As a home owner using Altos as a property management company, I very highly recommend them. I had 4 properties with a different management company (Belong). When going through budgeting I found that Belong was ripping us off, and taking advantage of us by overcharging for services and fees (long story, just stay away from Belong). I found Altos through our insurance broker and was connected with Justin. Justin made it extremely easy for us to move off Belong and in with Altos. Their management fee is very competitive, over one percent less than what Belong was taking. So far every interaction with Justin has been positive and I feel he is actually caring for my tenants so they no longer feel pressured to leave (like they were with Belong). All the service requests that have been made by tenants are taken care of quickly, and I don't feel that I have to oversee them anymore. Their contractors are top notch too. They are giving me reasonable quotes for work and I no longer have to worry that I'm going to be charged $400+ just to change a lightbulb. I cannot recommend Altos more. read more

This is an update to a review that I left quite some time ago and we are still dealing with the horrible repercussions of what this property management company did to us. This review particularly pertains to Justin Acolla, a property manager at Altos realty advisors in Sunnyvale California. After assuring us that are belongings we're going to be packed up and placed outside in our backyard Justin Acolla and two other individuals, one by the name of Tony Vallaqua, I do not know the other person's name, proceeded to instruct us to leave our home while they packed up our belongings and placed them outside in our backyard reassuring us that everything would be okay. They instructed us to leave our home for 3 days after which we arrived back at our home and all of our belongings had been removed from our home the contents of our garage heirlooms Family treasures personal paperwork furniture the contents of our entire bedroom our sons entire bedroom and everything that was in our living room had been taken away never to be seen again. We placed many calls to Altos realty advisors many calls to Justin Acolla himself and not once did we receive a call back from this company not once did we receive a call back from Justin akala we even went to the Sunnyvale Police department and made a police report with an extensive list of everything that had been stolen from us by them and the police made one phone call to Justin Acolla who told the police that that was a lawful move out and the police officer told us that there was no crime committed and that they weren't going to pursue this as a case and the matter was dropped and we were told to go away we were homeless without our belongings and we couldn't even make a police report. Please keep in mind that this house that this property manager was evicting us from was the family home that I grew up in that I lived in for 65 years that was in my mother's name who had recently become incapacitated and suddenly Justin Acolla showed up on the scene saying that my mother had appointed him to evict me from the house I had lived my entire life in. Nothing has been done about this except just this year I was asked to sign something saying that the eviction was going to be reversed from an attorney that was evicting me with Justin Acolla, his name is Todd rothbard and the eviction is still on my record. I personally do not see how it is possible that a property manager who was never the property manager on my house that I was living in that belong to my mother who had been recently incapacitated how she could sign Justin Acolla on to evicting me which is something she would never do and him actually get away with this. My wife and I were treated like second class citizens by this company Altos realty advisors in Sunnyvale who didn't have the common courtesy to even return our phone calls and talk to us about all of our belongings being stolen by one of the property managers and two individuals that helped him and to not have the police even take a report from us is sickening. Justin Acolla is supposedly a property manager who is supposed to help find housing for the homeless when in fact he was praying on us made us homeless and stole all of our life-long belongings. There's a racket going on in Santa Clara county and it involves companies like Altos realty advisors they also have another office in Denver Colorado and I believe that they are all working together. What happened was an absolute shame and tragedy and the fact that we can't even go to our local police department and make a report is unbelievable. How in the world could my incapacitated mother appoint Justin as property manager of her home he's never been property manager for her home and have me evicted I just don't understand that if my mother was incapacitated how could he have done this she wouldn't be able to put him in charge of anything. And nobody in the judicial system will listen to us nobody! Since when is it police officers choice to take a report or not take a report that's unbelievable! I wouldn't use Altos realty advisors ever, in fact I never did, how these people were able to come in and steal all of our belongings from the family home and not have anything done about it is just ridiculous! The people that work for altos realty advisors are liars thieves and opportunists just waiting to take advantage of good people who never did anything to them all behind the anticipation of gain of money. This company makes me sick to my stomach when I think about the damage they have caused my family. And the laws that they broke and that are they are getting away with makes me even more sick to my stomach because it says there is no protection out there for anyone and you could lose everything that you ever had in a moment's notice if you are dealing with this type of company. read more

