This was the first time I had been here for breakfast and it did not disappoint. I've driven by this place a million times over the years and I didn't even realize it was in this shopping center. My omelette was so good!!! The pieces of bacon were cut thick and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. I never knew this was such a nice restaurant seeing the entrance from the parking lot! The wait staff was attentive and kind, among the best I have had in Southern California. I visited The AM Cafe for the first time. I was visiting Lancaster and was looking for a good corned beef hashbrowns breakfast and chocolate pancakes. I loved my breakfast and will be definitely be returning when I am in the Lancaster area. I ordered the 3 eggs and corned beef hashbrowns breakfast. I requested tomatoes as a side. I ordered my eggs over easy. As my side ,I selected the biscuits and gravy on the side. Everything was delicious! Now the pancakes... OMG the chocolate chip pancakes were delicious! I loved them. They were sweet and chocolatey. For my beverage , I ordered orange juice ( not freshly squeezed) and a decaf coffee. The decaf coffee was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. Make sure you hit the ATM before coming here. I tried to order a hamburger patty and one egg with a side of lettuce and ranch dressing à la cart, and the server created her own version of my order with 3 eggs, two sides and charged me an arm and a leg. I came here this past Saturday and it was truly a gem of a place ! The food was amazing as well as the service. The inside of the restaurant was very cute and they had rooster decorations everywhere which I thought was amazing. I definitely need to bring my mom here she loves them. This was my first time to AM Cafe. I have no idea why. Because...dang. The cafe is cute and quaint, but large. When i walked in i was greeted by multiple people. My server was Shelly. She was so friendly and just made me feel at home. Everything is very clean and the decor is farmhouse/country. The walls are a warm rust and yellow. Very inviting and cozy. I was brought my iced tea. For me, the iced tea can make or break a place. Sometimes they use the coffee maker to also brew tea and it tastes terrible. Not here. My tea was expertly brewed and fresh. It had lemon wedges and the perfect amount of ice. My refill was also brought in a timely manner. Now to the important part. The food. The dutch-apple french toast is hard to put into mere words. It can only be described through the accidentally emitted moans of satisfaction you will surely slip out. Maybe an mmmm or ahhh or oh my god. It was perfectly cooked french toast with these delicious little sweet crunchy toppings. Cream cheese apple something drizzled. I think maybe cinnamon and sugar. Maybe I'm wrong here but the whipped topping tasted freshly made. It was divine! The eggs were fluffy. I am sadly used to scrambled eggs being overcooked. These were not. They were absolutely perfect. The sausage was savory and juicy. Yeah, juicy. Not dry. The hash browns were extra crispy without being burnt.. just the way i like. The gravy deserves its own spot in this review. It was so good. Im speechless...almost. The gravy is made with both sausage and bacon. It is a flavor smorgasboard. I love ordering their farmhand favorite, I love their selection of speciality French toast/pancakes. It's like no other diner out here. The pricing is also reasonable! I frequent visiting on of my bestfriends in lancaster and for breakfast we usually get AM Cafe. Having been a couple of times here I can say that this place is a nice restaurant to catch a breakfast. Very homestyle themed with rooster decor. Service is warm and welcoming. They have a pretty large menu spanning from your basic breakfast combos, to burritos, and to breakfast plates such as huevos rancheros. I usually get the 3 eggs combo with toast and hashbrowns for around $9. This cafe is reasonably priced and always nice spot for a casual breakfast. Ordered the Farm Hand Special, speciality pancakes ordered were the Strawberry, Banana pancakes. Rest of order came and waitress said she would be right back with the French Toast and Strawberry Banana pancakes. We wait. And we Wait. AND WE WAIT!! Finally got someone's attention and asked when rest of meal was coming? Was told, 'we are out of bananas, so we sent someone to buy bananas!' WHAT? Instead of letting us know 'No bananas' could we change our order, or would you rather sit for 35 minutes or more, while we go grocery shopping AND the rest of your meal solidifies in grease? This was a HUGE surprise!! This is a family owned cafe, my mom and I went on our once in a while Monday breakfast date and the food and service was AMAZING! I had the chicken and waffles and you can see the tenders were fresh land tasty. My mom had a traditional breakfast and we took breakfast burrito for my brother. Overall a great experience and the warm welcoming by the owners daughter is a plus. She was vey kind to my mom and even spoke some Spanish to her. Thank you! This place was recommended by a friend of mine. She said they had good breakfast..... after my own experience I found out ......lunch.... is not good. My sister ordered breakfast and it looked delicious and she said that it was. However I was in the mood for lunch and ordered a ABC burger. First impression was the burger looked off.... it reminded me of a school lunch burger. Well I was starving so I give it a bite.... my first thoughts were confirmed.
