Going to give a very honest review that reflects several other problems recent lower star reviews have also said they had. The BEST thing about this place is the staff. In fact we will probably come back here to do another room and we wouldn't bother if it had not been for how friendly the staff is, especially (but not exclusively) someone named Jack. Seriously, whomever owns/runs this place, take note: you need to give this man a raise, because without him and the other people working there, we would never come back. We did the horror/spooky themed room "The Estate" which is fairly high tech in many ways. Lots of really cool digital effects, in theory a very well designed room. Unfortunately our *very first* two puzzles did not function properly. One of the very first doors that is meant to spring open didn't do so; it popped open a crack but we couldn't pull it open easily and given the rules to never force things open, we didn't want to pull it HARD, which it turns out we should have. Also, after solving the very first puzzle, a door that was supposed to spring open did not do so. They have a rule that you cannot ask for a hint for the first ten minutes, so for ten minutes we milled around feeling stupid until we finally asked for a clue that literally spelled out how to solve the next major puzzle - and when we did, a door opened with a prop hidden inside that had *the way to solve the puzzle we just solved* written inside of it. So that was pretty damned frustrating. Certain other things were a bit off here and there, but the deisgn and concept were very immersive so ultimately we let it go and as a duo of only two we managed to finish with ten minutes left (but it would have been more if we hadn't wasted the first ten.) If this place could get it's sh*t together to not have broken puzzles/doors/portions, they'd probably avoid these negative reviews. My advice: come here, give it a try, but say to your gamemaster before you start "I have read some recent reviews saying that some puzzles and traps are having problems. Can you please be very attentive during our experience and make sure nothing goes wrong, and if it does, help to correct it quickly?" read more

For a person who have done multiple escape rooms, this would probably be my worst experience ever. Upon entering the building the staffs were all pleasant engaging which is why I am giving a 1 star. Overall, we escaped with lots of confusion and how things got activated. When asked, they stated that they were having lots of mechanical problems. When we asked for clues, not only did it take AWHILE for the clue, they also gave us clues that we already had solved. Very disappointed! read more

I don't ever write reviews, but was compelled to by how genuinely upset my fiancée was. Sorry for brevity, Yelp's character limit stinks. Background: we have been to dozens of rooms together across the east coast. We look forward to doing them. We've disappointed both times we've come to this location, this recent time plain miserable. Here are some ways escape games can succeed: *Atmosphere - The room and location and employees immerse you in the plot. *Engagement - A good escape game does not leave you unmotivated to continue. *Difficulty - Hardest metric to get right, but puzzles should follow a linear progression and solutions should make sense. In all of these dimensions, our room was unsuccessful. We did "The Lab." When we arrived our introduction was so subtle that we didn't even realize the clock was running. We also were never told who our gamemaster was. The room was so dark I had to use my phone's flashlight the whole time. We were completely lost for the first step, and after 15 minutes we gave up and asked for a clue. When the solution was revealed, we groaned; it was completely unrelated to anything we thought otherwise. Shortly after, the same was the case. This time, it was necessary info hidden in a dark place. By now it's 35 minutes in, two clues down, and for the first time ever we want to leave mid-way. I hurt my hand using one of the tools given (pic attached, not because of user error, and was bloody day-of), there was a box from another room in there. So much stuff labelled "DO NOT USE." It felt like we weren't supposed to be in there. Broken doors and a magnet puzzle i actually had to force open. Staff seemed, to us, uninterested and the room was more upsetting than rewarding. 2 stars and not 1 because there were a couple good puzzles and I appreciate those. Please, if you're a first-time escapee, don't come here; I would hate to have your view of such a fun enterprise ruined by this place. This place is not beginner-friendly. For starters, when I went to book online, there was no indication that the rooms have varying levels of difficulty. I learned this when we arrived and heard a staff member telling an exiting party, and thus found out I'd unknowingly booked an intermediate level room for our first time. This is a major oversight and such an easy fix. Also, we mentioned it was our first time at an escape room and there was no orientation for beginners, practice puzzle, tips, anything - just a video on what not to do (like try to force locks) and how to ask for our three clues. (Side note: the clues were less than helpful. Two out of three gave information we'd already deduced but did not know how to use.) We wasted a lot of our time in the beginning because we had no idea what we were doing. Also, one of the clues was problematic in that it involved symbols which were extremely similar and on a worn prop, so we wasted time there too. The room was very dark and we had to use our phone flashlights. I don't know if that is considered normal or not. Two stars because I expect it would be more fun if we went back now that we have a better idea what to do, if only I weren't so annoyed that I'm disinclined to give them any more of my money. read more

