#12 for 2023 I've been fortunate enough to travel attending many cons across the country. This has made it to my top three. Here's why. Cheapest parking you will ever pay. $10 for all day parking. A far cry from others that charge $40. Although the tickets sell out it is still fairly easy to walk through the main exhibitor hall. Not like other cons where you're packed like sardines. And you'll have the opportunity to pick your tickets up the day before the 1st day it begins to avoid those lines. If you can get the VIP tickets. What makes these special from other cons is they include a blank sketch cover drawn by one of the attending artist. That's what makes those VIP tickets worth while. Depending on the artist they can have a $100 value easily. If you get the artist to add more to it then that really can increase the value to 4 to 5 times as much. They do have the Cosplay contest Saturday evening. Then on Sunday they give the younger kids a chance to show their stuff by participating in a parade. Honestly, this is more fun to watch all those happy smiles. The official free swag treasure hunt allows an attendee to get free items from participating artist. And if you turn the card in you get another chance to win a whole lot more that includes comics, posters, books, toys, mugs, scrolls and a lot more. Some of the more popular artist had long lines. Luckily they were managed by promoter's staff keeping the situation sane. They also made sure it did not interfere with other artist's tables close by and traffic could easily get through. That's a big plus. A large cafe inside right next to the main hall made it convenient to grab a quick bite. The Starbucks is right next to the cafe too. Having food trucks parked right outside is even better offering a wider variety of food at more affordable prices. And on top of that there are so many eateries easily accessible from this location. I went to Bagelmania and Pink Box for breakfast 3 days straight. An easy walk to get to the convention center after we were done eating. Many of the guest are repeats. In talking with many of them they love being at this con for the relax atmosphere it offers. Where as other cons can be akin to a wild zoo. This event just finished for the year. i am looking forward to attending again next year. read more

Still a top con show in the Vegas Valley! I've been volunteering for the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con since it was first here in 2013. The show has come a long way since then in organizing lines, adding panels, and bringing in top notch artist talent. Especially in the middle of a hot, hot summer! This con is definitely not on the San Diego size level, but the great thing about this one is that it's a lot more personable. Artists are more likely to shoot the breeze with you while they sign or draw for you. It's not as crowded and as such the vibe is more relaxed. Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con is all about celebrating artists and writers of your favorite comics and books today. It also is a great venue for the smaller artist to show of their skills. This year's show focused on having more artists then reseller/retail booths, which is good. But me being a toy collector, I love buying me some new goodies! Luckily there still is a large number of vendors to fill your toy and comic book needs! I met a lot of top talent in this year's con. I got to see fan favorite George Lopez! Guy is a beast, he can draw all day long. He sketched on my Nerf Mjolnir Thor hammer! Met with Batman artist Greg Capullo and got a sig and tiny sketch from his as well (the dude hardly does sketches for folks)! Deadpool ace creator Rob Liefeld was on hand too! Jim Shooter! Charles Soule! Mark Bagley! John Romita Jr.! All in attendance! Great thing about this con is that you can have a comic theme weekend and stay at the South Point Hotel & Casino where to con is held...for DIRT CHEAP. You imagine that on a weekend when EDC is in town at the same time? Booking a room through Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con rates was easy! Only $90 a weekend night, with no resort fees! Hotel rates that weekend were near double without the con special. Plus you get a South Point fun book as well, gives you discounts on things like drinks and food! A buffet in the hotel for half off! I had crab legs & prime rib on Friday night...for $13 and change! Even going to the con was cheap as well! Tickets were available on Groupon for under $12 a day if you looked at the right times. How can you go wrong? Getting a rich comic con experience for a pauper's price? Come on! The Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con has only been getting bigger, floor space used is now much larger and the panels are getting bigger and better as well. They have recently added some decent celebrities to their roster of panels. Special guest this year was John Barrowman from Arrow and Doctor Who! They even had the voice actors from Power Rangers, and the voice actors from Sailor Moon! By far one of my favorite comic cons in all of Las Vegas. Can't wait to volunteer again next year! read more

Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con - Comic Books Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

Been coming to the Las Vegas Comicon since it's baby years when they were at the South Point Casino, but they have gotten big enough that they are now in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Each year, it just gets bigger and better! One year, I had the Sailor Moon VIP package, but I usually just get the Groupon. There are multiple booths of venders showcasing and selling their art. They even have some VIPs of the Comicon community. Last year, they even had Stan Lee. This year was all about Deadpool with the new movie still in theaters. It's not a requirement to dress in costume to come to Comicon, but definitely encouraged! I enjoy seeing all the different outfits people come up with. Perhaps next year I may actually dress up myself.. read more

