I was in and out of there in 15 minutes. They patched my run flat tire instead of plug it in which what I want it. Definitely recommend this place. With a 2 & 1/2 hour drive ahead of me, I needed new front tires, stat. My first instinct was Costco, so I googled it. I was put off by the negative reviews on the consumer report, so I kept looking. My sister got a set of low profile wheels for a decent price at AMA Tires, so I decided to check em out. Driving down E. 14th to get here, you kinda feel like locking your doors. It's not a pleasant looking area, but don't let that scare you. I pulled in to the parking lot and was greeted by a man in a jumpsuit and beanie (don't let that scare you either). I informed him of my need for new front tires, and my price range. Apparently, you can purchase used tires here! He brought out a pair of practically new rain tread tires for me to inspect. Looks good to me! About 20 minutes and $84.00 later I'm on my way. It was great to look at the reciept and not see a bunch of fees and surcharges like other places. I'm rating purely on service and pricing and helpfulness. As far as aesthetics, it's a garage so the waiting area isn't very nice, so bring your rose colored glasses. read more

I have gotten many a used tire here....the wait time is fantastic; usually 20 minutes from the time you pull in till the time you are on your way... But..... I had bought two front tires on my Daughters car only to come out and find one flat the next day!!! No problem...I really didn't want to drive 45 minutes back to AMA so I figured I'd just get it fixed at the Les Schwab by my house.....of course they go and tell me the damage is in the sidewall and can't be fixed.... Went back to AMA......15 minutes later I am driving away with a different tire free of charge.... Can't say enough good things about this place! read more

I really can't say enough about how awesome these guys are. Time and time again they prove to be the best. Prices are always great wether you are looking for new or used tires. The quality of the used tires are equally as great as new tires. I have never felt ripped off here even when there has been opportunity for them to "take advantage" or "up sell". A few years back I moved out from San Leandro to Livermore and still keep coming back. To be honest I think I would drive across the state if I needed any tire work done on any of my vehicles. Well, I never leave these reviews but after reading the previuos post, thought I'd give my $.02. First, service is fast, I mean, in and out in 20 minutes to have a pair of tires swapped. That is fast! Not much for words and didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling but I'm here for service and tires, so, I was very happy to get a pair of what they said were used but they look brand new tires. Pricing was excellent, been shopping around for new tires, cheapest no name tires I could find and installed was around $360, ouch...Here at AMA, $180! I was sold right there. Also, they slapped on a pair of Kumo Solus kr21...these are excellent tires. There would have been 5 stars but my only grip was when I got home and took a closer look, there was new scratch on one of my rims. There was a slight scuff already on the other side but now I have a rather long scratch around the outer edge of the rim. I'm not picky about it but I know for others, this wouldn't be cool. Overall, I am very happy and recommend! read more

This place sells used tires and sells them cheaper than anyone else I've encountered. They're also pretty fast. Those are really the only pros here but they're significant ones. It's not a pretty place, the workers are not particularly helpful (when I asked them for the difference between two potential tires they said, "there is no difference" without even looking at the tires), and in fact the workers seemed a bit annoyed that I was even there. The location is also pretty sketchy. That said the price was right and I haven't had any problems with the tires I got there. read more

Two of my girlfriends tires kept going flat, so AMA recommended to put 4 new tires on the 18'' lexus wheels. So we bought 4 new tires from them for 5 hundred and change plus install. Weeks later and the same two tires are going flat, turn out the rims were cracked, a guy at Americas Tire Co. took off the new tire and showed us incredibly visible cracks in the rim plus the rims were bent so they would not balance correctly. The guys at AMA knew the rims were bent/cracked but decided not to tell us because it would jeopardize the sale of the tires they were about to unload on me. Weeks later I ended up getting a deal on four 17'' rims and tires elsewhere, and have put the 4 new 18'' tires AMA sold me for $550 on craigslist for $150, and they have yet to sell. Turns out they are made in china, next to worthless tires. I will not be going back. read more

I have mixed feeling about this place. I called around to see who can fix a flat ASAP and they said bring it in and they'll have me out in 15 minutes and the price to fix the flat would be $15. Sounded fair enough so I drove out there. When I got there told them what tire it was on and he asked if I wanted to do the plug for $15 or do I want to do the patch for $25 and it'll take an extra 10 minutes since they have to take the tire off the car. I do have to say it was my fault for not asking if they do a patch, plug or use a patch and plug to fix the tire. For people that dont know Patch and Plug combo is the best option, patch second and the plug is more of a temporary solution but can be last forever. I opted for the patch since it was the best they offer and I was in a time crunch. They told me to drive it up the lift so they can start the work, not feeling 100% comfortable with it i just pulled it up to the lift and told them to do it since they do it all the time. Here is more of the dislike about the place....Right when he walked up to my car the first thing he said was that I need new front tries....well I know for a fact my tires were on the newer side with at least 50% tread life remaining and thats when I told him I'm good I got plenty of thread life lift and he just kinda laughed. I guarantee if I did say go ahead they would have put tires with similar threads on it and just resold mine to someone else. Quick service, but question what they pitch! read more
