I hit this spot up specifically for a Wing Walk. The Smoked Buffalo Wings were a standout. They aren't your average deep fried wing; they have a distinct, deep smoky depth. Even in the middle of a busy event, they stayed impressively crispy. The Asian Sticky Wings were also top tier. They had a thick, glossy glaze that hit the perfect balance of sweet and savory without being overly salty. Both wings were high quality and meaty, which isn't always the case during a crowded food crawl. Stopped by for lunch and realized it's been about a year since we last dined at The Freebird Kitchen and Bar. Glad we came back. We ordered the Louisiana Creole Shrimp and a Shrimp Po-Boy with bacon added. The Creole shrimp was amazing. Perfectly spiced, with a nice kick, and the lemon and special dunking sauce really pulled it together. The fried bread on the side was great for soaking up every bit of sauce. Honestly, it was pretty close to the shrimp I've had in New Orleans. The Shrimp Po-Boy was just as good. Crispy fried shrimp, fresh lettuce and tomato, and a flavorful Cajun remoulade on French bread. Adding bacon was the right move. It gave the sandwich a little extra richness without overpowering the shrimp. Overall, a solid lunch and definitely worth coming back for. We'll be dining here again in the near future. Nice spot in WP. We were looking for a late brunch spot in White Plains and found that freebird was open until late. Good atmosphere with a bar scene and birds above... We were seated in a nice booth and service was good. We had some coffee which was standard fare - basically diner quality but drinkable. Some ice cold water. All good We ordered the eggs Benedict, some pancakes, and the lobster roll. I had the eggs and they were cooked well with a ham and high volume of hollandaise. I usually have the hollandaise on the side, but as a cardinal error, I had forgotten to ask them for that. The sauce was overpowering a little bit too sour for my liking, and as it turns out did not agree with me. Next time I will avoid that. The lobster roll was well received with no mayonnaise, which was great. And the pancakes were also good. read more

Man!!!! This place....is a gem! From the customer service to the ambiance, it is literally an 8.5/10. The food was tasty and servers/bartenders were helpful and kind. I ordered the chicken sandwich and that thang was a thinly sliced grilled chicken breast on a brioche bun with all of the things that make a sandwich memorable. It was fresh, had a sauce, soft bun, and butter lettuce. The fries weren't anything special. I don't like a double crunch sort of cornflake coat of a fry. But I dipped it in ketchup and ate about 20 of them. I ordered a watermelon margarita and it was soooooooo good. It was exactly how I imagined the drink would taste, not super sweet and a fake watermelon flavor. But it was stiff and refreshing! The waiter asked if I wanted to dessert. And guess what?! I tried the chocolate pecan pie. The pie itself was so good and the chocolate added the pizzaz necessary. But the crust wasn't good. I make pecan pies that have buttery crust which wakes the texture flaky and a bit crumbly. This pie had a tart like crust that was soft. Which I didn't enjoy. We stopped by on a weekday afternoon that everyone happened to be off from work/school so it wasn't cray busy. The bartender doubled as server at this time and he was as attentive as he could be. There are busses to bring the dishes, and I appreciate that a manager was on the floor, checking in on tables and helping out where he could. The last and only time I've ever visited this place since it changed from Elements (7 years ago), was not the best experience. A lot of the food was either bland or served cold. I was not happy. Fast-forward to today and I'm very happy with the turnaround. The oysters were flavorful and I see that they decided to put the flavored butter on the oysters instead of serving it on the side - huge improvement. Everyone enjoyed their food as well. All of it was really good and well done. Hubby had their steak sando and it was very flavorful, although difficult to get a bite without dragging more meat than you have mouth, off of the sandwich. My kiddo had the kid's menu cheeseburger, and it's a big portion. I asked for medium and it was done a little over, which I hope is a one-off, because not all kids are given well done burgers. I would never do my daughter dirty like that. Freebird staff, please believe the parents when they ask for medium - that's what their kids actually eat. I had the shrimp po'boy and I was quite happy with the dish. It was very good. I paired mine with a salad but I was intrigued to hear that mashed could have been an option. I tried both their aperol spritz and French Kiss cocktails, and both were nice...weak, but nice. We also shared the double chocolate brownie that was served warm with ice cream. We had to wait some during the meal but not much. We visited during an off-peak time, so it makes sense to gave less staff. We stayed until happy hour started, when additional staff began to arrive. Mostly, I'm happy that the food has improved greatly. If it was just hubby and I, we would have sat at the bar, so