Right from the start, even the newest fencers suit up in full club-provided gear, which really helps them feel the excitement and focus of real fencing. It's amazing to see how quickly they get into the spirit of the sport. Coach Andre and Coach David are absolutely wonderful. They're not only skilled and passionate about fencing, but they're also genuinely kind and encouraging with the kids. It's clear they love what they do, and that energy is contagious. Since moving up to the intermediate class, I've been so impressed by how much thoughtful feedback my son receives. What stands out the most to me is how he's absorbing and responding to that feedback--it's a level of maturity and openness I've never seen in him before (especially not when it comes from me!). Watching his growth--both in skill and mindset--has been such a joy. We're now looking forward to local competitions together, and I couldn't be prouder to be part of this journey with him. If you're looking for a supportive, energetic, and skill-building environment for your child, I can't recommend this fencing club highly enough!

The facility is quite large with (if memory serves) over 10 full length strips, and you can use the uniforms there. There is more to fencing than meets the eye so it's advisable to go with someone experienced to properly understand everything from from your surroundings, to suiting up, to the equipment. My mentor was very patient, shared the knowledge well so it was a good first experience for me.

Some bball camps they have done have been very intense and some have been very casual -- this one was the perfect mix of bball skills as well as positive games on and off the court. They also really liked the staff and met a lot of other really nice kids. My kids have also done Growth league and Small Group Training with Bald Eagle and we will definitely continue signing up with them. My oldest is looking forward to doing their Leadership camp as well!

probably my favourite of the peninsula run groups. not only do they run, but they throw in track…read moreworkouts, hill workouts, and core work into their group runs. group meets every mon @ 6pm, rain or shine. currently, the group is led by 2 of lululemon's running ambassadors, whom i consider experts in the realm of running. the group runs anywhere from 3-8 miles, and routes vary by week. sometimes, we run through stanford's campus loop. other times, we run to the stanford track and do track/speed workouts. on occasion, we run up through the dish for a good hill workout. i like the variety in their routes b/c it's a nice change in scenery and workout type. on average, i'd say there are 20-30 runners in this group. the fastest runners are around a 6:00 min/mile pace, and the slowest runners around a 10:00 min/mile pace. most of the runners i talk to are currently training for a race (or have a race lined up later in the year), usually a half or full marathon, with some of the elite runners being ultra-marathoners. after the run, they provide water back at the store. most of the runners stretch together after, in front of the store. what i like best about this group is that i'm always challenged by the workout of the week. whether it's to run harder, faster, longer, or climb a steeper hill, i always go home feeling like i really worked out. i've found that my race times have steadily improved as i continue running with this group.

If I could give this run group a million stars I would. I ran with them weekly for about a year…read morebefore I moved up to the city. And I drive down to PA just to meet them whenever I can. You can find lots of groups around the peninsula that get together to run once a week. Having tried several others I think this is what sets this group apart: the difficulty+togetherness of the workouts, and the attitude/orientation of the members. You will find a tremendous group of people who really love running, are nice about it, want to improve, really challenge themselves and want to support other runners in challenging themselves. Over the course of running weekly with them, particularly tempo runs and track workouts, I improved my mile time nearly a minute per mile at the half marathon distance. If you want to challenge yourself to run harder than you would alone, this is a great way to do it. The best thing about this run club: Jessica, the longtime leader. She is a great athlete and has the warmest personality. She's a fan of tough workouts, and will often lead a super core set after runs. She's so nice about it, you'll laugh at how much it hurts. There might not be another thing in the bay area I'd more emphatically recommend.

Big Trees has been such a great way for us to get out and explore nature around the Bay Area. The…read moreclass is in a different location every week, which has introduced us to new places we didn't know existed around us. Teacher Dawn's curiosity is contagious, and she's always finding new ways to get children to observe and interact with the outdoors. She has a great way of teaching children about the outdoors without it ever feeling like she's teaching them- she lets their questions and ideas lead the discussion. We love discovering a new place every week, and we look forward to the next new Big Trees class every week!

This class not only inspired me to take walks and explore with my entire family on my own but it's made my son a little "fact" giver of nature. He does listen! It's an amazing experience to connect with your child and Teacher Dawn is the kindest person you'll ever meet. This is one of my most cherished memories with my child so far.

There are two structures, one much smaller than the other- both I would say are geared toward toddlers and young kids. There are also swings, and a sand box. The whole surface is padded which is also nice for the young ones. I loved the butterfly theme including butterfly pictures on the structures, caterpillar statues, and the whole padded surface being butterfly colored. Park is almost entirely gated/walled except for the two entrance areas. There are picnic tables. No bathrooms.

I…read morethink the GPS led us to the residential area parking and there's no parking there for the public so my boyfriend left me there and I thought he meant that I should just go there myself and there is NO signal here so I had no idea where he was at for over an hour and he was so close to calling the city to report a lost child lol. We went in the mid morning and it's a fairly bright, well lit path there that's not too far or difficult and there were lots of other hikers and travelers so at no point did I feel like something bad was going to happen. The farm is also true to its name because I did get to see a momma deer and her baby right at the entrance of the farm near the barn picnic table area. Neat! It's a great place to see animals too since aside from the deer and farm animals I saw a quail and its chicks, as well as lots of ground squirrels. The chicken are in a coop and pen but some hop out and walk around the farm. Love to see the pigs, sheep, goats, cow, bunnies, ducks and geese too. Would love to one day see the farm cats. There's lots of informative signs and flyers throughout the farm of all reading levels and how much information are on them, and there's small interactive parts too and you learn about the work that goes into working on a farm and what these animals provide for people. The docents and volunteers are also very helpful and are happy to answer questions. Lots of benches and seats in the shade too so you can sit back and take in the scenery and the animals hanging out. You can see the little gardens that they have there and I guess on some days some of the other buildings are open too. I don't mind coming back, but this time, I won't make that same entrance mistake again.

The walk is about 20-25 minutes but it's worth it! The farm is FREE of charge, & they have quite a few variety of animals & sights to see. They close at 4PM, so make sure you go fairly earlier. We got there around 2 on Saturday & still found parking to walk over there. They are also always looking for volunteers so if you know anybody, send em there!
