I stopped by to get x-rays and have my teeth exam and I was getting ready to hear a lot of bad news. Knowing that I had not visited the dentist in about 8 to 10 years I knew that there would be work that would be needed to be completed.. The dentist was very helpful with letting me know the severity of it, but at the same time showed optimism and made me feel comfortable. Not only are we looking into the repairment of my tooth but also he explained to me the things that would be needed to be done in order to restore my teeth. I had plaque built up and my gums were very swollen with numbers high as fives and six which is not great and he explained to me that it would take a few appointments of deep cleaning and laser treatment in order to restore them. The appointments that I've had with them have been painless, and they have always made me feel comfortable while visiting them. This really helped me overcome my fear of visiting in the dentist and I actually do look forward to seeing them for my next appointment. Thank you Downey family dental, Dr. Nguy and the rest of the team for not only making it a seamless and positive experience, but truly helping me get my teeth restored!

The front office staff were incredibly professional and helpful . they took the time to clearly explain our dental benefits and made the entire process stress-free. The dental assistants were so kind and caring while taking our X-rays. They were gentle, friendly, and made us feel completely comfortable. Both of The Doctors ( Dr.Nguy & Dr.No) were absolutely wonderful! not only knowledgeable and professional, but also hilarious! There was a fun little rivalry between one being a proud alum of UCLA and the other from USC which made the visit even more enjoyable and hilarious . You can tell they genuinely care about their patients and about the work they do. Overall, such a positive experience. I hadn't been to the dentist office in a while due to a bad experience so a chipped tooth brought me here! The staff is so friendly and explained everything in detail! They saw how anxious I was but worked with me through the process, made me feel like they were one of my friends! Dr.Farag was wonderful and I almost fell asleep when he was working on my tooth! The visit did last a couple hours so one of the staff members got me a smoothie and I'm insanely grateful for that! Today was my 2nd visit for a root canal and wow Dr.Okefe the dentist & Dr.Raouf the endodontist were both great. Made me feel at ease and answered any questions I had. As someone who's never had a root canal done before, I felt uneasy going into it but I did not feel any pain throughout. I just wanted to share my wonderful experience at Zak Dental here in Downey. After searching high…read moreand low for a dental practice that accepts my mom's insurance, we found the perfect place. My mom had been suffering from intense pain that affected her ears and all the way up to her brain. She needed to see a specialist, and her regular dentist referred us to one nearby in Lakewood. Unfortunately, they didn't accept her insurance, so we had to look elsewhere. She had to undergo three root canals and get three crowns repaired, and although we paid out of pocket, it was such a relief to see her pain finally easing. (Insurance also covered high amount) My mom truly loved her endodontist, Dr. Toosi. He did an incredible job and was very gentle and caring with her. His assistant, Kim, was also incredibly sweet, showing lots of grace, patience, and care. Isabel was also very helpful and welcoming, making us feel genuinely cared for. I really appreciate the whole staff for their kindness. I'm giving this place four stars because, after my mom's treatment, we were told by the front desk that she still needed to see Dr. Toosi next month for one more tooth. We also scheduled another appt for her cavity repairs in a couple of days. However, when we returned for the crown repair, we found out it was already done by Dr. Toosi. I wish they had let us know beforehand so we wouldn't have made an unnecessary trip. (My fault as well, I should have spoken to Dr. Toosi after we left) Overall 5/5 at the excellent work. 4/5 for the inconvenience.