Last weekend (June 30 2018) I attended the Amazing Las Vegas Comic-Con for my first time. I've been doing Comic-Cons since 2016. I've attended Southern California Cons like Wondercon, Comikaze, Long Beach (Con and Expo), Anime Expo, and other Cons like Phoenix, San Francisco, and Seattle. I think Amazing Las Vegas is just getting big enough to fit into that "just right" Con size, not super-packed and crazy, but not too small. There were quite a few Cosplayers (I would have liked to have seen more), plenty of vendors, a good selection of artists, and I attended a very well-done Panel on the Star Wars franchise. There was a nice food court right outside the Hall. My only complaint was the beer selection: they only had Bud Light! C'mon, you can do better than that! One of the coolest things was a booth with a Green Screen where they took a photo of you and put it with the background you choose. Here's mine! read more

2017 Amazing Comic Con was Amazing again this year. We attended on Friday and Sunday. My daughter dressed up as Storm and had a great time taking pictures with the Cosplay participants. Everyone was so kind and very accommodating to request for phots.The Convention Center was clean and thankfully had the AC blasting. Parking was free and plentiful. My husband was super excited to sit and hear Stan Lee, Todd Mc Far land and Rob Lie Feld on stage. He is still talking about it. He did get comics signed, lines were long, however we were in great company. Everyone was excited to be there and meet their favorite artist. We will return next year ! read more

1st time going to Amazing Vegas Con this year. Not bad but a lot smaller than the other comic cons we've been to. They had a great deal in Groupon for the passes. Under 10 years old are free. If you bought passes via Groupon, the line was non existent and we were able to get in very quickly. There was a long line to pick up or buy passes through the regular window. We primarily went to have comics signed for the hubby. There were many artists and vendor booths. The space itself was small and a few hours sufficed for us. We spent longer in lines waiting to get signatures than to walk around the whole convention. I gave it a 4 star solely based on the # of big names artists that were there and that we accomplished what we set out to do. Definitely much better to go to the smaller cons for signatures vs going to a big one like SDCC. Will definitely go back next year. read more

Well it was a must for me to bump up to five stars. From a comic collector that grew up in San Diego and went to that con for more than two decades, the Vegas con is really making headway. First get your tixs on Groupon, best way to do it. The selection of comics is really improving over the last few years and the artist that they have showing are top notch. The thing that I have noticed over the last couple of years is that the sellers are dealing more freely, and what I mean by that is they will lower the prices if you buy more than one book. I'm dropping them a star since this year their guests were just so meh as compared to last year. Also check in was disorganized. I had a VIP ticket and the check in guy didn't know when we'd be allowed in and didn't tell me which line to get into. Vendors were still good, but the organizers still do not hire professional cosplayers. I'll keep going, but I won't waste money on a VIP ticket next year. read more

I feel like this is a pretty well organized event, and only seems to get better each year. The booths are setup in a way that makes sense and are easy to navigate. The staff also seem very on top of things, especially when it comes to directing crowds and controlling lines. The actual attendees are usually very polite and enthusiastic about being there. The exhibitors also offer unique artwork and one of a kind products. This year, there was everything from artwork printed on metal to hand drawn artwork to handmade dragon stuffed animals with various designs. The prices, for a convention, are decent, and artists usually offer deals. The only drawback this year was the attitude of the South Point staff, especially in the concession stands. While I know that this is not something the Con staff can control, it still affects the overall feeling of the event. This past Con, it seemed that they were not really prepared for this crowd. There were only two registers at each window, and I believe there were only 2 windows in the entire venue, and the one I was at had a register down for about 20 minutes. And instead of ringing us up at the other, usable register, the employee forced us to wait for the broken register to become available again, all the while people who were behind us in line were being rung up. Oh, and did I mention that they had already brought our food out, and set it in front of us? The little snafu with the concession stand did not take away from the experience, however, it did still make me grumpy. I highly recommend this event for anyone interested in "nerdy" activities and encourage you to dress up and show your creative side! read more

