There aren't many restaurants opened on a Sunday in Idaho Falls. We were right in the historic downtown and stumbled upon Pie Hole, one of the only few places even open! The restaurant is very casual, and counter order. There are a few tables in there for dining, but the place isn't large. Service was kind, and the food was great. I decided to try this place at Lunchtime this week to see if the pizza quality was any better than my other past visits. I'm convinced that unless you're standing by as they take it out fresh from the oven, it will always just be "OK" at best. I've tried other locations and it's always the same quality. I would like to say that sometimes"OK" is all you may want or need at the time. If that's the case be prepared to be marginally satisfied here if you don't expect fresh or flavorful. We decided to try the Thai Chicken Pizza and Pesto Veggie pizzas, and cheesy garlic bread as a side. When we arrived, the place was empty so we were able to seat our large group. Thai Chicken pizza was good, thin crust, 19" but nothing to write home about. The Pesto Veggie pizza came with chicken added on, though we had not requested any .....so the vegetarians in the group stuck to cheese garlic bread. Shame since this was better tasting than the Thai chicken pizza. The Thai Chicken Pizza had a peanut base, with sliced green onions, cilantro and chicken on top. It was actually really good. The BBQ Chicken was tasty as well. WOW. The Thai Chicken Pizza! Love a good Asian-inspired pizza. My husband and I have VERY different tastes when it comes to pizza so I was so glad they could they could accommodate half and half. Ordered takeout here on a Tuesday night to bring back to our hotel and it was a great comfort meal on a cold night. Note that they just have one size (8 large slices). I called at 7:45pm and they said it'd be ready at 8:15pm. Arrived there at 8:15pm and it was another 15mins for it to be ready, but they were apologetic. Overall a solid pizza option in Idaho Falls. We stopped by Pie Hole on our way back west from Wyoming. With the number of US covid cases breaking records during our time here, I was glad to see that all the employees were masked up properly (over the nose, not touching their masks, etc) which we did not see in many establishments during our trip. We felt safe ordering from them and glad that we stopped by as the pizza was delicious and the ingredients tasted fresh. Loved the Thai chicken flavor and the potato bacon flavor was really unique and helped us satisfy our potato craving while in Idaho. Highly recommend trying if you pass by here. read more

This place reminded me a lot of a pizza-by-the-slice joint back in Oregon called American Dream Pizza. It has a great vibe. We have a Pie Hole here in Salt Lake City as well, so it could be a franchise (though it doesn't feel like it). While you can order whole fresh pizza, everyone in our group grabbed slices. They way it works is you choose a slice, and they put back in the oven to reheat. I had 2 slices: pulled pork with onions and jalapeños and pepperoni with added mushrooms and olives. Both were great, though the pulled pork was a clear winner. I would have preferred more mushrooms and olives on my second slice, but it was also very good. Everyone else in our group enjoyed their slices as well (pepperoni, Hawaiian, and another pizza I can't remember). I think they call this New York-style pizza. The crust in thin and crispy and the slices are large so you can fold them. The service was good. The lady at the counter definitely fit the vibe with nose rings and tattoos, but she also called everyone "honey" which I found quaint. The price was also excellent. My two large slices with extra toppings only cost $7.50, and it was more than enough. I will definitely go back if I am in Idaho Falls again. read more
