A 3-course lunch special? Say less! You really can't go wrong with that. I went with the crispy fried chicken and braised beef fried rice, plus dessert--sticky rice with mango. And let me just say... the dessert was SO good! Definitely one of my favorite parts, along with my Thai iced tea. The fried chicken was crispy, flaky, and coated in a mild sweet sauce that I absolutely loved. The braised beef fried rice, however, was just okay for me. I felt like it could've used more meat and flavor, and it was a little dry. Overall, I'd definitely come back! My husband found this place on social media and we decided to try it out for dinner last week. We got to the restaurant at around 830pm on a Thursday, just in time for Happy Hour! The restaurant is super cute, a little on the smaller side. The decor is nice, and I noticed it was really clean. We were sat right away and ordered the sangria on Happy Hour, the Pla Goong, salt & pepper crispy pork, and pad see eww beef. The Pla Goong was incredible! The sauce it comes with is addicting. The pork was great too - it is under the "mains" on the menu, but it definitely seems like more of an appetizer to share with the table. I don't think I would want to eat all of that as my main dish. The pad see eww had great flavor, but I got a few chewy pieces of beef. I wasn't a huge fan of the sangria - it's definitely a little on the sweeter side. The service was good, no complaints there. Great business lunch menu for $19. it's designed for a 45 to 60 minute lunch, for the workers in that area. I saw a video on social media so decided to try this lunch special with my friend. The decor is clean and pleasant. And the food was brought out rather quickly! Good thing we're fast eaters because we had all of our food to the table within 30 minutes. I have to say the dessert was horrible and slimy, the sesame balls swimming in the ginger tea was really an awful ending to a meal that was "just all right". I was with a friend who I hadn't seen for a while and we wanted to catch up and do some talking. This is definitely not the restaurant to spend time in. They wanted to rush us out the door. Hate to leave a review based off one dish but they did so much wrong with what should be a staple that I'm not inclined to come back to try anything else. Drunken noodles were completely drunk in sauce, oil, and the the herbal and spiced flavor of green peppercorns. I've never seen so many peppercorns in one dish in my life, and combined with the dangerously unhealthy amount of sodium and oil, there were no other discernible flavors to this dish. I had been seeing Amata all over social media and finally decided to try it for myself. I've been to a handful of Thai restaurants in Las Vegas, and this is one I can confidently recommend. One of the first things I noticed was how generous the portions are. Every dish was beautifully plated and perfect for sharing. My favorites were the Garlic Short Ribs and the Chilean Sea Bass. The sea bass was incredibly buttery, tender, and packed with flavor. They also offer a $19 lunch special that includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, which I thought was an excellent value for the quality and amount of food you receive. There are several options to choose from, making it a great introduction to the restaurant. Beyond the lunch menu, Amata offers many Thai staples and signature dishes that are worth exploring. I genuinely enjoyed almost everything I tried. The salad was probably my least favorite, but that came down more to my personal taste preferences than the quality of the dish. I haven't ventured to eat a Thai place in Vegas before, but AMATA has changed my mind! Their amazing lunch special of $19.99 is worth every penny! They did get a bit busy and seem short staffed, but they handled the groups really well. If you were super hangry coming here, I'm not sure if it would change the experience but give it a shot! It's a well air-conditioned spot - so perfect for the Vegas heat! From their lunch 3 course menu, I tried the crispy salad, drunken noodles and the sesame balls w/ ginger dessert. The crispy salad was refreshing with each bite and the dressing brought all the textures and flavors together. The drunken noodles (I got level 3 spice!) and it was kicking up some heat but loved it! The sesame dessert was a great refreshing taste to end. We were so happy we made it here on a weekday lunch to try their specials. Their lunch menu is $19 that includes starter, entree, and a black sesame dumpling as dessert. Everything was delicious and came out hot too. We only waited about 10 for our food to come out. We ordered the basil stir fry and the pad Thai as our entrees. The food is authentic Thai cuisine, with slight variations and twists to keep it original. As for the portion sizes, the food can be shared family-style, or if you're indulgent, you can eat the entire dish. The restaurant can get moderately noisy, but in good spirits. Went there for a dinner and it was my first time. This is a new restaurant and I'm glad to find this place near our house. It's a little pricey though compared to other Thai restaurants. The pepper tenderloin was very delicious and it tasted really good, balance of flavors was good and they cooked the beef well , though the portion looked small. The shrimp pad