3 Days of crazy awesome madness..! This year I was fortunate enough to catch all 3 wacky days as a Volunteer and had an incredible time. The Cosplay was fantastic, a lot of folks enjoying their hobbies for great fun and the amusement of others. A lot of vendors from around the area, the region and even the country... all offering a great assortment of pop culture and mostly comic themed items from earrings to batarangs to near mint copy of Amazing Spider-Man number 1 and everything in between. Guests of Honor included Ray Park (Darth Maul & Snakeyes), Gerry Conway (co-creator of the Punisher, Jason Todd and more), Todd (and Missus) McFarlane (creator of Spawn) as well as the cast of Batman '66 with Burt, Julie and Lee, all of whom were so great with their fans (there were many more great guests and artists but these were among the ones I was fortunate enough to meet). And of course, Stan Lee..!! To have an opportunity to meet "The Man", let alone have a personal conversation was incredible and another reason I'm a True-Believer! Excelsior! read more

This is my 2nd year in a row attending the Comic Con. It really was really Amazing! Ok, Stan Lee, Todd McFarland, and Rob LIEFELD were the heavy hitters who attended this year. They had a conference and took questions from the crowd. The Cos Players was top notch and my daughter even came dressed up for this event. The tickets was reasonably priced, kids under 10 are free as always. I came on Friday and Sunday, I had some comics signed, shopped a little, and took tons of pictures. I am an artist and comic creator. I had a great time setting up at ALVCC. There was a large enthusiastic group of fans at the show who were interested in commissions and original art. Having the show inside the South Point Casino makes it super convenient. I was able to eat at the various restaurants, watch a movie, play blackjack and get up in time to be at my table before the show opened. Lots of free parking was a welcome change from other shows. The staff of ALVCC was very organized and helpful. It made set up easy and hassle free which after traveling from LA was much appreciated. I give the event 5 stars. I'll definitely be back ready to draw for the crowds. read more

They advertise guests that dont show up and give no prior notification that they won't be attending. This is really dissapointing to people who buy tickets and travel long distances to see these guests. They should learn to be more truthful with their customers. read more

It wasn't what I was expecting- there were no panels, contests, seminars, workshops, etc. like most conventions offer. BUT it was still fun. I only went on day 3 which allowed me to grab a few items on closing day sale prices (two prints for the price of one, shirts marked down a couple dollars, etc.). But due to the lack of extras (such as panels) I can't say going all 3 days would have been worth it unless you really need 3 days in order to shop. There were several booths offering quite a variety. I went with friends who do not collect comic books- and there was still plenty for them to look at and purchase (books, artwork, jewelry, shirts, etc). Cosplayers were out in hoards and made for a fun time meeting and getting to know new people. I hope they make this a yearly event but I also hope that they do add in those few extras that make for a better convention and make it more than just 'a lot of shopping.' It could be a GREAT convention; it just isn't up to that status just yet... BUT for what it was- it was still a good time, with plenty to see. I'd go again. read more

Okay so I don't know what happened to ALVCC this year but I was sad at how small it was. So Amazing used to be held at the South Point and it used to actually be a pretty big con. It was a tad smaller than Wizard World but it was still filled with cosplay and geekery galore. It was filled to the brim with shops, artists, panels, contests, etc. It was basically a smaller version of WW. I was thoroughly excited when I found out it was moving to the Convention Center because of the bigger venue and I honestly figured it would be bigger. I was very wrong. So I used to do 3-day cons but switched to doing 1-days because it was more economically sound. Well usually I arrive at around 11am and stay until closing for all my conventions because I'm only doing the one day. With cons like WW staying the whole day isn't hard at all and sometimes i'm ready to go back the next day. With ALVCC I used to stay the whole day because when it was at the South Point it was surprisingly big. This year I arrived at around 11am and I was ready to leave around 2pm. At 2pm I had already done about 6 laps around the place and hadn't bought anything. The only reason I stayed was because of friends who showed up and wanted to hang out. I did end up buying some art from a few vendors and a few bandannas from Nigel Sade (who is awesome btw!!!!) but other than that I didn't buy near what I usually buy. I usually haul in a ton from comic con and counting the art I walked out with about 4 items. This year didn't really have any vendors specializing in cosplay. There was one corset shop and a couple of people selling anime swords but in regards to cosplay vendors that was about it this year. Most everybody else sold either t-shirts or comics (duh lol). Last year there were tons of cosplay vendors but I was surprised at how few there were this year. Despite my comments I had a great time and I really want ALVCC to come back next year. I just hope they expand it a bit more and make it bigger because this year was way to small. I did enjoy myself and got some great cosplay photos and I had a great time with my friends. I hope they come back next year but do it like it was before. Last year's ALVCC would've earned a 5 star review from me but this year's con was barely a 3. read more

