It was our first time trying Yu by Sijie, and we had such a great experience! The restaurant is beautiful, elegant, and has a really inviting atmosphere. They also have a huge selection of dishes to choose from, which makes it hard to decide what to order! Our favorite was definitely the matcha and pistachio xiaolongbao -- such a unique and delicious combination! I've never had anything like it anywhere else. Yu By Sijie is an amazing and very different Chinese Restaurant located in Summerlin in Tivoli Village. Some things like the vinegar beef cubes come out on a sizzling skillet. Some things like some sort of breaded pork come out in a cloud of dry ice. The soup dumplings (chicken) I can say are amazing. The spicy boiling fish is spicy and does taste like real Szechwan food. The dining areas are decorated nicely. They have a few traditional tables but most of the seating are booths. On one side of most of the booths there are fish-less fish tanks. If Yelp had an alternate rating for one month NEW RESTAURANT I would have picked that as my rating because - Ordering here is the biggest problem. They give you a tablet to place your order. NONE OF THE FOOD HAS DESCRIPTIONS. And some of the menu items are in Chinese. THAT IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. They do have servers that try to be helpful but they listen and just thank you for pointing out the errors. I usually judge a restaurant on the food and for what I tried so far I would give five stars for the food (soup dumplings, spicy boiling fish, red chili pepper stir fry chicken, sweet garlic eggplant), and a very nice bag to bring home the leftovers). The food was amazing! We had Peking duck with the paper thin pancakes and all the yummy sauces. The hawthorn jelly was delightful and rounded out all the flavors. The pork was thin the greens were bright. Sesame balls had the best red bean to mochi ratio. The plating is hella cute. The service was top notch with a lot of care. Watching the Peking duck station was so fun it was clear the chefs care and their knife skills sooooo good. CiCi was on the floor and just a bright spot of sunshine! The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately, that's where the experience took a deep dive. When we arrived, we entered our phone number into a tablet to join the waitlist and were directed to a waiting area with tables and uncomfortable seating. Then employees started setting the table which was confusing because we had been told it was only a waiting area. We decided to just stay there since they already set the table even though it was a waiting area . We were handed another tablet to place our own order with very little explanation. The whole process felt confusing and impersonal because we barely interacted with anyone. For the prices they charge, I expected much better service and a more welcoming dining experience. The food we tried was okay, but it wasn't enough to make up for the confusing setup, lack of service, and expensive bill. I'm honestly not sure I'll be back. As I'm writing this review, I realized that I got a text that I am now being removed from the waiting list. Haha we went yesterday. My cousin texted me in the middle of the night to tell me about this place and that they were in their soft opening. Coming in, this place took me by surprise. It's huge inside and gorgeous. They have an open kitchen, multiple tables, booths, and lots of high chairs for kiddos. Between each booth are aquariums (currently not filled with fish?). Love that they have their sauces labeled. They even provide a kids plate for your little ones. You scan your phone to order. I will say wifi isn't the best in this area, so it took some time. We ordered the crispy quinoa prawns, glass noodles with crab meat, siu mai, half a Peking duck (this comes with the pancakes, cucumbers, scallions, sauces, and these sweet cubes in the middle. We accidentally ordered extra thinking the duck came alone since each side was listed). For a soft opening, service was pretty speedy and everyone was so helpful on what to order. We had a wonderful dinner at Yu by Siijie, a new Chinese restaurant in Tivoli Village. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. We enjoyed the Half Peking Duck ($55), Gan Ban String Beans, Chef Special Sweet & Sour Pork (great presentation with dry ice), and the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. The portions were generous enough to share and enjoy together. The Peking duck was especially fantastic - it com a with all the sides and the traditional crepes, and the beef noodle soup had the perfect amount of spice and richness. All of the food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. We loved being able to share several dishes and experience different flavors throughout the meal. The service was wonderful and attentive and although we just had water, they refilled our glasses multiple times throughout the meal. Yu by Siijie is definitely a place we'll be coming back to! If you're in Las Vegas and love authentic, flavorful Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend giving them a try. Plus locals don't have to deal with Chinatown or Strip traffic. read more

