This was our second time trying Amavida. The first time was in 2017 and we really enjoyed the coffee and atmosphere. Our second time was last month and we felt really out of place. We were there during the week and the place was definitely busy with locals. I felt like we were stared at the entire time and when we went to order, felt rushed. I know the area has really boomed with new homes and residence since our last visit, but just isn't a place I would want to go to again. Our lattes were good, same as our first visit. read more

We visited both the smaller Seaside location and the larger in comparison Rosemary Beach location. Both with equally delicious coffee. Found their espresso drinks and ground coffee to be very smooth while with a bold flavor. Both didn't have a line and a slow stream of customers around 8A in October to be able to serve us efficiently. We enjoyed sitting outside the shop in the central squares of both Seaside and Rosemary Beach. read more

Went there last night. Argumentative and hostile. 30 mins before closing. Asked about GF options (dietary non-negotiable). She pointed to the board and we were told to look at the cartons ourselves (?) We moved here from SE Florida after living in major cities. Time to leave. I don't generally review but this was one of the worst interactions. The beaches are magnificent if you are lucky enough to live here and can experience those perfect days, but it's not enough. The service industry here shuts down off season and you are left with jaded adjacent locals who are not interested in or understand what good service is. Plenty more to say but I choose this establishment as the one I review, and typically don't review. When a server puts no love in what they are doing it ruins the experience. The experience is not just about the consumption of the product. It is the gestalt of the included factors, and service is a massive part of that. read more

So many coffee shops around the Rosemary beach area both chain and boutique. Amavida was clearly not your international multiplication coffee shop and the care they put into each cup made that clearly evident. Nestled in among the other shops of the area, the scent of their freshly roasted beans permeated through the air pulling me through their doors and up to the counter where I was greeted by a very polite young lady. I kept my order simple with a medium size latte, no sugar. My sweet senses were tested by the tantalizing treats near the register. Alas I resisted and instead enjoyed the views of the quaint little store featuring various merch such as shirts and stickers. Once I received my cup of black magic the smoothing sipping experience of the coffee was just as good if not better than the delivery to my hand. I would recommend if you find yourself in the area to skip the big box coffee roasters and find yourself a cup of authentic Rosemary Beach brew. read more

Terrible service by a barista who was very bothered to serve us. Our Americanos' were bitter and expensive. The zucchini bread was good though. Bad service means never again will we come here. Usually I give four or five star reviews but my experience at this coffee shop ft me with a bad taste in my mouth. Waited outside to get in the shop and the wait was surprisingly short. Inside is a variety of 30A merchandise which makes the inside of the shop pop. The lady who took my order was not happy to be working nor did she care if you ordered something. I asked three times what flavors they had and she repeated where on the menu board they were located. She wouldn't tell me herself. Lazy. I didn't leave a tip because if you can't bother to tell me which flavors you have then why go above? I ordered the scone and flat white. Both were dismal like the service. Save your time and money and go to Seaside to Modica Market. Less pretentious and better pastries. read more

I wanted to love it. I spent a few days in Rosemary Beach with my best friend and our kids and husbands. I waited in line this morning more than 10 minutes before placing my order. It was busy, and the line didn't stop after I got my coffee. I ordered a honey oat milk latte - hot. It tasted burnt. The espresso tasted burnt and acidic. I spent $7 + on a fairly simple coffee drink. Extremely disappointing, and honestly was very reminiscent of a crappy Starbucks latte. I'm all about local, small business joints from coffee to food. When staying at the Rosemary Beach properties, we always take a morning or two to walk the streets and end up at Amavida for a muffin and coffee /tea. Today was exceptional because this September morning had a cool breeze outside and when we opened the door to the beloved establishment, the smell of just-ground coffee beans filled the air. It was a pleasant way to say, "Good Morning, visitors!" Upon ordering a carrot muffin and citrus hot tea, I wandered out to their patio to take in the beautiful city square. If you haven't visited Amavida, put it on your vacation bucket list immediately! You'll feel the southern welcome that you expected. read more

Fascinating pictures from the 50's and 60's beaches decorate the walls. It's always clean. The food is always a hit. Every-time. Have never had a bad dish. Someone always orders the chicken and waffles, it is a staple for us. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5, is service. On several separate occasions now our servers have been lackadaisical. They definitely take their time working. There is never a sense of hustle. This has led to several occasions now where glasses remained empty for long periods of time, or we waited for 10-15min after everyone had clearly finished for them to return to our table. On several occasions I actually would have to standup and flag down our server to get a check. Today I watched a small boy on a table next to us spill his water. No server came over to help his father clean up. Two nearby tables with ours all handed him our extra napkins to help. I explicitly noted one server see the activity and just walk away like she couldn't be bothered to help. My only complaint.

It was quite the popular spot with the line out the door, but despite this, the service was pretty quick. There's no designated parking lot, but there is street parking around. Bonus if you park father away and get to see more of the adorable area! ;)

The restaurant is beautiful, and we happened to go during the World Cup, so it was a nice touch that they had the games playing. Our waiter was super attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes and recommendations, very friendly throughout the meal. They started us off with a bread basket with a few different types of bread, all delicious. We ordered the mojo pork empanadas (comes with two, good size) and they were delish. For our main course, we got the Santiago grouper, it was tasty, but a little under-seasoned for our taste, both the rice and the fish, as well as the black beans. That said, this really comes down to personal preference since we like our food on the saltier side, and it was still good overall. My husband ordered the Perla del Sur ribs and those were amazing, the seasoning and sauce were so flavorful. Our waiter also recommended a cocktail called the Rose Berry, which was a great suggestion. By dessert we were already pretty full, but they brought us out a panna cotta for my birthday that was excellent. Overall, everything was delicious and the place is definitely recommended!

Again, maybe portions are bigger for dine-in. Taste-wise it was good. My wife's Lemon Shrimp Scampi was okay and the shrimp portion was a little more generous than my dish. The kids butter pasta was big. I was hoping they used a different type of pasta, but it seems like it's linguine all around The real disappointment came from the fried green tomatoes. I think they were undercooked and I could still taste some raw flour, which made it almost inedible. The ambiance of the restaurant seemed nice though, so maybe I would give it another shot in person.

The menu was what I remembered, simple fare: sandwiches, salads, drinks. Sort of a southwest vibe. The food was average and lacked the southwest kick needed to take it up to the next level (4 star). The servers were excellent and full of humor. Service was quick. It's too bad that the food was barely average in flavor and the seating was too limited and the space was too small. Guess that's what you expect in Rosemary beach. It's almost better if this was a take out place.