Not bad for a first year event. It was a small, but fun convention. The prices for single day tickets seemed a bit high given the size of the event and what was with the $2 service fee? Plus they closed ticket sales early on Friday. That aside, the staff and volunteers seemed to be working hard and all fans in attendance got a chance to meet some big names in the comic book industry. I would rate this convention a little higher, but I cannot because of the experience my friend and others who purchases the VIP packaged had. They sold out of VIP packages. At the event, they did not have enough VIP bags so many were told to pick up their bags the next day. When they did finally receive their bags, many of the promised items were missing and some seemingly random items were put in as a replacement. Their website also said VIPs would get 8-10 items signed by Jim Lee. This was changed to 6 items and then again to 5 items just before the signing. My friend was also told a drawing for VIPs would be held at 5:30pm only to later learn that they held it in a hallway at 4pm. Not a huge deal, but I think an email or letter of apology to all who purchased VIP packages would have gone a long way rather than just telling people that the fine print said things could change at any time. Despite that, I would not hesitate to attend again if they do this again next year. Although, minus another star for scheduling a stand-up comedian they knew told off-color jokes to be the opening act for the costume contest; an event they had to know would draw a lot of kids. read more

For a first year con, I thought they pulled it off very well. Being located at the Southpoint made it much easier for me to get back to the house if I didn't want to pay convention prices for food and the location was nice due to the use of the giant convention halls. Some things I truly hated though were the $45 for a one day pass. That is more than Anime Expo, and they pull in 160,000 people. I might go again next year if the price is dropped and they get more booth with shirts and not ones with used legos. read more

PROS - The price a ticket/tickets was fantastic! Even for a one day price it was decent considering how many vendors were there. - Lots of amazing artwork! Some local, some out of state - all very talented! You even have newbies trying to get their work out there. - Great turn out of cosplays! - Stan Lee and Jim Lee along with many other great names showed up! - Awesome pricing for the vendor and artist alley space! CONS - YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR A PROGRAM GUIDE. IT IS NOT GIVEN TO YOU. - Walking space was extremely small between sections of the vendors. Many times my feet were stepped on, you are stuck because someone is doing a huge photo op in the aisles, people generally clogging the space in front of a booth because there is no standing shopping space, etc. - NO ORGANIZATION WHAT SO EVER. They need to put signs up around the convention area or at lease have directionals with a map! - Poor timing! This was planned at the same time as the anime convention at the Rivera. They need to plan around other conventions for a bigger crowd draw. Also some people wanted to go to both convention but they cant due to poor timing. - NO SEATING, NO MAKE UP STATION, VERY SMELLY. - Some people were selling other artist prints without permission! Lots of art theft! - Needs more vendors! I got through the whole convention floor in high traffic in under 2 hours. I was pretty happy overall with the convention and turn out. I wish it to see it next year under better planning and organization. Will return next year and hopefully be a vendor next time. Also maybe as a con discount those who show up in costume get a few bucks off their ticket if they purchase day of the convention or get free stickers or something. The more costumes the better! I was very surprised to see a 4 star review as my first search. The con was extremely unorganized, lines were scattered as were the artists. The only really good thing about this con was that Jim Lee and Stan Lee were present, asside from that the events, what few existed were so packed tightly in the scheduele you would miss the other 3 for the day... exaggerating of course. Really though it was pretty awful, more than half the people here didnt get what they were supposed to in their VIP bags, which was valued at over $100++, we actually ended up getting aprocimately $50 worth of random things that were almost uninteresting. They also were late for everything, from early entry for VIP to every single event.. for example on Sunday they offered free attendance prizes, but they also said that you had to sit through a event for over a hour and a half just watching cartoons, no artists talking or anything... the organizer, Jimmy s. Jay was a complete ass when questioned.. seemingly brushing people off because he was to busy running a failed con. And I had the time to write this during the con because right now I have been sitting in the redwood room for about 21 minutes past the time the interactive game show sketch off was supposed to start, and no one has come in or said anything, its just been about 16 people waiting for a event for the last 40 minutes.