So glad we found Yu by Sijie! We ordered the half duck, string beans, soup dumplings, potstickers and crispy rice soup--and OMG, that soup was AMAZING! Honestly, it was the best crispy rice soup I've ever had. Everything was delicious and full of flavor, and we left already talking about what we're going to order next time. I was happy to find Yu by Sijie pop up, offering authentic Sichuan cuisine and open late. It is still their beginning stages at the soft opening, so the employees are still training and getting a rhythm. The interior of the restaurant if well done. The booths for 4 people have aquariums at the end of the table which was unique and fun. They also had booths that seemed quite large, not sure how many they could seat, but seems like a great opportunity for a larger family/group to be able to gather and share all the dishes. Ordered from an iPad which was impersonal and not aligned with my idea of a quality dining experience, or maybe it can be a secondary option, to add dishes or sides easily, but not for the primary ordering. I had asked the waitress for recommendations and she didn't seem knowledgeable about the type of cuisine or even preferences. Their house oil is delicious, and standard at every table, as well as the other basics. I believe dining is an entire experience, and while the food was very good, I think they need to spend time and be particular in hiring/training those that want to share the history of the food and be a part of the experience. The wait staff felt like a mediocre chain restaurant, while the flavors seemed top notch. The upper management provided a different experience, which I appreciated, once the manager, Emie, was finally called over. I had arrived later than I had expected because of getting lost, which I had informed staff about, and immediately upon sitting, they told me kitchen was closing soon, which I was understanding, so I had a few dishes picked out and just some questions, and instead of providing assistance, she basically rerouted my choices, (I wanted a meat dish - then she pointed me to a pork dish and shrimp dish...) then sent over another guy who emphasized that the Spicy Boiling Beef, was not actually spicy, and tried to point me to another beef dish with peppers... and since we were looking at an iPad, he was like lowered at my sitting level and kind of in my personal space and trying to get me to this other dish... well anyways, they then said it was last call (which was really unwelcoming and I believe they could have offered a little flexibility, since they were the ones trying to change my mind on dishes, causing confusion, and unable to answer the most basic of questions). So I went with my original, Spicy Boiling Beef, and it was, in fact, very spicy.. Things got better after the dish arrived, but even closing the check was difficult, and both the staff helping with it were just not pleasant to be around. Location: very hidden, and the directions linked from Yelp were confusing. It's located just above and over from the entrance to the lower parking garage. So when you think you're getting close, you can't see it, and are taken down the garage and it says you're there. But I didn't see signage to get me there from the garage, so drove back out and just parked along the street and followed the walking directions. There isn't much walking traffic tucked that far back, so I hope they'll improve their signage to bring more customers through. I would go back, and hope they get things sorted to evolve the experience. read more

We came to check out this new spot in Summerlin, and we're so glad we did! We've been looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant that's beautiful, welcoming, and a great place to enjoy a nice meal with friends and family--and I think we found it! The ambiance is beautiful, and the food was just as impressive. The dumplings were incredible--so flavorful and filled with delicious soup. I was amazed at how much soup was inside while the delicate skin stayed perfectly intact without breaking! The hand-pulled noodles were another highlight. The broth was comforting and hit the spot without being overly heavy or overpowering. The staff were also incredibly attentive, kind, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Came to Yu By Sijie for a spontaneous dinner and I'm really glad we did. I didn't take any pictures, but honestly, pictures wouldn't do the food justice. It's something you really have to experience for yourself. We ordered the duck and I wish we would have gotten the whole duck instead of the half. Everything was delicious, but the spicy numbing noodle soup was definitely one of my favorites. I couldn't get enough of it. My buddy wanted to find a restaurant where we could have some leftovers to take home. Looking back, we probably should have just split the leftovers between us. Someone has granted my wishes because I've been waiting for a good Chinese restaurant to open in Summerlin. I'm from SGV so my standards are pretty high lol and so far, this has been the only place that has made me happy in Vegas. Perks: No wait on Saturday at noon. You scan on your phone and order through that, which is perfect for a shy, introvert like myself. There are photos which makes ordering so easy. I ordered: A+: Fried Potstickers - so crunchy and juice at the same time A: Juicy dumplings - very juicy and probably better than Din Tai Fung A: Fried rice was very good B-: Beef and Broccoli was good but nothing too special D-: Walnut shrimp. I don't know what was in the breading but it was soft and it was more like soggy corn dogs, which I didn't like at all. The interior was really cute, service was pretty good and fast, and the best part of this experience was meeting the owner at the end. She was so beautiful and sweet. Went here for the first time tonight. Extremely impressed with the food and service. Very friendly staff and beautiful interior decor. We had hot and sour soup, sweet and sour spare ribs, Sui Mai as appetizers and then shared half a Peking duck. I have eaten Peking duck all over the world including many times in China. This dick ranks up there with the very best. So many times the meat is dry but their duck was not dry at all. Also, so many places give you too few pancakes for the amount of duck. But they included 8 or 10 pancakes, which is plenty for half a duck. The skin was perfect also. Yu By Sijie is a very well put together chinese restaurant specializing in peking duck that can be seen roasting in their open kitchen when you walk by. Decor is very modern with a lot of imported wood fixtures and decorative fish tanks. Service was a little slow since it's a brand new restaurant which i'm sure they will fix moving forward. We started with the veggie egg rolls that were very crispy and paired well with the sweet sauce provided. They could have put more veggies inside though. The hot and sour soup was good but maybe a little on the thick side with too much corn starch. Stir fried eggplant and string beans were cooked perfectly and flavorful. Try the beef chow fun if you're looking for a well balanced dish featuring noodles. A must try is the beef roll appetizer. Definitely trying their peking duck on the next visit! read more