Thai was good as well, not too sweet, but again the portion was small. The service was great, very attentive staff. The ambiance looks and feels romantic with ambient lighting. Amata Modern Thai is located on Rainbow and Russell near Dewey. You'll find them at Delek Plaza near Good Morning Kitchen & Cocktail Bar, next to Durango Taco Shop. There's good parking available. Inside is clean, modern, and spacious with plenty of seating for a table and at the bar, and great music playing. Menu offers a nice selection of appetizers, soup, Chef's Experience entrees, wok, comfort classics, and vegan. For drinks, they have signature sangria, mimosas, sparkling, whites, reds, beers, and non alcoholics. I ordered Gai Pad Med Mamoung ($17), which is Chicken Cashew Nut, and opted for no spice. The portion is good for one, has tender chicken breast sauteed in garlic and Thai chili jam, with onions, red and green bell pepper, cashew nuts, and comes with steamed rice. The sauce is creamy and good, and the meal itself is light, satisfying, and tasty! For dessert they have Mango Sticky Rice ($12), I would've order this but I don't want to carry leftovers. Maybe on next visit, I'll try on its own. After the meal, a warm hand towel is provided, it's a refreshing way to sanitize the hands which is nice! One of the best new Thai restaurant awards goes to Amata. I had this place bookmarked for a few months and finally got to try it this weekend. It is known that the restaurant is led by executive chef Pinyo Saewu from Hakkasan, and you can clearly see his modern and fusion influence in the cooking. Ambiance: 4/5 The space has a nice casual design with pops of color from the velvet chairs. I like how bright and lively it feels before dark, then it transitions into a more elevated and intimate vibe in the evening. Service: 5/5 Our server was courteous, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. Food: 4/5 We started with the tom yum soup and bone marrow with roti, both were outstanding. The flavors were bold, rich, and well executed. Next, we had the soft shell crab curry, which was excellent, and the pad kee mao with tofu, which unfortunately fell short. The dish had too few noodles and was overly salty, with a noticeably too much dark soy sauce. We asked to add extra noodles after, which they accommodated, but there was an additional charge. It still didn't taste right after. Overall, most of the dishes were delicious and flavorful. The main reason I could not give a full 5 stars is that the food seemed heavy on MSG. Everyone at the table felt unusually thirsty afterward, even into the next day, and one of my friends even experienced a headache, likely from MSG dehydration or sensitivity. They paired it with chili sauce which made it even more bomb!! Drunken noodle with beef (10/5): this was my favorite! It had aromatics and seasonings that just blended so well and was so so good! I went with my family to try out this newer Thai place. The vibes were rly nice, clean and somewhat classy. Service was quick, our water got refilled frequently. However the food was okay to me. I felt like I expected a bit more given the nice decor and interior design. Parking was easy when I went. Pad Thai 6/10: this pad Thai was a bit too much on the sour side to me. It think I could've improved if there was a bit more sweetness to it. The noodles were good and chewy but flavor was lacking a bit for me. Drunken noodles 6.5/10: also nothing too special. The beef was soft tho at least. Not sure why the flavor profile still felt lacking to me. Truffle fried rice 9/10: this was probably my favorite dish. Despite its simplicity the aroma that came from the rice was so nice. The rice that was use was almost like sticky rice which made the texture a bit chewy. It was unique and I enjoyed it. Cripsy prawns 7/10: I felt like the shrimp was fresh but the sauce it came with was not that flavorful. It just tasted sour to me without much savoriness. The cripsy remnants were the most flavorful part to me and I enjoyed the crunch. Crispy rice salad 6/10: this one also wasn't that much of a stand out to me. Again same thing, I felt like it was lacking the umami I was expecting. Basil Eggplant tofu: 6/10: I felt like the tofu did not have the chance to soak up the flavor. This review specifically is for a pickup order. I have yet to dine in yet! When I called to place an order via phone, the lady I spoke to was friendly and got my order in quickly. I ordered the chicken pad Thai, and there were two basic options for it--mild spice (which is the default) and no spice. She took the time to explain how spicy the "mild spice" was which was helpful. However, in reality, the spice ended up being more intense than described. I'd say on a range from 1-5 in spice level (5 being spiciest), the default "mild" is around 3 (vs. 1 or 2, which is what I was expecting). The order was ready promptly, exactly within the time frame promised. As far as the actual flavor of the pad thai, it was okay--not great, not bad. There was plenty of chicken and eggs, and the noodles were cooked fine. However; I find the pad thai in Vegas is generally not as good as it is in other places I've had it, like Portland. I'd say this place is on par with the Vegas average though; I've only managed to find one place here that I actually would