I was in PA visiting family and craving a slice or two of good NEPA pizza. This place was very close to my hotel, so I decided to stop in and try it. I ordered a slice of cheese and a white slice with broccoli. Both were of decent size, and were warmed in the oven before serving. The cheese slice was absolutely delicious, man I missed pizza like this, I cannot get it where I live now. It was hot, greasy as a good cheese slice should be, but not overly so, the crust was thin but crisp, with excellent texture and chew. The white slice wasn't as good, but still delicious and quite hearty. It had cooled a bit so that was a factor, had it been as hot as the cheese slice, I'm sure it would have been truly excellent. Service was friendly and efficient, I highly recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

The end of the week is at hand, it's Friday, it's my cheat day, the one day I treat myself to a pizza. Today I am at a place I have never, ever been to, and that place is Nello's Pizza. Speaking with I believe he may have been one of the owners, not sure, they have been in business since 2004, so I am not sure how I never heard of this place. Now walking in the first thing I noticed was even though they were steady and serving customers this place was spot clean, the workers were very friendly, and you felt welcomed into this pizzeria. Now I walked up to the counter where I ordered their cheese steak pizza, i didn't realize until it came out was it's a double crust, I don't believe I ever had double crust pizza before. This pizza was packed full of meat, cheese, along with peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Ladies and gentlemen this was very, very delicious, and very filling. Needless to say, I did not eat it all, I brought the remaining home and gave it to my neighbor. If you never tried Nello's before I definitely recommend. Besides being delicious, they helped us cancel our Slice order that went to their other location. I got the thick square pizza. It was not ridiculous doughy like most, and it was crispy on the bottom, not often found. I'm so happy to find an excellent pizza within 30 minutes of our home! The first thing I noticed upon walking in is that they take COVID very seriously. They are very clean, immediately disinfect tables between customers, have a barrier on top of the pizza case and have very little contact with you. Drinks are bottles and cans only and after paying, you help yourself to either. Pizza slices are HUGE and prices are extremely reasonable. I paid a little over $7 for two big slices (one with 2 toppings) and a can of soda. They do offer dine in and tables are socially distanced. Pizza is very good--thin crust, mozzarella, sauce isn't too sweet. Looking forward to trying some other menu items! read more

I've eaten pizza from all over the country. Nobody compares to Nello's. I've been eating it for years and it's consistently great. Their buffalo chicken pizza is far and away the best in the area. The Original plain pie is still my favorite and I'd put it up against any other place. I know the owner and his family and they are great people who care about what they do. Every time I've been there I've been greeted and treated like the most important person in the place by everyone working. If you've got time for 1 slice when visiting Wilkes Barre. First time trying their pizza. This is great stuff. Staying across the street at the Hampton inn, I found them when I searched for pizza. They had good reviews, and close enough to go get it quickly to bring back to the hotel (no delivery). I ordered a Sicilian with pepperoni. I usually would go for a standard thin crust, but sometimes I've got to get the thick crust This pizza was perfection!! Thick doughy crust. Not gummy at all, but with just the right amount of softness and crunch to it. Exactly as it should be. Killer sauce, and the right amount of cheese and pepperoni. I was in the mood for some pizza, and this went way above my expectations. I was in pizza heaven. If I lived locally, I'd be a regular customer. Needing something quick to eat while I got a bunch of work done in the hotel room, I ordered the "special" from Nello's. It's in the Wal-Mart plaza, so I didn't exactly have a high expectation but I was "disappointed" because the pizza was very well topped and it was quite tasty. NEPA pizza isn't usually round and it tends to be a bit doughy. Nello's had the slight doughy-ness to it, but as a round pie and cut into six slices (not a "tray" of "cuts") it's more New York style. Good toppings and it wasn't greasy despite the pepperoni. Even the medium is more than enough for two. It's good pie. Well done, Nello's. read more

Best Sicilian pizza I've ever had, so airy and crunchy. High quality cheese and a delicious garlic tomato sauce. The garlic knots were also perfect and delicious. Nellos clearly takes great care in proofing their dough before turning it into food, everything is well cooked and full of wondefurful air bubbles that give it all a nice light crunchy taste. Stopped in while staying at the Hilton across the plaza. Got a large Sicilian pizza with pepperoni, since I'm a large person. Let me tell you I was wholly unprepared for the square yard of thick crust I received. Crust is perfect, and I'm not usually a crust-guy. Solid cheese and pepperoni coverage, and the cheese was some good quality cheese to boot! I went to a close by burger place twice before trying here, and I'm upset I didn't go here from the start! What's more, I ate 3 pieces out of 12. I'm 5'9", and 275lbs. I can eat (and regret) my way through a large pizza. I'm positively thrilled to have 3 meals for only $20! Found this gem when we got sidelined by car trouble. We ordered calzone and steak & cheese stromboli. Huge portions! If we had known, we probably would have ordered one of the two. But we wouldn't have had a chance to try very good yumminess. Nice flavor in the dough used and the stuffing was tasty and cheesy. If you like being called 'hon', 'sweetie' this is the place for you. The pizza is good, but the hand written sign on the door warning customers not to use cell phones near the counter is very unprofessional. After placing an order, we were instructed to sit anywhere. My friend pulled out a vapor pipe, and within seconds the owner was at our table requesting the vapor pipe be put away.