We went to this escape room for the fellridge estate room. I would not recommend this place at all. The first ten minuets you cannot use a clue. After those ten minutes we asked for a clue. 15 minutes of asking for a clue repeatedly and when finally got a clue.... But the lady had to come into the room and instead of telling us a hint she solved it for us. Stuff in the room was broken the staff even acknowledged it. This was one of the worst escape rooms I've ever been to in my entire life. First the sketchy wavier then it takes about 40 of the 60 minutes to get a singular clue. But when asking for clues she comes in and instead of giving clues she does all the work for us! And most of the stuff in the room was broken, not working, or extremely unreliable to solve the room. And if you have epilepsy, you will have a seizure in the spooky room. And the room isn't even scary except a small scream that was not even hearable to the naked ear. That room made me and my entire family feel stupid and it felt like I had one brain cell. making it unenjoyable, and just overall a waste of money and time that I'll never get back. Jackie the manager was rude as soon as we walked in at 5:30pm (our scheduled time) to tell us that the clock had already started. There was nobody else here but ok....go into the room that is "dimly lit" and unadvertised! I have an eye condition and was offered a flashlight again ok... then locks didn't work and therefore we wasted clues. As we were on phone with District manger another group came in 36minutes late and were offered another room! There are other Escape Rooms in area I recommend spending your money elsewhere! I've done other Escape Rooms and have never had a problem being accommodated for vision - this place sucks! read more

Well constructed rooms, even if the props are overly worn and hard to read now. I enjoyed the theme and the puzzles there were. I was actually surprised at how easy the room (pirates) was compared to other escape rooms in the area. The number of puzzles was roughly half that of some of the other places I've been, and the puzzles were not nearly as tricky. I'd say over all this was very straightforward with very little trickyness to it. Not sure I got 30 bucks a person worth of value out of the challenge presented when we walked out with nearly a third of the time remaining. read more

The Amazing Escape Room was my first experience at an escape room & I loved it. Our escape facilitator was Vanessa- she was amazing. She did a great job setting the story ahead of time & going over all of the rule. While in the room she provided us the perfect clues when we needed them most. Additionally, I think she was as excited as us when we escaped with 10 seconds to spare. We spent 59 minutes and 50 seconds in the "Illusionist" room and had a blast. They had other rooms in addition to the "Illusionist," you can read a bit about each room online while you book. Escaped my first escape room with 10 seconds to spare! A group of four of us had a living social coupon for a visit to escape the room. It was super easy to book using the living social code and there were descriptions of each room available online. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the host who checked us in. Luckily, we came in on a Sunday afternoon so our game was just the four of us. We did the "illusionist" and our game master, Vanessa was awesome. She did a great job explaining not only the rules of the game room including how the clues work but also the backstory of our game. You get three clues, but you can earn more before you start the game by following them on instagram or on facebook. We had a total of 5 clues, which you can use after 10 minutes have passed and there are 50 minutes remaining. Vanessa was super helpful when we were inside and I have to admit it was a lot more challenging than I anticipated! Once you have either failed or escaped, you get to take a picture with all the signs which is immediately uploaded onto their facebook page. There are a lot of cool different rooms offered, and I will definitely be back to try another room! It is a great group activity!! read more

