It all started in Labor Day 2021, when I had just flown here from Arlington, VA (Washington, DC), to "hug my dad for surviving COVID," as he returned home from the hospital after starting at the VA, then being at a private hospital for 5-weeks, and he was scheduled to be discharged Labor Day weekend, just as his basement sewage plumbing backed up! I was so overwhelmed. I called 1.800 Water Mitigation, to remove all the HAZMAT, then get going on the dehumidifiers, fans, and worked with USAA to re-build the entire basement thereafter, and for the stopped-up toilet, I called Hyper Flow. James helped me snake the basement toilet, and begin to explain all of home plumbing to me. That was 4-years ago. Then I began hiring Hyper Flow to slowly rebuild two upstairs toilets that my dad had perhaps not maintained as well as ideal (he was on fixed income, after all, so no judgment), as well as the two upstairs bathroom sinks, then ultimately I hired them to replace the Kitchen Sink Faucet (James did this work, as Brian was the manager, who helped me assess the problem and do the estimate). James also helped me get my Water Heater (that a different company installed, that was no up-to-code) up to code, per the retroactive Home Inspection, and James helped me install a mainline water shutoff. My house is finally in ship-shape - on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC - all thanks to Kyle, the owner of Hyper Flow. Highly recommend! FYI, they've also jetted my lateral sewage line pipes - twice - and I will be hiring them for the excavation of the line that connects to my HOA main sewage line, before it connects to the City of Denver, once that time comes. Others have quoted over the phone $250-$450 (but they can't get to it until late next week at the earliest). The water heater itself would be $1500 to replace! There is no way this job was even 1/3 of $1400! He also said he DOES NOT do diagnostic for free; and that is $365 (later put in his estimate $233). So, Plumbline mis-represented that as well -- since I literally have it documented from their rep via text that they will do the diagnostic for free. All of that is highway robbery. They also wasted our workday by coming out 4 hours later than the END of the originally scheduled window of time (they did call to say they are running late). We should bill THEM for that time staying home ALL day on a workday -- instead of the planned half day. WE DO NOT recommend these guys. Seems like they are just another company that hopes folks accept an outrageous estimate because they are already in your home after accepting a $49 or Free estimate. We went with one of the quotes that are WAY LOWER and waited until they were available. Fixed for $250 TOTAL!

This was a time they offered up as I was trying to get them to come earlier, but decided it made more sense and since they said I would be "first up" on their schedule, I figured fine why not. At 9:20 I texted them asking what their ETA was. At that point I received a text changing my appointment to 9:30-10:30. At 10:50 a technician showed up. I showed the guy what I needed, mentioned that I'd used them before and said I just wanted the same thing they offered me last time. He said "our system is different now hold on" and he proceeds to pull out an iPad that has prices ranging from $780-$2,500 for the "platinum" package whatever the hell that means. I just needed a faucet replaced, which I thought would be no more than $400 or so (a little higher than the price I paid two years ago). He told me "well prices have increased" and I said not by that much. I asked him to explain how much of the price was parts, how much was labor, and he said it's the flat rate they charge for that job. When it became clear that he was not going to budge, I politely asked him to leave. There are so many other options, and maybe I should have been a little smarter about doing it in a cheaper way, but the way I was treated on scheduling and the company's scammy pricing was enough to have me come back and change my review.

I've used Elite once before, and I decided to use them again. But this last time when they showed up, I scheduled what should have been a simple $79 annual pipe cleaning. Instead, it immediately turned into a hard-sell pitch for an $8,500 trench-digging and pipe replacement -- a major job that might be needed someday, but certainly not urgently like they claimed. (Mind you, they didn't even guarantee that this would fix all my problems. They said there might need to be more jobs that get done after this $8,500 job. ) They used sales tactics to try to scar me and make me think that I would only be getting this price for one day. I declined MULTIPLE TIMES because I wanted a second opinion, and I'm very glad I did. ALSO - Despite paying the $79, they didn't even clear the roots from the drain -- they just told me it was "too overrun" and then pushed the upsell anyway. After that, I received phone calls from them twice a day for a week trying to get me to schedule the expensive work. And Elite kept calling me. Trying to see what they could do to "earn my business". Eventually I got into a long discussion with one of their salesmen, and long story short, they talked me into considering them for a hydrojetting job. - Which would clear my roots, and they could then decide how bad my pipes were and what kind of further service I would need. Which they quoted me $1,600 for. Eventually, I had another trusted local plumber take a look. And they confirmed I had roots and a few other minor problems. But the roots were definitely the biggest problem that are causing my backups. and he also suggested hydro jetting done by his friend. So I scheduled him and he charged me a fraction of Elite Rooters 1,600 dollar price tag. I was blown away by how simple the hydrojetting process was, because by that price point, Elite told me I thought it was such a complex process. Bottom line: This company uses high-pressure tactics, inflated pricing, and artificially urgent sales pitches. Don't be fooled by the $79 "special." Hire a reputable local plumber -- you'll save money and avoid the corporate upsell games.
