Drs Medina likely saved our boy's life! We took our 14 yr old Lab in for a spa day (aka anal gland expression) and while he was there, Dr Medina noticed his belly was a bit round. They ran bloodwork and a urinalysis and all came back clear. They thought some imaging would help us sort out why his belly was big so we approved that. It ends up that he had a grapefruit sized mass on his spleen! This would have never been found that without their keen eyes noticing his waistline. He had recently been to another vet for Librela injections and lumps n' bumps check and they did not notice his condition. Drs Medina referred us to a specialist and he had a splenectomy two days later. I have been taking all of my cats here for years. Unfortunately one of our cats developed urinary issues so we had to be on the Hill's prescription diet for life. He's been on it for years. Just going to update my review since its been a few years since that last time. The clinic has changed a lot over the years, especially during covid and after. The clinic lobby was open the last time i went there. One of our cats, BooBoo, had been seeing Dr Medina for a long time (maybe 8 years) when she was diagnosed with renal disease. He took very good care of her, always suggesting the best for her. Took my two huskies here in 2021 and got my little girl spayed with them. after the procedure, she was not active and feeling good for a week. they assured me that she will return to normal soon. but i had doubts and also noticed her belly was enlarging even though she hadnt been eating or drinking water. they again, insisted she was fine. but I INSISTED to do an ultrasound. after the ultrasound, they found lots of liquid in her belly and told us they couldnt do anything and we'd need to go to a specialist. at the specialist, she was diagnosed with septic peritonitis. the specialists suspect that her small intestines were nicked during the spaying procedure. its been such a long time since then, but whenever i see this vet hospital, i urge everyone i know to think twice. they may have cheap prices, but surely thats for a reason. i would give this place 0 stars if it were an option. read more

One of the biggest problems with this veterinary is that they are a first come first serve facility and the only time they make appointments is when your pets see them first. If I could leave 10 stars I would. I have to thank Dr. Johnny Nguyen and Dr. Luisito Gallardo for the compassion and excellent care they provided to my glam baby Mozart. Our little Mozart decided to rub his head and face all in a bouquet of Lily's not knowing they are extremely toxic to little kitty's like him. My daughter rushed him to the nearest vet which happened to be this one here, and boy was she a wreck, Mozart is her whole life. They treated Mozart, he stayed overnight and his mama was worried sick. Our family and friends were terrified by what we have read about Lily's and the mortality rate etc. And this little fur brat Mozart is her whole entire world. He is a handful and only likes his mama. There was no other option than for him to be ok. Luckily she had him at the office within a few hours of his little adventure in the Lily bouquet. Even all the people that had been waiting over an hour for their visit allowed my daughter and Mozart to skip the line because she was so distraught. All of those kind people I want to thank as well. Mozart came home today with mama. Happy and healthy and still of course ornery as ever. Jocelyn who I believe is an assistant to the doctors there is an absolute doll and provide the most excellent customer service care and compassion to Mozart and mama. Everyone here went above and beyond what they had to. I would 100% recommend bringing your fur babies here after the service and care our little Mozart received. I'm glad I found this vet. I've been to a few other ones but all they wanted was just money. My neighbor had suggested this place so I thought I'd give it a try. My puppy had coughing so I took her here on a Saturday to see Dr. Medina. He was very knowledgeable and provided suggestions and wrote a prescription that would help with the coughing. One other place I had been to told me to take blood tests that would cost $200-$400 before the vet can do anything. Another place I have been to, the vet knew my puppy had been coughing but didn't even care to discuss it or provide suggestions, so I'm definitely never going back to those again. Amar Glen's prices are also reasonable compared to others. If you have a follow up, they don't charge you the full price of a regular visit $40 which is awesome. But the only downside is that it's only first come first serve so you would need to come early. Weekends are definitely packed, but not sure about the weekdays though. Last time I was there I was told they provide grooming services as well. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to the next time my puppy needs grooming. read more

Was there for a rabies shot which they also gave almost 3 years ago. Now they need to examine the dog before administering the shot, up sold me to an exam where the dog tested very minutely (Very low number) slight infection. Sold me some meds. Total bill with Rabies - $181. I gave the medication only for 2 days. Dog was fine. I believe this clinic is now under new vets and management. Then I went to Humane Society for a pet license only to find out that a Rabies shot costs $20 which was what I only needed. read more

