They have some unique offerings at this location. The food was excellent as always. I enjoy all the gluten free options they have.

Tried Aroma Experience recently, and while the ambience was quite nice and we were warmly welcomed by the staff which raised our hopes, the food unfortunately didn't live up to it. The Bhatti Chicken appetizer was decent, but things went downhill from there. We ordered the Matki Handi as the main course, and it was extremely disappointing, it tasted like raw tomatoes and onions tossed together with no depth or balance in flavor. To make matters worse, the portion was shockingly small, just a spoonful of curry spread thinly in the dish. For the price and presentation, we expected much better quality and quantity. Definitely not worth a second visit unless major improvements are made.

Unaccustomed to dining on Indian cuisine, this was my first time at Aroma but second time at this type of ethnic food experience. I delighted in the rich Delhi butter chicken and was pleased to know I could choose my spice level. The ambiance was a simple elegance, not overly decorated to deduct from the upscale feel. From the dining dishes to the lighting to the comfortable seats, the attention to detail worked beautifully. I also appreciated that the restaurant was not overwhelmed with bar space and not cluttered with liquor bottles; this could've attracted a loud party crowd, which takes away from the elegance. Adjacent to the Veterans Way garage, parking is complimentary and walking is reasonable even while wearing heeled boots. I had noticed another reviewer mentioned the slow service, and it was. The restaurant wasn't busy on this Saturday evening (November 9, 2024), yet I only saw one server the entire time. He laid eyes on our table twice. The second time, he was making his way to our table, paused and stared, and then turned back around. Eventually, I had mentioned to the host about our long wait without being given something to drink. I hope Aroma Experience will swiftly address the need for more prompt, attentive service.

This Indian food place is different from all other Indian food places in and around Indy area. Good ambience, great service and chefs knew what were they doing! The tandoori chicken was moist. The rule of thumb, if you can enjoy tandoori chicken without any sauce and still enjoying it, it's authentic. It had perfect smoky taste. The Delhi butter chicken was a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. One of the best I have tasted around this area. The presentation of the dishes tells you that professional training is involved. Will try more dishes here first sure!

Our favorite place in Indy for Indian food is Aroma! The rosemary garlic naan bread is delicious and the Tikka Masala Chicken is full of flavor. I love going to this spot due to the amount of meat and vegetarian options that they have. The location is great too since it is in the Carmel city center and parking is complimentary. If you are looking for cocktails they do have some on the menu, but I would say their food is really where it is at quality wise!

Aroma Experience moved into Carmel City Center earlier this year. Because this location is off the beaten path, you may not have noticed it or known it existed. The owner has a location in Broadripple and near Fountain Square as well. Additionally, there is a place called the Aroma Room on Rangeline Road which may bring about some confusion - they are completely different types of services. Aroma Experience is owned by an Indian family, all of the professional chefs are Indian, the food is authentic and fantastic. There are many gluten free options as well. One of our best friends is from Goa, India and we were there with him last night and he concedes that this is of the absolute best places in the Indy area to find authentic Indian food. Service was great and we were warmly welcomed and assisted the entire time we were there; all of our needs and orders were provided timely. Check it out soon! https://aromaindy.com/carmel-carmel-city-center/

My husband and I have only been to Aroma once but we enjoyed it a lot. The food was very good as was the service and I'm sure we'll go back.

Great quality food, decent portions as well. The inside is also very clean and has a nice ambience. Maybe a bit on the pricier side.

But I gather that Desi District cares not for all that mess: everyone is welcome. This is a neat spot to grab a hot lunch or stock up on food of the Indian persuasion, like the frozen packages of naan I scored. Initially, I stopped in because I needed a tomato. They have lots of tomatoes here, plus other fresh produce, like potatoes, garlic, ginger, peanuts in the shell, and other things. They also have aisles of packaged food, such as cookies, tea, gelatin (?!? Yeah, they have lots of gelatin here), noodles, spices, seeds, curry, snacks, and lots of other things. Along with the frozen naan, I also got some ice cream treats for my kids. I picked the most obscure flavors (obscure for our American gringo palates), and we ended up loving all of the Indian ice cream flavors we tasted. There's a food court here with lots of seating. I didn't eat any of the hot food this time, but I saw some samosas that looked dang delicious, so I'll have to be back to try them. The people who work here are exceedingly friendly and kind. The person ringing up my purchases called me madam, which was adorable, because who even says madam anymore?

There is a bunch of seating with large tables that accommodate groups and smaller tables. The dining area is bright and airy with interesting graffiti on the walls. You order and pay in the back and wait for your food to come out. The menu offers a bunch of traditional Indian options such as curries, tandoor, mandi and much more. There is a chai station, bakery and ice cream stand as well. There's so much to choose from. We ordered the lunch special Veg Thali, which is a plate containing a mix of little dishes, so you can taste everything. For some reason they were out of rice, which was the main ingredient on the plate so they gave us the option of additional naan, which was fine. We liked all the dishes on the Thali. I especially enjoyed the Paneer dish. The curries were warm and delicious. There was a very spicy hot spread that we loved. I'd get Thali again. We also ordered some garlic naan. The naan seemed to be frozen as the bread was hot on the outside but cold on the inside. We were disappointed by the garlic naan. But the regular naan that came with our Thali was good. We also ordered samosas which were flavorful and filling. An order comes with some 3 Samosas and a sweet dipping sauce. Very good. They must be a little short staffed. Food came out over the course of 10-30 minutes. We purchased a few things from the grocery store prices are a bit steep, but food looks fresh. Parking is adequate in the private lot. Restrooms are available. I'd come back. I love Indian food.