that is what I suggest whenever it's off-peak. Last night we ordered both Brussels Sprouts and fried Calamari for apps, black bean burgers, Freebird salads and sticky toffee pudding à la mode...a ton of food (guess we were extra hungry) and everything was just outstanding- as usual. Super cute on the rooftop and I got greeted as soon as I walked in versus not at all which was my biggest complaint on my visit last year. Prices were great and good portions. Super cute spot in downtown White Plains! I celebrated my birthday here with my family (6 adults and 2 kids). The staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive throughout our visit. That said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend bringing very active children, as the rooftop/bar atmosphere is better suited for a more relaxed dining experience. Our reservation was at 3:30 PM on a Saturday, so we ordered from the brunch menu. Had we waited another 30 minutes, we would have been able to order from the dinner menu, but my party wasn't interested in waiting. The food was delicious--especially the buffalo wings! The drinks were strong and well-made. I opted for the bottomless bellinis, and our server made sure my glass was never empty. As a birthday treat, I received a complimentary bread pudding, which was a thoughtful gesture, although it was a bit dry for my taste. This is a heavy appetizer meaning you could get full from this before your entree comes out which was like 10-15mins later. You can share this with 2 ppl the size was big. The passion fruit lemonade was very tart so if that's not your thing I would not recommend the lemonades. The first dish was the brisket 2 fried eggs and grits but I substitute for fries. Brisket was juicy and flavorful. Fries were just regular nothing crazy. The shrimp, sausage and grits were cheesy delicious as you can see the plate was huge had to take it to go. The shrimps were hugeeee and they gave me so many slices of sausage. The service was excellent waiter kept checking on us. I came here for brunch with the husband and the ambiance was very cute. We opted out of the amazing $22 BOTTOMLESS m. However, you can get mimosa, bellini, champagne, house wine, select drafts on a 2 hour time limit with minimum purchase of salad , toast or entree. Instead we went with a cocktail. I tried the smoke on the water and the lavender bees knees both had a lot Of flavors. The smoke on the water keep in mind has peach puree and is going to be on the heavier side. While visiting friends we stopped at Freebird for dinner. I absolutely loved this restaurant from the moment we walked in. It is clean and the staff are beyond welcoming and helpful. We started off with a round of drinks: sangria, winter cosmo, spicy margarita, and the blackberry smash. I was very impressed with the flavor combination of blackberry and bourbon. We ordered the pulled pork fries and croquettes for appetizers. I wasn't that much of a fan of the croquettes but the pulled pork was tender and flavorful. The sweet potato fries were handcut and delicious and the melted cheese on top had a great flavor and consistency. I ordered the big bird chicken sandwich fried and Nashville style it was delicious and a huge portion which I ended bringing most of it home. The chicken was huge, juicy, and tender. It had a great Nashville spice kick to it. The pulled pork sandwich on the pretzel bun was amazing too. Great meat and the pretzel bun was a nice change up. The black bean burger is definitely a healthier option but it did not skimp on flavor or taste. The burger was a huge size and cooked to the perfect medium well. The parking is a bit crazy as it is street parking , the private lot behind the restaurant, or just paying the small amount for the parking garage which personally I found to be the easiest option. read more

I'd like to expand on my earlier review that focused on the staff accommodations for a special setup for mobility access & handicapped issues and this focus here on the staff and food. The food here is incredible. My Mom was a southern girl and she & Grandma used to cook up farm classics. We had everything family style for our event. All items were on the main menu. All sorts of appetizers passed. The fried chicken was amazing, the platters of pork bq sliders, salmon, and sliced steak were all top notch. The accompanying salads:Caesar & Garden were dressed beautifully and tasted terrific. Staff: Love You! We were a BIG party for my son's 30th. The youngers took the top terrace & some of the oldies like me were on main floor. We had staff assigned to us and the Unbelievably attentive Hostess making sure we wanted for nothing while also handling a full house house of diners. Thank You Freebird! I came for a quick dinner on a Sunday. I love the rooftop. It's only on the second floor so not a very high view, but still a treat for White Plains. They serve their drinks in plastic cups which feels quite low budget. The portion sizes are also very small. I had a mojito and it was very tangy and citrusy. To eat, I had the mac and cheese and enjoyed it. It was served in a piping hot skillet. They've improved the recipe so it was creamy, but still could've used sharper cheese.