want to go back to. The pad thai flavors in Vegas tend to be very basic and seem to be lacking a depth in pad thai dishes you'd find elsewhere. But in any case, it wasn't bad at Amata, especially compared to comparable places in the area. I do want to mention though that the serving size is really generous. I was able to get three meals out of this single order (the second meal was really tiny, so maybe two full meals really). One thing I really loved about their take-out order was that it was served in an aluminum tray vs those plastic-lined paper dishes or styrofoam. It's a nice tray that can actually be put in the oven for reheating and even reused! As mentioned before, this review is only for a pick-up order, so I don't have any notes to add about the ambiance. But I will say that if the dine-in service and ambiance are really nice, it's possible this place could be a restaurant I'd rate 5 stars. But based on pick-up alone, it's a solid 4. read more

Amata Thai Kitchen is a fantastic addition to the area. From the moment we walked in, the space felt upscale and well designed without feeling stuffy. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it never felt cramped, even on a busy Saturday evening. We came to celebrate my sister's birthday with a party of seven and I was a little worried when we first arrived since there was a constant stream of people coming in and we didn't have a reservation. Luckily they were able to seat us with no problem, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, welcoming. As for the food, we probably ordered around ten dishes and there was not a single miss. Everything that came out was packed with great flavor. The standouts of the evening were the panang curry, the eggplant dish, and the Amata noodles. Each one had bold, elevated flavors that felt both authentic and refined. It's clear this place is already drawing a crowd, and after our meal it's easy to see why. Amata Modern Thai is a unique sort of upscale menu with reasonable priced plates and fancier plates that cost a little more. They have things on the menu that you won't find at other Thai Restaurants like tenderloin, bone marrow, short ribs, truffle rice, and branzino. Also some vegan items are served here. They also don't serve some things that you might expect like yellow, green and red curry. They are located about 10 minutes from the strip and also about 10 minutes from the Durango and Ikea. Pretty dishes, glasses, and candles adorn the tables. There are interesting light fixtures to see. I may be wrong but I only noticed soft beverages here. I recently read in the paper that the chef from what was considered one of the top Asian Restaurants on the strip opened Amata Modern Thai as his own restaurant so I felt that it was worth a try. I must confess I really wanted to try one of the unique Specialty Dshes that I can't get at other Thai Restaurants. Sadly they ran out of it on Tuesday so it wasn't available for Wednesday lunch. I was very lucky that my server knew the menu well and was able to help me make the right decision for me on a different choice. She was also helpful on selecting the amount of heat choice. I went with the Pad Gra Pow (Spicy Basil) with Chicken. The chicken was masterfully tender and well infused with basil. Also the serving was generous and it came with steamed rice. #3 out of 5 for heat I'd say is plenty for most people. My husband went with the Drunkin Noodles with beef. When I heard that one of the chefs of Hakkasan left and ventured on their own off strip, I had to hunt down the restaurant and check it out. This is at a strip mall, but don't let that stop you from going. The place is not that big, but worth the trip. Ambiance was cozy and simple. Wish they had booths but i think that would take too much space. We had the prawns wrapped in crispy noodles like katafi. They were nicely presented and tasted amazing. I had the Golden King Crab Curry. It was amazing! It's supposed to be 1.5 lbs, however, some were mixed in the curry sauce. Wish most of the crab were displayed as toppers, so you get a great visual. But that did t take away from the excellent taste. Hubby got a beef dish that was also good. Beef was tender and seasoned well. Before we placed our orders, I asked what dessert they had. I was told that the only dessert they have is mango sticky rice but they ran out of coconut milk. So, no dessert. I was bummed... But this is where their service shined. As we were finishing our meal, I asked again for dessert just in case something changed. Our server said they were making one just for me! We started with their Signature sangria. It was good, albeit more ice than actual sangria. We ended up ordering two pitchers. We also got the lao papaya salad, black pepper tenderloin beef, pad see ew with chicken, branzino with sweet chili sauce and short rib fried rice. We had also ordered the duck curry, but that never came and we were not charged for it. The portions are small. When we usually go to thai, we have leftovers, but not at Amata. Looking at a new Thai spot in Vegas, Mata Midern Thai is our choice tonight. Located on a busy street, the interior decor is light and fresh with unique calm lighting. The staff could not be nicer and inquisitive about how we found them, Eater. One patron is filming a documentary