Came here for a gyro and empanadas. Small, extremely nice, with attention to detail. Only one or two there to "serve" (i.e. take my behind the counter order), but explanations of the food and such were very nice. Good sized servings and very tasty. Couldn't even finish my gyro, so I passed on the empanadas (and was offered a sample size, which was cool, but I was still too full). Really nice, especially for a person alone (me), but I'm sure it would be great for larger parties as well. read more

Nice place to get food in downtown Idaho Falls. The food was healthy and reasonably priced. Many vegan and vegetarian options which was nice. The wait on a Friday night in all was about 45 minutes. The people were very nice though they just don't have many staff it seems like. The cafe was very cute but they close at 8 so it seems more like a lunch spot maybe. read more

Found this little gym while researching healthy options for restaurants in Idaho Falls. Hubby had the giro with a side salad and their cucumber yogurt dressing. I had their Greek salad. Found myself in Idaho Falls for a work trip and this place stood out to me for its vegan/vegetarian options. I was delighted to find a meat menu and a vegetarian menu side by side, and an incredibly helpful gentleman to answer any questions I had. I had the falafel platter with the house made cashew tzatziki - 10/10 kind of like vegan chicken nuggets and it hit the spot, very girl lunch. I also had the cheese and bean empanada - super good, great spices. If you're passing through and need something quick and healthy, stop by! This is a quaint little restaurant. In Downtown Idaho Falls on Park close to Broadway it's easy to get to and challenging to park close by. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable, the food was superb, and my meal was an overall wonderful experience. I met another diner and we had some nice conversation. We took the family out to dinner on a Saturday night. Looking for something different as our one son & his wife are both vegan. Don't ask me. Anyway we ended up here as they have quite a variety of vegan options. Our son the vegan didn't order anything and his wife got like tomato soup or something. Our other daughter got the Schwarma she said it was delicious. Her daughter got the Greek salad. My wive got pizza. I got the BLTT and the bean & cheese empanadas. Delicious. I'm spoiled with amazing vegan food back home and have been hunting for great spots along the way to YS. What a site for sore eyes. We loved the Vegan Bean and Cheese empanadas and a giant order of homemade fries. Would love to try the rest of the menu. The own we immediately greeted me at the door and was very helpful. We enjoyed a delicious lunch (takeout) from this restaurant yesterday. We ordered roast beef sandwiches, empanadas, and a BLT. Also a delicious smoothie and lemonade. All very fresh, made to order, delicious local produce. If in Idaho Falls, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for healthy, fresh, delicious food. Thank you. Came back again, Raymond split our order into two separate plates, without even asking. The empanadas were so delicious. We LOVE this place!!! He explained all the food and his process. We were lucky to find this spot in Idaho falls since there are not that many vegan options around. Altavita caters to vegans / GF / and meat eaters. On a recent visit to East Idaho, we were looking for a place to get dinner before heading back to Boise. Debating what sounded best, we happened to stumble upon Altavida on Yelp and were intrigued by the menu. While my girlfriend is not vegan or vegetarian, she does enjoy those meals frequently and was very happy with the salad she had. I had the 3 Empanada plate which she had one of and it was really good and filling. We also tried the vegan brownie for dessert. The staff were incredibly friendly and the service was solid and timely. This is a good choice for anyone who wants to eat on the healthier side, but also a restaurant where it seems there is something for everyone regardless of dietary restrictions. Our daughter is vegetarian so we wanted to eat somewhere that would cater to her. We found it!!! The actually will cater to anyone's needs with amazing food!! Our daughter had a great looking and tasting falafel, my wife had an incredible grass feed meat burger and I decided to try something a little vegetarian and go with the cashew burger. Gave this one a try. Menu varies quite a bit. It's a little bit of everything from empanadas to schwarma to falafel to burgers. There are vegan and non-vegan options. Ingredients are fresh. I ordered the falafel wrap with a side of fries. Wrap was good but could have been great had the falafel been prepared/cooked correctly. They were puck shaped but were smashed down way too much. Should be ice hockey puck thickness not air hockey puck thickness, or left in their traditional ball shape. The falafel should have also been much crispier on the outside and probably needed to be left in the fryer longer. The falafel mix could have also taken more parsley/cilantro. Feels like they are heading in the right direction so will give them another try down the road. read more

If you aren't gluten free, this is an amazing restaurant. If you are gluten free, this may be the best restaurant you'll ever eat at. The amount of variety and quality of each dish, the incredible freshness of the food and great care of the wait staff-- I have never been to a comparable restaurant that was not at least 3x the price for each dish. Not only did they have wonderful gluten free and dairy free options, but their portions were incredibly generous and filling while maintaining an elevated palate. Much of their menu is made from scratch in house using locally sourced ingredients. I cannot say enough to praise the dedication and creativity of the owner in maintaining such a high standard of dining. I cannot wait to try their sister restaurant in Pocatello.
