Karaoke was in full swing and the hosts are very talented. We made reservations but it was not packed this particular Thursday evening. We started off with some drinks, and their jerk spring rolls and codfish fritters. Everything was really good. Hubby had their lomo saltado. He said it was OK but the rice was dry and it wasn't served as it should be, with the sauté on top of the French fries. I had the ribeye with mac & cheese and cabbage slaw. The steak temp was perfect, as was the mac. The slaw was bland - I wish I ordered a different side. My kiddo had their chicken fingers w/French fries, and liked it. The only reason I would rate it a 3/10 is because the place itself was very nice and had a pleasant atmosphere. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated and then another 40 minutes for our food, only for it to arrive cold. The service was okay, but definitely not enough to make up for the long wait and disappointing food. We also ordered the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls, which the menu stated came with 4 egg rolls. What was actually served were 2 egg rolls cut in half, which technically made 4 pieces but felt misleading. I ordered the Bourbon Chipotle Chicken, but it tasted more like it had been covered in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce than the flavor described on the menu. For the price, I expected much better quality and flavor. The drinks were also disappointing. I ordered a non-alcoholic mango martini, which tasted mostly like lemon juice. I then ordered a hibiscus lemonade and was initially served what tasted like lemon and sugar. After sending it back, I finally received the correct drink--but by then I had to take it to go. For the amount of money spent, the food quality, presentation, and overall experience did not match the expectations set by the menu. The Happy Hour food menu was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. But I will share my absolute favorite was jerk chicken spring rolls and Jalea. If you can't decide try both, and thank me later. The wings were also pretty good but nothing completely out of the ordinary. They are fried and sauced very well. So, I'm still on the path of looking for grilled wings that are seasoned well. The highlight of the experience besides the beautiful decor was the skinny margarita. Because I was initially hesitant to order it. Although, Bethany is cool...I don't like her Skinny Margarita Brand AT ALL. My friend and I decided to check out The Water Grill, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We visited on a Thursday, and they had karaoke night. The DJ kept everyone engaged, playing and singing classic hits that created a fun atmosphere. We started with a few mojitos and appetizers, including the jerk chicken and cod fritters. The appetizers were okay, but the music, drinks, and overall vibe made for a great evening. My friend ordered the steak with asparagus and mac and cheese, which she rated a 3/5. While it wasn't exceptional, she still enjoyed her meal. The service was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The waiter we had was friendly at first but the service got progressively worst because of the amount of traffic so it wasn't really his fault . There were only 3 servers and 2 very large parties .. I got the jerk chicken with Coleslaw , & rice and peas my friend got snapper with asparagus and plantains . We both were very disappointed . The food wasn't the best it came out luke warm and wasn't that tasty . The price point was expensive for what was received , the coleslaw tasted like it was out all day and my friend fish wasn't cooked all the way through .. the tiger shrimp and guac with chips appetizers were good . I also ordered a rum punch and it was ice with a side of mango nectar & a splash of rum lol definitely not worth $20! A busy night is not an excuse for under cooked food . From the initial consultation Natasha was on point, showing me where my event would be if weather permitted. After consultation I received an email with the prix fix info. Booking was EXTREMELY easy and any question I had was answered promptly. My party was for 25 people. I chose 2pm when they opened. As I got there Natasha was very hands on putting the finishing touches on my Tables. Food was served family style, hot and most importantly extremely good. When a restaurant is new I like to go check it out. We ventured to The Water's Grill. The ambiance was really nice, excellent decor. We were greeted by an extremely happy and welcoming staff. We chose to sit outside on the patio. The menu was pretty extensive, a lot of choices. We started with the bourbon chipotle wings and they were delicious, tender and well seasoned. We followed up with the Chaufa Del Mar with shrimp and the Lomo Saltado Filet Frites. Both dishes were plated and prepared very well. Both dishes brought out that authentic Latin flair. We were very pleased with our choices. For our drinks, we started with their rum punch made with my favorite - wray and nephew. The rum punch was really good, not too strong and definitely not too weak. The Water's Grill drink menu was extensive with a lot of choices. This was an excellent choice. This was our first visit to Water's Grill in New Rochelle, and we came for an early family dinner around 5:00 p.m. There were five of us, and although the main dining room was nearly empty, we were asked to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. When we were finally seated, it was in a small area near the kitchen and restrooms. As a guest, that was disappointing, especially when so many beautiful tables in the main dining room overlooking the marina were available. Those tables near the kitchen and restrooms should really be reserved