We rented a a Townhouse from Altos Realty Advisors from 11/2018 to 03/2021 and we loved it! The only reason we left was that we wanted a bigger house. My experience with Altos is Great! My family rented a duplex in Santa Clara for 15 months. We really like the place as it's pretty spacious for the price and also all utilities are included in rent (except Internet). The neighborhood is also pretty safe, but we have to move out to a bigger place since my brother just got married. Overall, Chris is really responsive and be on top of our request/concern. Everything is available for you to do online, from making payment to submitting maintenance request. The process is quick and easy. Altos will arrange to have someone come over to take care of the problem with 24-48hrs. I highly recommend Altos Advisors! read more

I rented a Sunnyvale condo with Altos between 10/2018 and 09/2020. My overall experience was horrible. My property manager was Mark Linden They are probably the most unprofessional landlords I've dealt with in my whole life. When they want something, they're always available, but when you need something, it takes several emails and phone calls. Maintenance is never timely, and simple issues drag for days. And when something is not to your liking, they always say "it's not our property it's up to the owner we're just middlemen" but at the same time they don't represent you to the owner like they represent the owner to you. For instance, we spent MONTHS complaining that the washer is literally dancing and making a horrible noise. They kept dragging the issue, and although they saw it in action, they kept saying that the owner doesn't want to replace it because "no previous tenant had a complaint with it". Try explaining "everything has a beginning" to these people and you'll fail. It was literally months of nagging until they replaced it and basically added its price to the next year's lease. Four months before we decided to move out, we saw the wooden floor planks surrounding the bathroom strangely expand, which looked like water damage. We know 100% we didn't wet the floor. The damage spanned parts of the three different rooms surrounding the bathroom, close to the walls, so it is obvious there is some water leakage either under the bathroom floor, or from the wall base above it. They refused to look at it before we move out, and after we moved out, they claimed they looked and found no leakage anywhere. Again, I know 100% we didn't wet it. Long story short, they charged us an arbitrary $2500 out of our deposit for replacing the floors. I seriously considered going to small claims court, but I've already moved to Texas (which they're aware of), and it's not worth my while traveling back. So I settled for this honest detailed review. I hope nobody faces such a horrible experience with them again. read more

We rented a house managed by Altos for a couple of years and had a fantastic experience with them. Our contact person was Justin Accola and he was always very responsive, and always ensured that our problems were sorted out immediately. He went above and beyond to help us in anyway possible even during the pandemic lockdown periods and got us the handyman or service required. After renting in bay area for many years at different places, I have had mostly bad to mediocre experience with the management or while moving out but I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth everything was with Altos and especially Justin. I lived in a Mountain View unit managed by Justin Accola from Altos for almost 8 years and was so sad when it came time to move on. Justin was always extremely responsive (like we're talking responses within half an hour and at max a few hours) and got repairs done ASAP including leaking bathtubs, pilot light heater, dryer issues, etc. He was always communicative with any house changes that needed to be done (replacement of carbon monoxide detectors, balcony renovation, etc). I also super appreciated Justin's help with replacing the light in the stairwell that we couldn't reach because we didn't have a ladder and he sent someone over to help replace the bulb immediately. The owner wanted to charge all these damages that we knew we didn't do. we received a letter of the damages and the amounts he was trying to charge us were just outrageous and didn't add up. Chris was our property manager at a complex near downtown Sunnyvale and he was the absolute best! He was always responsive and took care of anything we needed without hesitation. My husband and I have not always had the best luck dealing with property companies here in the Silicon Valley, but we were both very pleased working with Altos and specifically Chris the 2+ years we lived in our apartment. The ONLY reason we moved was because we needed a bigger space close to my husbands job. If not, we would have definitely stuck around. Was also given the wrong advisor for the property I inquired about. And after 4 days of trying to reach someone when I finally did get the right person, I was told the property was rented three weeks prior even though there were multiple listing still active online. Had very few issues that we couldn't take care of ourselves so we did call for help Chris was on it immediately. They have a great group of contractors on call. The dealing and response were quick, there was no issues whatsoever in finances of the rents and security. We had a couple of minor breakdowns in the house but their maintenance team was quick. I lived in my old apartment that was run by a property manager who managed two complexes, for about four years. After year three, the complex was sold and we now had Altos as our property management. I have to admit, I was really worried. Was this new company going to be attentive to our service requests? I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to see first hand that my doubts as a resident were not needed. Justin always made any service request in my apartment a priority. The fact that I was able to pay my rent online after paying it by check for three years was also a HUGE plus. I used to have to drive to Cupertino and drop it off every. single. month. What a pain!