Please do not take your pets to this clinic. They are so Cold Hearted, unprofessional, rude, and not kind. I've been going to their clinic for 20 years now, even when their clinic was across the street. I've had many pets which I love so much, and care for them well. My German Shepherd of 13 years, has been going to this clinic from day 1- until now. That's 13 years with the same physicians, he was never seen by any other doctors or clinics. My German Shepherd, stopped walking one year ago due to his back legs. Although I took such good care of him all his life, giving him vitamins, glucosamine, medication, CBD, light therapy for his arthritis all at Amar Glen. After he stopped walking, it was very difficult for us to keep taking him every month to their clinic for his monthly shots to help with his arthritis. We wouldn't even take him out of our car, since he weighs 95 lbs. So the staff use to walk to my car to give him his injection. Myself and the physicians decided, that Chief would not have to be seen in the clinic no longer, since we knew he is living his last year. They stated they would continue to refill his medications, that he's been on for more than a year. Pain medication, antibacterial ointment, powder to prevent yeast infections. They have been refilling them at the pharmacy, and on Chewy. Chewy called me to tell me that Amar Glen declined his medication refill, and the pharmacy also called me that they declined refilling also. They both told me that, Amar Glen needed to see chief first before approving it. So I called their office, because I thought they had made a mistake in denying all his refills. When I called they said yes you have to bring him in to be seen first. And I said why we had already came to an agreement, that they were going to continue filling his medication until he passed. They said no you have to bring him in. I asked could I please make an appointment for him, since it is so very difficult to get him in the car, then wait like 4 hours in the car. They said no you can't make an appointment. I said could I please talk to the doctor when he is available, he will call you back they said. I waited a couple of hours, then I got the call from the front office. They said the doctor is too busy, and he said no to making an appointment. I then said again I would like to speak to the doctor, I need to clarify, and ask questions. They said ok, we will let them know to call you back. And no one ever called me back, I even texted them twice, since they also receive text messages, no one ever replied to both texts, and never called me back. Now my German Shepherd of 13 years, will not be receiving his pain medication, arthritis medication, and ointments. When he is at his end of life. He is not suffering at all, with the medication and my care. I want him to be comfortable and not in any pain without his medication. Amar Glen is being negligent to my German, by not approving any of his medication, which he's been taking for more than a year. They know my dog so well 13 years, they know that we both had already agreed to keep him comfortable. No more visits, no more lab work. I don't understand how they could be so cruel towards my dog that they have taken care of all his life. How could they do that so heartless, not carrying about my situation at all. Also, you mentioned the walk in visit, like it's a perk! During the awful heat wave my elderly parents waited outside with my dog because they were concerned for her health and both fell extremely ill. Dr. Medina from Amar Glen Veterinary Hospital KILLED MY CAT Anita and took more than $2000 from me for their unskilled, incompetent services. On July 18 I took Anita to a 24 hour Emergency hospital because she was not eating or drinking water. There they made all the tests there are and was diagnosed with a mass on her bladder and other complication that resulted from that mass, that was causing a blockage and for sure had it ever since the first time I took her to Amar Glen in 2022. Anita was in critical condition, and we had to put her to sleep. I took Anita to Amar Glen Veterinary hospital 6 times Since October 31, 2022, until June 29, 2023. They diagnosed her with early stage of kidney disease and UTI. But had recurring UTIs so every time they would make bloodwork and a urinalysis but never did an ultrasound or x-ray. I always made sure to tell them her symptoms including constipation, they never did an ultrasound or x-ray so the mass in her bladder that was causing all the problems could be treated properly. I still can't believe the lack of interest, unprofessionalism and incompetence of Dr Medina. Anita was a senior cat, sure but that doesn't mean that she didn't deserve a high quality of life. She wasn't supposed to suffer the way she did. I was blindsided and confused by this clinic because they seemed to care and treat my Anita with affection when I was present but that was all a lie. I'm extremely disappointed and heartbroken. People do yourself a favor if you're taking your pets to this clinic specifically with Dr Medina, don't trust them 100% because you will be disappointed. I honestly don't care about the money, I just wished Dr. Medina would've done his job correctly and my cat would've not suffered the way she did. If you're pet continues to have health problems always make sure to look for a second opinion it doesn't matter where or what Doctor is attending the pet, it can save lives. Ask for the tests available, and if needed or any doubts ask for an ultrasound/ x-ray to see if any masses are present. read more

This vet reminds me of a government run facility like a DMV. At least at a DMV you can make an appointment. They do not answer the phone when you call, you get a machine. If you would like to get answers to your questions you have to travel there. You have to arrive at least 1 hour before they open to get a winning chance at seeing a vet. You will get turned away if the vet puts a limit. One time I went they were only taking 9 patients and everyone else got denied. Then you have to come back the next day. You get there an hour early to get in line. You and everyone who is waiting have to keep track of the order you came in. There is no sign in sheet or place numbers outside. It's inconvenient because you are waiting an hour outside in the heat. They have shade but not everyone gets there early enough to get the shaded areas. Both animals and humans suffer. If you are "lucky" enough to get in you end up waiting another hour to get called. Then you wait in the waiting room for about 30 minutes before someone sees you. I found it odd that the vet tech had me weigh my aunts dog on their scale. She came in and said ok weigh your dog and she left and came back like 10 minutes later. Then they had me operate the scale (it goes up and down) and bring it back down. We got there at 1pm and left at 6pm when they closed. This place really takes up your time. It really is not all that cheaper than other places so I don't find it worth it. I would not recommend this place. It just is not run smoothly. Go somewhere where they have appointments. read more
