pretty empty in there. The servers were pretty nice in explaining the sauces and telling us what they liked, but when our food came up they didn't tell us which sandwich was which since we ordered different heat levels. I had to go back up to the counter to ask and it took a couple of minutes for anyone to come back out. We ordered meal #5, which came with two sandwiches, a fry, and a drink, and we also ordered the loaded fries. The flavor of the chicken was honestly really good, the seasoning is great. I enjoyed the sauces a lot, although I do wish there were more sauce options. I also think that you'd be better off not ordering a chicken sandwich since it's literally just one tender in a bun. I feel like when you order a chicken sandwich you would expect either two tenders or a chicken breast, especially since it's not all that cheap. We paid almost $40 for what we ordered. You just end up with a lot of leftover bread with just a tender in between. I really liked the loaded fry bowl, and I would most likely order only that if I went here again. My husband and I tried this place out for the first time last weekend, it's very delicious! The chicken, the fries, really good :) We tried B'S EXTRA HOT chicken & it was SPICY. Like..... SPICY. I'm not talking from a weak spice tolerance perspective. I'm talking from a serrano pepper lover perspective. So far we've tried spice level #5 & #6, we're not going to get that anymore We're going to go for the medium spice level because WE WILL eat here again. Th ONLY complaint is that the first time we got a chicken sandwich, the size of the chicken was not the greatest.