You have to solve clues in precisely one order and because we solved puzzles out of order we got the winning messages before we'd even solved all of the puzzles. This place is Great! Nothing like a bit of family fun to get things going. Decided to do a sister's night & am glad we did! The staff was lively & fun and engaging from the onset of this journey. I tried the Manor Escape room with my girlfriend, the staff was very nice and despite a group coming late and not being very pleasant I really enjoyed the room. They had very in depth puzzles and several surprises throughout the room. The staff was very understanding with my issues of a second group who was very rude and who arrived about 25 minutes late, which was very nice of them. Cherry Hill offers 5 or 6 rooms ranging from rooms for kids to rooms for Escape room experts, I will absolutely return to this location and take a shot at some of their harder rooms. Great for groups or a date night, just pay attention to how many people will be in your room when you book the room sometimes doing a room with strangers can be very fun and sometimes you can run into not very fun people so always keep that in mind. read more

Oh my goodness. Rob is hilarious! The staff here are funny, engaging, and definitely helpful. We did make it out with a few helpful clues. We did the Pirate ship. I feel like I need to attempt the most difficult room "the night at the museum." We had a lot of fun, the beginning of the Pirate Ship is well...you will have to see! I used a Groupon which saved a couple dollars, but pricing is comparable to going into Philadelphia. The clues and locks and difficulty are definitely going to give you a run for your money. My first time going there was great! We did the laboratory and the young guy who was running it was really fun and made sure we had an awesome time. I had looked forward to going back and even suggested it to my family, which I ended up regretting and feeling guilty for even suggesting. Yesterday, we went for a birthday party for my brother. And WOW. It was terrible. It was crowded. The staff, in particular the one female worker with glasses, was INCREDIBLY rude to all of us from the second we walked in the door to fill out waivers. She was actually MEAN to my younger brother (who's birthday it was) because she was accusing him of not listening to her??? At the end, she was YELLING at one of my family members in front of the other customers for breaking something in the room (that was already broken) because she was "stressed." Also, she was complaining about having to hot glue something despite half of the stuff in the room (the Manor) already being broken. Completely unprofessional and extremely disrespectful. I'm surprised if no one else has complained about her. Stickers peeling off the wall, pieces being torn off boards/broken, pages being ripped. So much of this room was run down and broken. And to have her try and humiliate a family member, accusing them of something they did NOT do, after my father paid SO MUCh for everyone to just have a good time on my little brother's birthday... it's just so sad. This place needs employees who actually WANT the customers to have a good time. Out of our party of 7, none of us will be returning and I will no longer be recommending this place. read more

I've done a lot of escape rooms and this one was by far the worst. Very underwhelming, the employees were not enthusiastic. Was never told how to ask for clues or any rules or how it works. The game was broken and told us we completed when we didn't. They came in and had to reset and let us finish. The end of the game was a pathetic little plastic bottle in a broken box. This was my first time at an Escape Room and it was great! The staff were friendly from when we walked in and everyone seemed very laid back. Our game master, Reg, was great! He came in to help us with a lock that we just couldn't get open and at the end explained the things that we missed. He was excited for us and couldn't wait to take our picture! My first time ever and I absolutely had a blast! We came as 2 parties and our game master James is the best. He interacts with our teams and just made the game fun (which is what it's all about). It wasn't until he started giving guidelines that I realized he worked there Btw we did the Pirate Room. I surprised my husband at this location and he LOVED the pirate ship! One of our locks did break after 10 minutes of trying codes (even though we had it the first time) so that kind of stinks but other then that it was a lot of fun! The pirate ship is definitely for a GROUP of people versus just a couple because there is so much space to cover in the rooms. We can't wait to come back and try another room!!! My cousin ordered our event online and purposely picked an intermediate level room so we had a fighting chance. We find out from an employee, after losing, that we were given an expert level room with a 0% success rate. Zero. Why would we want to spend almost $30 a person on an event that's meant to be fun with our cousins on an experience that's so difficult, that no one has ever won. We wouldn't, we didn't, it sucked the fun right out of it. I didn't enjoy it enough to ever consider trying again. Also a clue popped out when it shouldn't have and an employee had to interrupt the game to take it back. The place seemed very disorganized from the beginning. read more
