We absolutely love AmberDonia! I am from the area but live out of state now. I make it my mission to go there whenever I am in town. The pizza choices are amazing (balsamic fig anyone? Romeo and Juliet? Margarita?). My 13 year old is picky about everything and doesn't like chunks of tomatoes, so the first time I took her, I figured she'd be a pill. I ordered the Margarita and she loved it!! When the whole family is in town, we gather at AmberDonia and probably order enough pizzas for each person to have 1 1/2 pies for themselves. The pizza is so light and delicious. You can choose from their many varieties or build your own. The baked goods are out of this world as well! This place opened just 2 weeks ago, so I thought I'd give it a try. Their espresso drinks were very good, but unfortunately the filter coffee was pretty weak. We enjoyed the pizza (thin crust Neapolitan) and I loved that they offer different creative spice blends at each table (like Herbes de Provence or smoked paprika and chives) so you can play around with the flavors. Great idea! The waitstaff seemed pretty inexperienced, but since it's a new place, I figure it will take them some time to get their efficiency and "flow" down. I thought it a little odd that the cupcakes were served on a wooden plate, but the pizza dishes to use were paper plates. I also would have expected to have forks and knives served with the pizza. (Yep, I'm one of "those" people who eat thin Italian pizza with utensils.) I think this place has the potential for becoming very popular and doing well in this area, especially if they add salads to their menu. (They have all the ingredients already, they just need to get the lettuce.) I plan on making a return visit in the future and I wish them lots of luck. read more

Amazing place I went in here day before Christmas me and my boyfriend were stressed trying to get everything done and this place cheered us up. Beautifully owned family place and I honesty haven't had pizza in the US like this place it was sooo good. Freshly made ingredients and the dough is high quality. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was gone in minutes. The owner made for us an amazing coffee that he called Arabian nights because after you drink it you won't be sleeping. Very charming awesome surprise ! The decor is Italy. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. I had a salad large enough to share. The taste of the thin crust pizza was something that I never experienced. A Bonus is a lazy Susan of shaker spices for you to try. There are dozens of amazing pastries to see and eat. The pastries I tried are as follows: German chocolate brownie, dark chocolate almond cupcake, lemon lush cupcake and two little mini cakes also lemon lush and another chocolate one. All fair. Hands down the best cupcakes in the area. Being that I use to be a cake decorator I am very picky about icing. The presentation and overall flavor had won my heart. We went there primarily for takeout pizza last night, fifteen minutes before closing. Eeek! But they were awesome, friendly and informative about their business. I was craving a cannoli and this place was recommended. It was rather dark inside for the middle of the day but I loved the interior of the place. Browsing the selection of pastries and cakes was quite tempting. I ordered my cannoli which was made fresh at the time. Paying for my purchase at the register I commented on the excellent price but this was before I saw the product! When I saw what I had purchased my heart sank! I've never had a cannoli so small! Just a bit longer than my pinky finger. The shell was fresh and the cream inside was delicious but it was literally one bite! Always trust the opinions of strangers in a bar. Okay, perhaps that is poor advice, however a recent recommendation had yielded positive results. I overheard a conversation about a bakery on Union St. in Kingston that served wood fired pizza with fresh ingredients. Intrigued, I inquired further about the exact location and their personal opinions. Everything said was positive, within a week or so, I was there. Upon walking in, the quaintness was immediately apparent. I was promptly seated and placed my order within 10 minutes of entering. I didn't feel rushed, I just knew what I wanted. I ordered the Margherita style pizza and an herbal tea. Both were promptly brought to the table. The "herbal tea" was nothing more than a bottle of Arizona Stress tea. This was a bit disappointing, however it was eclipsed by the deliciousness of the pizza. The crust was crispy, though not burnt or over-charred. The cheese was perfectly melted and in splendid concert with the slightly sweet sauce. The freshness of each ingredient was obvious. Capped it off with a cannoli and a not too hefty check. I was so excited all week to get this pizza. When my boyfriend brought home 2 pizzas yesterday, mine was cold. We don't live far from the location and it wasn't cool it was cold. The pizza boxes are really big and the pizzas not big so it seems like a waste also. The flavor of the pizza was good I got the Aidas Delight which I had to reheat in my oven to get the full effect of.
