The gentleman that owns the place is just the absolute amazing person. He's so honest, you can tell he's a hard-working, old-school guy born and raised in Philly. Just absolute pleasure the family works there. Steve is also really great, he's always very upfront, honest and reliable and I appreciate how great these people are at what they do. Great price, I approved it no problem. Brought my car in today and when it was done, I was notified that the total was $415. I called to ask why the difference between the estimate and the total and was told that the estimate was for one tire. I asked why they would send an estimate that isn't for the entire job and the owner basically started to yell at me over the phone saying the car needed two tires and would I like him to put one of the old ones back on, otherwise basically to go F myself. All I wanted was for him to say "sorry for the miscommunication on the estimate" and we'd be good. But I couldn't even get a word in as he's talking about "this is how I've done this for 40 years" and other boomer nonsense. To send an estimate that doesn't have the total for a job is so completely outrageous and deceptive that I will never be going to this place again. Congrats to them on getting the extra $230 and losing a lifetime, previously loyal customer. Edit to respond to owner: Happy to explain in a little simpler terms since you don't seem to get this. I came and was told I needed to replace two tires. I said ok, please send me an estimate for replacing the two tires. You send me an estimate. When I see that estimate, I expect the line marked "Total" to be the actual total that I am going to pay. Quite frankly I don't care about the itemization above it, all I care about is the total. I'm quite certain the tool you use to send invoices has the capability of changing the quantity from "1" to "2" so that the total shown is accurate for the work that will actually be done. That is the deceptive practice that I am commenting on. Your total was not the total. it was less than half the total. Additionally, since you seem inclined to insult my intelligence (I work in finance by the way and basically do math for a living)...$185x2 = $370. Your total was significantly above that. Happy to take the $45 refund whenever you're ready. Congrats on doubling down here for all to see the stubbornness they'll face when paying your business a visit.

We called on a Thursday afternoon and were given a Monday morning appointment. A short time after dropping the car off, Joe called us and explained exactly what was needed and why. During the same phone call he gave us a cost breakdown for materials and labor and disclosed what the total amount would be. Once we gave the go ahead to do the job we received a phone call back within a few hours advising that the work was completed. The cherry on top was that the total price came in under the price quoted. And, the BEST part is that the air conditioner now works like new. I took my car again, & when I picked it up, they simply had spray painted the junkyard mirror and put it back on. it's not even the correct size--the enclosure doesn't even snap closed. I didn't get notified of the diagnosis until 4pm and couldn't get my car back until the next day. The humming noise could not be identified and suggested I change a tie rod. I thought this was the issue. I called on Tuesday morning to get an estimated time to pick up my car I was told 3pm. I arrived on time at 3pm since I had to get to work that evening, I was charged for the tie rod and sent on my way. Driving back home, I noticed the humming sound was still there and even louder. I looked at the repair bill and it stayed that the humming sound was possibly from the rear differential and could cost upwards of 2k dollars, I was shocked they didn't tell me this in person when I picked up the car. I called to get more information on this and they told me they could not exactly point out the source of the humming sound and that they were only 70% sure it was the rear differential. For 2k I wasn't sure if I could trust them to do the repairs given my experience so far. I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication and lack of solution finding to the problem I walked in with. About an hour later, I didn't feel safe with the car driving as is and called back asking to go ahead with the rear differential repair. They told me that they will shop around for parts and give me a call back. It is now Thursday and have not heard back from the shop. Terrible service. Go somewhere else
