I have been searching for a local shop to handle oil changes and minor maintenance work for my son's Subaru and I think my search is now over. As I stated, I just needed an oil change for my son's car (synthetic oil) and Nate and the guys in the back took care of that in record time. I had an appointment at 2pm and the mechanic came out at 2:25 to let me know the scheduled work was completed. My son mentioned that his A/C had been blowing warm recently, and the mechanic said he could take a look at it now. Before I knew it, the A/C had been topped off and it still wasn't the top of the hour. All I can say is fantastic service from this shop. $70 for a synthetic oil change for the Subie, plus the additional cost for A/C service. I did make an appointment for this visit, but I saw many others coming in as I waited to drop of vehicles for future service. If you're local to Castle Rock and seeking a shop you can trust, I highly recommend ColorAuto Service and Repair.

The service advisor looked me dead in the eye and claimed that to fix my issue, the entire transmission had to be "dropped," and boldfaced lied by claiming that aftermarket parts "don't exist" for this car. They also tried to lock me down with a predatory diagnostic fee even though I told them what was wrong and what part needed to be replaced. Luckily, I trusted my gut, got my car out of there and actually opened my hood. The switch in question is fully visible and accessible from the top of the engine bay directly underneath the battery tray. It is an exterior, dry component that takes 1 to 2 hours to change--the transmission does not need to be dropped at all. Furthermore, premium Tier-1 European aftermarket suppliers (like VEMO) make exact-fit versions of this part readily available all over the internet.Either this shop is completely incompetent when it comes to working on European vehicles, or they took me for a fool and tried to manufacture thousands of dollars in fake labor costs to rip me off.Avoid Double D at all costs. Do your research, look under your own hood, and don't let them take advantage of you. I was just lazy and didn't do the job myself. So what would've been an easy 500 or $600 bill for them turned into roughly $250 spent because I did it myself.

But they are. How do I know? The CR location were in the middle of working on my truck and didn't tell me when they closed. Took my money and ran. I ordered parts to have installed and was assured they would work which ended up not fitting - the icing on top. So I'm out close to $600 to ruin my vehicle. Now, let the fun begin. It took me 2 weeks of calling different factions, but I was able to find their other shop (registered under the same LLC) who informed me "Oh, yeah, that shop is closed." That's awesome - when did you intend on telling me? Why did the techs there suddenly stop texting me back? CO springs stated that they had "no idea" about my vehicle or situation. But offered to help me make it right, apologizing profusely. So when they asked me to drive 55 miles to drop it off, I wasn't happy, but I thought OK, they're trying. Big mistake. After taking the day off from work ($XXX) and wasting my limited personal time driving 110 total miles ($XX in gas) I was also forced to uber from the shop to a coffee place to try and kill X hours before paying to uber back to the shop. I arrived to find my vehicle's windows down parked under a pollenating tree. Nice. Started the car, it sounded OK. Better than before. Ten minutes into my highway trip home I was mortified to hear and then see a clamp fall off and start bouncing up the highway. Moments later the pipe disconnect and began to hang. The cabin stunk of exhaust fumes and the vehicle sounded like a hellcat with open headers. Once safely home - I contacted the shop to tell them, but were closed. I texted the contact I had there (not dropping names) and they offered to "tow it back Monday" hours later. What has this shop done to instill any confidence in me? How do you expect anyone with a single braincell to then trust you enough to tow it 55 miles back and forth without my supervision? Are you kidding me? Here's the best part. When I asked for a refund on the original work - not the time and money spent since getting it "fixed" - I was told that the CO springs location is not responsible for a refund since the castle rock location did the work and they are not affiliated. HAHAHAHHAH. What business would EVER take in someone's vehicle that was f'd up by shop offering to make it right for free? What world do you live in???? You guys need to get your stuff together. I hope this was worth my $450, which I'm already contesting with my bank.