Despite having hundreds of Chinese restaurants to go to in Vegas, I've finally found the best one that has the most authentic and delicious tasting food. I've been here twice with family and we've tried various dishes which all were really tasty. I'd highly recommend their pork dumplings, roasted duck, and their beef chow fun and Dan Dan noodles. Fried rice was mediocre so I'd pass on it. But this is a solid place with attentive staff and it's very clean and nicely decorated. Perfect for a date or family gathering. The beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice, spicy dumplings, and half duck were all excellent -- flavorful, fresh, and served hot. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the meal even better. The only thing that didn't make sense was the rice situation. If you order a main dish, it really should come with rice. It's such a basic part of the meal, and it can't cost much for them to include it. Having to order rice separately feels unnecessary and a little inconvenient. Totally enjoyed our first dine-in lunch here today! The restaurant is elegant, classy, artistically furnished (beautiful table side aquariums!), with calming lighting and music. The Crispy quinoa prawns were unique, really tasty and they really were prawns in size. The Mongolian Beef was good and very tender. The Twin Pepper Wild Mushrooms were also good -- just be careful not to bite one of the hot peppers. Love mushrooms but don't think we'll order this again. Everything is expensive and a la carte including the rice ($3) but they give a lot and the presentation of all the dishes was amazingly beautiful. You select what you want to order on an iPad but if you encounter problems, the servers are very helpful. Manager Amy and all the staff were friendly, nice and attentive -- thank you! By the way, they also help you pack up leftovers at your table. Next time, we would like to try other dishes especially the Peking Duck. The food here is very authentic! I'm from Sichuan, so I'm pretty particular about Chinese food, and the Sichuan-style boiled fish was really good. The Peking duck was our family's favorite--it was so authentic that it reminded us of what we had in China. We just came back from China, and honestly, the food here is very comparable to what you'd find at a good Chinese restaurant back home. The atmosphere is also fantastic. A New Luxury Chinese Dining Experience in Summerlin! Yu by Sijie is a brand-new Chinese restaurant located inside Tivoli Village in Summerlin. When you enter the mall, look for Leon Café and walk straight past it toward the back--the restaurant is located deeper inside the mall. We started with the Cherry Yam, a sweet and delicious appetizer that was a great way to begin our meal. The Truffle Xiaolongbao and Sea Urchin Xiaolongbao were both so unique and flavorful. The delicate soup dumplings paired with truffle and sea urchin created such an interesting combination. The Half Peking Duck was one of my favorites. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, while the crispy skin wrapped in thin pancakes with the savory-sweet sauce was absolutely delicious. The Chef's Special Sweet & Sour Pork was another standout. It was ultra crispy on the outside with a perfectly balanced sweet and tangy sauce, and I loved that it was served table-side. If you love spicy food, definitely try the Emei-Style Eel! It has a serious kick, but I personally love spicy food, so I highly recommend it. The flavor was bold and delicious! We also enjoyed the Hojicha and Matcha Lattes, which were refreshing and a lovely way to finish the meal. A special thank you to Manager Amy and our server Johnny, who were both incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. So, part of me wanted to keep this absolute gem a secret so I'd never have to fight for a reservation. But if this place disappears because you all didn't know about it, I'll never forgive myself. Hands down, this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Vegas. We kicked it off with the Gan Ban String Beans....blistered to perfection, carrying just enough spicy kick, and tossed in the ideal amount of garlic and salt. Next came the Red Oil pork wontons....swimming in a fragrant chili oil topped with fresh, raw minced garlic and tender bok choy. Pure, fiery delight. Then came the undisputed star of the evening....the Sweet Garlic Pork with Flat Noodles. Calling this a flavorful dance party in my mouth, is an understatement. The noises I was making while eating this were downright inappropriate and made my boyfriend blush (wink wink)! Naturally, we couldn't skip the dim sum classics. The Pork Soup Dumplings were phenomenal, but the Beef Brisket Soup Dumplings somehow managed to top them....rich, savory, and bursting with broth. For the Unfamiliar, please don't just giggle at the name and move on, you need to try the Ma-Pao Tofu with Minced Pork. You'd be missing out on pure bliss if you did. The contrast between the silky-soft tofu and the authentic, mouth numbing Szechuan peppercorns put me straight into a food coma.
