Went there tonight with another couple. I got the fish and chips. The fish was good, the french fries tasted like they were cooked in the same oil that the fish was. My friend and my wife got a lobster roll - it was the smallest lobster roll we have ever seen, but it was good. His wife got the popcorn shrimp, which was tasty. Service was good, but the place smelled like a musty dish rag. We will not be going back. On the way home my wife said "why did you agree to go there, that place sucks every time we go there" (we give it another try about once a summer). You order outside and for us it was delivered all at once. Couldn't eat salad before main meal got cold. Environment is definitely vacation hurry/fired food. To add insult to injury, they wouldn't let us add to the order without giving up a credit card. Reason: we might leave without paying. HOW INSULTING. The food was subpar, the shrimp was gross, the Ken's sweet and sour sauce was overly congealed, my son did not eat one bite of his grilled cheese, and the french fries were super greasy. Clam chowder was decent service was awful and took 45 minutes to get our food. Came here recently for the first time with family. The food was overall really good. The lobsters were tasty and fresh. The fried haddock was really good. We liked the steamers so much, we ordered seconds. The clam chowder could use some improvement. It was extremely salty and also came lukewarm. I could not eat it after 3 spoonfuls. We left Maine but still craving for lobster so we found Al's Seafood on Yelp. They had everything from seafood to meats which was perfect because my youngest sin wanted a burger. We ordered the twin lobster platter, grilled salmon dinner with baked Mac & cheese, cheeseburger with bacon that came with fries, calamari, a dozen oysters, lobster stew and coconut shrimp for about $120. Half good...half not so good. On a cold icy winter day soup sounded like a good choice for dinner. Drove by Al's and pulled into the lot. Went with a bowl of lobster stew and a cup of clam chowder. The lobster stew was solid, nice salty seafood broth base with cream to thicken and chunks of Maine lobster to make it hearty. The chowder was a huge disappointment. No seasoning, no salt and almost no clams made for almost no taste. Good thing I had the large in the stew and the small on the chowder. Side note, really nice fish market here too. read more

I am not usually a seafood eater,but on occasion,I do get in the mood for fried seafood,and that is what I had yesterday! I had the clam strips plate,and it was excellent. Also the server that my friend and I had was super friendly!!! I love the atmosphere,and the fact that the portions are so plentiful. I usually finish my food when I go anywhere,but not this time!! This is a sit down diner but a paper plates kind of casual place. Still, the food was better than those super expensive tourist traps on the coast. I got the lobster and seafood au gratin because it was on special and I had to give it a whirl. OMG - it was the BEST seafood au gratin I've ever had! And it came in a paper bowl! I'm ecstatic! It tasted FRESH. I also got warm sides - squash! Yum! I was practically licking my plates. I can't wait to come back here and try everything. After several days in Hampton Beach in early September and paying outlandish prices for food at the "lobster shacks"...we decided to go to Hampton. Here too prices were out of this world. I realized a few days before I had paid $22 for 4 pounds of lobster in Burlington, they wanted $18 for a lobster roll. I decided against paying for taking the lobster out of the shell. I ordered a large fish chowder which was good and reasonable. My husband had clams which were good but expensive. We had seafood and clam chowders which were very good and thick. My grilled salmon was perfect, and the haddock sandwich was excellent. The coleslaw was notable for what it was not: soggy. The slaw was crisp with a not overbearing amount of dressing. The mini whoopie pie trio (vanilla, chocolate, pb) was the perfect topper for a delightful lunch. read more