on his cell phone with lighting about the food. We started with the goong sarong: prawns rolled in crispy fried noodles with spicy plum sauce. Crispy bites with good sauce but lacking a real flavor profile, just crunchy. The branzino with sweet chili tamarind sauce and chunks of pineapple / lime was savory but over-sauced. The extra sauce was great with the rice but, I was not able to discern the brazino. Our final choice was the crab fat rice over a drunken noodle style dish. The noodles needed flavor, had tons of crab meat and a generous helping. The selection was good but not a great choice. The potion sizes here are a good value, it is the flavors that were over-powering or lacking. I wanted to live Amata Modern Thaibut, it just missed the mark. First time trying the spot tonight and it's definitely gonna be my new favorite Thai restaurant in Vegas! Everything from the food, the variety of food and just all of the spices and flavors that accommodate each dish really are well thawed out and absolutely delicious. The service is incredible. And when it comes to the ambience, I love how intimate but also beautiful the space has to offer, and I love that there's windows surrounding the restaurants you get fresh light, and a beautiful atmosphere. read more

Great off the strip restaurant. Came for early mothers day dinner. I liked how they had non-basic thai dishes. The interior is very cute and clean. Apparently the chef is from Hakkassan and you can tell a lot of other Asian influence in the menu. Decided not to order the classic popular dishes because of reading other yelp reviews. A lot of the main dishes came with white rice and were all solid portion sizes. Recommend: -Bone marrow w/ roti. Not a ton of meat but great flavor -Short rib fried rice. They made it gluten free for my sister -Beef carpaccio. Liked the spice and garnishes -Pork belly. Similar to filipino lechon kawali Dont recommend: -Fried branzino. It was an orange chicken style/ sauce so couldnt taste the fish much. Also too sweet -Tofu and eggplant. Good choice for vegetarians but also very saucy and sweet -Lychee fizz and Coconut panda drinks. They were just fine. Wish I got thai tea. Waiter was very friendly and food came out fast. But we were only 1 of 2 tables dining. We were a party of 5 but on the check they said we were 6 and they included auto gratuity. Seems like they did that on purpose? This Thai spot is honestly such a cute find. The interior has a charming, cozy vibe that makes it feel a little more special than your typical casual place, but still very comfortable. Parking is surprisingly easy, which already puts it ahead of a lot of places. Service was excellent--attentive, polite, and efficient without being overbearing. The portions are just right. Not oversized, not tiny--perfect balance where you leave satisfied without feeling heavy. Everything tasted solid, but the standout was the black noodle dish. It had a really unique flavor profile that you don't come across often--rich, slightly sweet, and very well-balanced. Amata did not disappoint... everything positive said about this place is SOOOO TRUE!! It's amazing!! Our waitress was great.. she recommended entree's that were delicious and gave her honest comments about other entrees that we were thinking of ordering.. I like that because it helps us make a better decision on the foods to order. Reservations are definitely recommended because the restaurant isn't every big.. I like that their seats were comfortable! It's a really cute date night spot as well as being very hospitable for a small group. P.S. my favorite was the bone marrow with roti... Delicious! What a steal for a quick meal during lunchtime hours! Only on weekdays...i forgot to take a pic of the menu but the selections are spectacular dishes. There was only one server running around today, Thursday April 30 during noon, hopefully there will be more help days ahead. I did not get to ask for her name but she's very fit and very attentive. She's also pregnant too, amazing lady-- seating us, taking our orders, pouring & refilling our water throughout the meal while attending to other tables. It was busy! The foods were absolutely delicious. We will definitely come back here again. Took us 30 minutes to drive from Henderson to this location. Totally worth it. It was quick and foods were freshly made to order. Love the black sesame balls with the sugar ginger water, very refreshing after the meal. read more

Beautiful restaurant aesthetic, attentive servers, and incredibly creative, delicious dishes. I went with a larger group, so we ordered a variety of dishes--while everything was excellent, my favorites were the Hoi Shell Shae Nam Pla and the Bone Marrow Short Rib Khao Soi. I'm glad this place is close to home. Had an early dinner and decided to check this place out that had amazing reviews. For appetizers we ordered the crispy garlic prawns and the bone marrow with rotti. It was so yummy. Then followed by the short rib noodle and the crispy duck panang. So savory. I loved all the foods we ordered and to wash it down with a lychee ginger fizz. Service was excellent and staff were so nice. It wasn't as busy because we got there early but after an hour it started to pick up. Place is clean and still new. Definitely be back again. Happy Eats! read more