as a last resort, not when the restaurant is largely empty. I spoke with the manager, Ryan, and I want to commend him for how professionally he handled the situation. He immediately put two tables together in the main dining room with a lovely marina view, which completely changed the experience. Thank you, Ryan, for listening and resolving the issue so quickly. The service was a little slow, but everyone was pleasant, and the food was good. Overall, we had an enjoyable evening, and because of Ryan's excellent customer service, we would certainly consider returning. My only suggestion is to be more thoughtful about first impressions. Where you initially seat guests can set the tone for the entire dining experience. When the restaurant is mostly empty, giving guests one of your better tables goes a long way in making them feel welcomed and valued. read more

This is definitely not authentic Jamaican food. The rice and peas were dry and even crunchy on top. To make matters worse, they charge $4 extra for oxtail gravy but still serve cold, dry rice and peas. The worst service experienced. Let's start with waitress who instead of just moving a chair over, decided to have half our family get up and move their own chairs one over. Immediately turned off at the situation but we all decided to not say anything. Came with family and kids. No kids menu were provided, until we asked for it. The service was extremely late. The appetizers were cold by the time they were served! The draft beers on the menu were not available. However, they were still listed on the menu. I ordered a steak medium cooked, I was served a steak that was charred and therefore dry and practically tasteless, other than the smoky taste of the steak that was overcooked. I will not return. The food did not impress us at all. The shrimp, martini, oxtails, coconut rice, coleslaw and jerk chicken were subpar. The shrimp came from restaurant depot and were fried too hard, the coleslaw (possibly on the verge of spoiling), martini, and rice were too sweet. The jerk chicken is far from authentic and the oxtails were undercooked. They were not tender at all. We would not return nor recommend to anyone. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun. This place is on the water so there is a nice view and the decor is fun. The menu is somewhat limited, but what we had was good: the limo soltando was very nice. They did have good Happy Hour specials for food and drink. The service was lacking. We waited 20 minutes to get a drink, and at that point the place was not crowded at all. We sat with dirty dinner plates for 20 minutes or more before they were cleared and asked about dessert. It took so long to get dessert we ended up canceling it and just getting the check. Absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful experience. I made a Thanksgiving reservation online and even called to confirm twice that the restaurant would be open and that my reservation was secured. They confirmed everything. Then, only one day before at 6:00 PM, they called to say they were canceling because they "decided to close." Canceling a confirmed reservation the night before a major holiday is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. It completely ruined our Thanksgiving plans. If the restaurant intended to close, they should have informed us days or weeks in advance--NOT last minute. This shows zero respect for customers, terrible management, and a shocking lack of responsibility. I live in New Rochelle, and I will absolutely tell everyone I know not to trust this place after such shameless treatment. Do not rely on this business. We enjoyed the restaurant! Prior to arrival I was running late and the maitre d called to make sure I was on my way, which I could appreciate. Upon arrival she was able to put the voice to the name and face- and didn't forget. Another plus. We changed to outdoor seating only because the weather was improving. The decor both inside and out was carefully designed. I believe all seating has hooks for the ladies to hang their bags. A plus. It was still early- only about 5:25p and the restaurant was not at 25% capacity, and yet the bar order took quite a bit of time to get out to us- a Moscow Mule and a High Tide. The antipasto, a mixed plate of deep fried calamari, fish, shrimp likewise took quite a bit of time making its way out as well. Both the drinks and the antipasto were excellent. For the main course we had the Tomahawk steak, lobster mac n cheese and broccolini, I believe it was. The steak also came with grilled asparagus. For a Tomahawk steak that claimed to feed two- I thought this one on the small side. Nevertheless it was prepared well, and cooked to my request. This Tomahawk, again could have been handled by one. It was worth the wait. This was the one item ordered that I knew should take some time. We followed up with the lava cake and ice cream for dessert. Excellent pairing. Also, in the right amount. Well done. Criticisms. I'm not a fan of jeans. Makes the environment look too casual. The staff did wear polo shirts- two colors- perhaps having to do with their assignments? Drinks do need to come out quicker- as do the appetizers. Also, why is there not bread and butter, or oil set down immediately upon being seated so that we have something to tie us over during the wait?? I wouldn't have noticed had I had something to chew on. Afterthought. I have permit parking, and was relieved to see that staff was out in the parking lot all along Hudson Park to guide restaurant goers on where they should park to avoid issues with the marina- until at least people figure out the system. The couple next to us received late and cold food, and the group across from us experienced identical delays.
