After getting several quotes for a deck replacement/upgrade I decided to go with NexGen because…read moretheir numbers were right and I found Akeem Jones (who came out to give me the initial estimate) to be congenial, articulate, knowledgeable, and just way more competent than the others that came on-site for quotes. I was bummed when, after I signed the contract, Akeem disappeared and I was put in touch with a few more people, whose roles weren't quite defined for me. There was Greg and Jesse and Brieon and Steve and Andrew, and it wasn't clear to me for a little while whose job it was to do what. There were a few times when I sent questions via email that were never answered directly and it was aggravating that I didn't know who specifically should be answering those questions. At any rate, I ended up working mostly with Steve when it came time to actually get the project rolling. I could sit here and lament about the things that annoyed me: a surprise jump in my estimate after signing the contract, the inconvenient dumpster delivery, the lack of forethought on where the construction materials would go, the fact that the workers trampled through my garden and left cigarette butts and screws everywhere on day 1 and some places on day 2, after clean-up was complete. Doing that would take up too much space and I truly believe that all of us know that doing any sort of construction is likely going to be a big, messy, pain in the ass. It's sort of the cost you pay, isn't it? The bottom line is I signed my contract with NexGen on 3.24 and the project was complete on 6.3. While there were hiccups along the way I now have a completed deck that looks much nicer than the one that was there before. Would I use NexGen in the future? Maybe. The price would have to be right and I would go into it expecting a bumpier ride than I had hoped when I initially signed this contract, though.

Took 3 months to finally make repairs and they did complete them. It shouldn't have taken so much…read morework on my part to get the repairs completed.

We feel very fortunate to have found and been able to work with dRemodeling to renovate our kitchen…read moreand 2 bathrooms. Throughout the process we have been struck by the craftsmanship, attention to detail, excellent level of communication and clear desire to make us happy ("we just want to see you smile") that we have experienced. All of the other 5 star reviews have aptly captured the experience that we did, so I will not go into as great detail as I normally would. The design process was easy - our designer asked pertinent questions that helped us hone our visions and thoughts into reality. We felt seen and heard, in terms of defining our wants, needs, finances, etc. Demolition was extremely fast, and the teams made sure to keep the house as clean as possible throughout the entire process. Each person who worked on our house demonstrated a dedication to quality, and whenever an issue arose, it was rapidly addressed and remedied. The workmanship is noteworthy. When it came down to the final punch list, and fixing the minor details (I tend to be fastidious and overly observant about the detail work), there was no issue, and the work was beautifully completed. The billing and payment process is comprehensive, very clearcut and very easy to understand and follow from the outset, which also made the experience seamless. I would like to mention that dRemodeling has a cleaning team that they have clean the areas that have not only been worked on but also impacted by the construction. We found that they are now offering the cleaning team as a separate service, called dReal Deal Clean. It was a no-brainer to sign up for future ongoing cleaning services, knowing that they have the same ownership, and high standards. We will unhesitatingly hire dRemodeling for any future remodeling needs.

I had my kitchen and bathroom remodeled last year. It turned out ok, definitely some things that…read morewere not sloppy at the end when they were just trying to finish. Floors are now uneven, seems are not finished, tile is sloppily placed in the bathroom. The timeline was not as promised, took an extra 2 months; which doesn't seem like that much but I live in a 1000sq condo--It was not a massive remodel. The project was delayed because they got the wrong permits which took and extra 3-4 weeks. I liked the designer I worked with (Emma I think). The manager for my project was absolutely awful at communicating and never reached out to let me know how the project was going and why there were delays-- except in two EMAILS. They would leave the basement door open and the back door unlocked. When we had the final checklist, my "manager" came in with about 10 things he thought they still needed to do, mine had over 40, including things like the trim that was not done. I really wanted to like this company since the designer was so great, but the construction part of the company I would not recommend.
