Definitely the worst coffee experience I've ever had. The cashier and barista, a lady with attitude (dark curly hair) was rude to begin with, even after I had placed my order. While I'm paying for my order I ask where the ladies room is. She responds with "four blocks down the street." I ask if it's walkable or requires a car. She responds with "I dunno it's a street" and starts laughing. Totally unnecessary to respond that way, especially as I'm visiting and have never been here before. Definitely never coming back and recommend for those who are visiting not to come here either. This is the Rosemary beach location. There are better coffee places elsewhere, with better hospitality. read more

Coffee is alright, they put way too much syrup. I thought i was the only person who thought that. But, I watched a couple take a sip of there drink and heard them say it's way too sweet. Good coffee went to waste.. tip: ask them to put less syrup if you don't like your coffee sweet. read more

Amavida is a cute and convenient coffee shop if you are in Rosemary. I really enjoyed the iced matcha latte. It was one of the better ones that I have had! It was a bit expensive overall but you are paying for convenience. Amavida got pretty bad reviews but I gave it a chance which I am glad that I did! The workers were not the kindest but I have had worse service in Rosemary. I would give Amavida a chance if you are in the area! read more

It is easy to get sucked into the care-free ambiance of Rosemary Beach. The Utopiaesque landscaping and unique architecture sets the perfect scene for a vacation. On our recent visit we decided to visit Amavida for a leisurely coffee while we read a good book. However, their pretentious menu and hipster staff just fell short of our expectations. We have visited Amavida every year on our vacation, but this year it was different. Their plush and cozy furniture was replaced with hard aluminum chairs. Their delicious pastries that we remembered are now over priced and underwhelming. And the coffee, though gourmet, was expensive and left a lot to be desired. My husband ordered a Cubano and I got a 20 oz French press. I also got a chocolate croissant. Despite telling them that we were dining in I had to request a ceramic mug and plate for my croissant instead of the paper bag and cup they gave me. They even gave me plastic ware for the croissant which promptly snapped when trying to cut the dense roll. This is a pet peeve for me because I go to a coffee shop largely for the experience. I understand that some people need their orders to go, but disposable ware shouldn't be the default, especially with the prices they are charging. The Cubano was ready at least 7-10 minutes before my French press. By the time my French press was ready my husband was already finished with his tiny espresso drink. When they called my name for the French press I was surprised to see a giant cup on the counter. I told the girl that I had ordered a French press and she told me that is what she made me. I asked "don't you normally serve the French press with a cup and leave the coffee in the press so it stays hot?" And she said no, that they pour the entire press into a single mug. A single humongous mug. No room for cream. No room for sugar. And tepid by the time I got 1/4 way into the cup. I sloshed my way back to the table where my husband was cutting into the chocolate croissant. "Where is the chocolate?" he asked. Amid the heavy layers of thick croissant was a tiny dime sized smudge of chocolate about 2 inches long. Hardly enough chocolate to boast it's title. Hubby went to the register to ask the gentleman if this is a usual proportion and was told that they outsource their baked goods "sorry". No offer for a replacement. All in all, it was just a disappointing experience. We spent about $15 for a croissant, espresso, and French press. I'm happy doing so if it is exceptional, but it wasn't. We will resist the temptation to return the next time we are in Rosemary Beach and will spend our money on less pretentious things like the yummy donuts down the road at Donut Hole. read more

Amavida is definitely an asset for Rosemary Beach, but their staff and service could be so much better. When you walk in and there are more than 3-4 people in line, you could spend 15 minutes waiting for your coffee while staff are talking to each other and not focusing on getting orders ready. I walked in the other day and there was no one in the store. I asked the young lady at the front desk if they still sell coffee from Peru because my brother in law was staying in Rosemary Beach last winter, and I wanted to purchase some for him for Christmas. The woman, who was doing absolutely nothing, told me I would have to look on the wall, which was about 8 feet from her. Instead of helping a customer, when she clearly had nothing to do bothered me. So I went over and looked at all the coffees that were there, and I told her I don't see any from Peru. Again, instead of walking over to look, she just said that they must be out of it. I asked if any of the other stores would have it, and instead of offering to call for me, she told me that I should call the Seaside Store, or drive down there to see. I walked out of the store frustrated, and tried calling the Seaside Store. I got an answering machine to leave a message. I was parked out front of the Rosemary store, and I see her out front wiping down a table. I get out, and tell her that the Seaside Store only allowed for me to leave a message, and I was leaving the next day and would not be able to purchase it. She questioned if I "Really" couldn't talk to anyone. I told her: "If I could have talked to someone, I would not be standing here talking to you". I asked if she would call Seaside, and after a few moments of her questioning me and asking me again if I wanted to drive to Seaside, I told her I wasn't going to drive to Seaside unless someone could confirm they had it. She finally called and realized that no one was answering and looked at me and said: "You are correct, they didn't answer". And that was it. I didn't get the womans name, but my guess is she is in her twenties, may have come from a Carribean Island, and definitely has an attitude with customers. I will not return to Amavida again, and that is sad since I'm a full time customer here. I will go to Starbucks, where they treat customers much better. You would think Amavida would be trying harder to keep it's customers satisfied, especially since tough competition is only a few steps away!!! read more

Would give 5 stars however they always "sell out" of pastries, etc. if you expect big crowds, especially on Fridays-Sundays, please make more. And would love more of a variety. So glad we tried this after walking past it the night we got in. The coffee is great. I had a latte and was anything but disappointed. I lived in Seattle for 5 years and can a coffee snob if we are being honest here. I had a scone (apple cinnamon one day and blueberry another) and my friend had a cinnamon roll. Amavida was the closest cafe to where I am staying, and I went in when I wanted a drink and a snack. My friend has gotten coffee here which was pretty good, as well as a brownies, which both of us agreed was fairly average. I got frozen matcha, which I found underwhelming and not very matcha. I also got a breakfast empanada which I found to be disappointing, especially for the fact I spent $6 on it. I wouldn't say it's bad but I was fairly unimpressed and I found the food and matcha drinks to be meh, their coffee drinks are pretty good but I'd say thats the only reason I would return here. read more

We were hoping this place would have great coffee due to the crowds but have been disappointed both visits. I've ordered the same drink (iced latte) two days in a row and sad to say it tasted drastically different both days. First day was alright, second day was so bad I took two sips and threw it out. In fact, my entire group ordered here and no one liked it. If you order ice coffee or anything with a straw, you will receive a cardboard straw which gets soggy before you can even finish your drink. I was excited to try Roast magazine's 2018 roaster of the year. I brought an excellent burr grinder and a Kalita Wave on my beach vacation. I asked the Barista for their best washed coffee. He was very quick to recommend one bag over all of the others, so I went with it. While it's unquestionably good and worth the price I paid, I was disappointed that the processing was not washed. The bag, it turned out, was mislabeled. I contacted the coffee shop via their contact web page. Found a new study spot! Love the feel of the place and the girls helped me find a gluten free friendly drink and even when I had a reaction to one of the flavored drinks they were nice enough the change it without a hitch. Free wifi and very chill feel. Plus theres many tea pots, cups and magazines for sale. All of which I thought was hella cute and its in the A beautiful square in rosemary beach. Great service, a few gluten free items but I'm hoping the owners will expand those selections. Hint hint. Will be back for another trip out. They have the best fresh bacon, egg and cheese biscuits. We make it a point to get them at least one morning every time we come down here. I'm a local - live about five minutes from here - and come at least two or three times a week. I appreciate the variety of non-dairy milk options, and I greatly appreciate the locals discount they give! Living on 30 A, it's easy to sometimes feel like your business doesn't matter in the sea of tourists. The new renovation also makes the store look much brighter and cleaner, and I've always had relatively friendly service. It's not perfect - I've probably had them serve me the wrong drink or the wrong size drink maybe five times in the last year. However, I go often, it's obviously very crowded during busy months at Rosemary, and I usually just take what they give me instead of complaining. Five stars because I appreciate what they offer in an area that doesn't always have a ton of day-to-day amenities for us locals. Sure beats driving all the way to Pier Park for Starbucks, and it doesn't close in Dec/Jan like some other restaurants! read more

These are some coffee nerds (in a good way). We stayed in Rosemary Beach for a family vacation and found Amavida to offer the best coffees and, just as important, a wide selection of newspapers and magazines for beach reads. This is one of the few places in town that carry the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal. My wife and I had the iced coffee on a few of our visits and it was excellent. There are pastries and other food items for sale too. There is free wi-fi access in the store and a nice little patio too. read more

Half of your customers stand out hover over each other w waiting for a seat. But there's SO much merch out in the seating area that I didn't see anyone buy.
