This place used to be amazing. I grew up nearby and this was our go to. The last few times we've ordered have been really disappointing. Today we got a few pies. They had absolutely no flavor at all. They were fresh and piping hot but it didn't taste like anything. We also got a Francese pie and wound up playing "find the lemon" bc it was just wet chicken on mushy dough. Terrible time management. You'll wait 45-50 mins for a pie. I order online. Show up 10 mins after the time they say it will be ready and still end up waiting an additional 15 mins when I get there. First they lied about delivery time. I ordered a large pie at 1:18. I had friends coming over at 2pm. They said 40 mins. At 2:10 50 mins I called back and they said my pizza just went out. At 2:38, now an hour and 20 mins. The stopped answering their phone. Now my friends are starving and no pizza. Finally the pizza arrived at most 2:45. The food is not the problem! My issue is the staff. I placed an order for pick up. My soup came with a wedge of Italian bread. It wasn't wrapped. The young girl taking orders brought to the front, her hands on my bread and then the guy behind the counter touched it again. The original girl that touched it was touching her mouth, texting on her phone, and scratched her head. This is my go to pizza place. Straight up good tasting pie with the right amount of ingredients and flavor. I always get a plain pie and add a lot garlic and some oregano and then it's perfect for me. But if you want to get a pie with extra toppings go for the peppers and onions. Yum. The 4 star rating is only because of its inconsistency in who cooks it. But really it is what you want when you order a pizza, good crust, tasty sauce and right amount of cheese. I really like their chicken and eggplant rolls too. I always ask for more sauce because you can never have enough sauce with Italian food. We also order from them to cater our parties with baked ziti and a tray of meatballs etc. So no complaints here. It is more of just a take out place but there are some tables to eat in. I ordered pizza for my family, I had a coupon so I used it. I ordered our food. When the delivery guy came he insisted we give him the coupon from the menu. When I order from any other place NO ONE NEVER ASKS ME FOR A COUPON!!! The delivery driver said the boss asks for it!!! REALLY!!!!!! That's what ur worried about! How about making good food which is nothing to rave about! how about getting here on time so the pizza is not ice cold! Decided to try Ambrosino's after driving by and wasn't disappointed. I was the first one in which was awesome because everything was coming out of the oven. I went and had the chicken marsala slice with mushrooms and a spinach with artichoke slice. The Marsala slice was a knockout of a slice that was loaded with mushroom and Marsala flavor. The spinach slice was amazing with fried garlic and globs cheese. Most of their slices are pan style but don't let that distract you from the fact that they taste great. For an unassuming pizzeria which there are 1000 of on Staten Island, Ambrosino's specialty slices are pretty damn good and worth their price. $7 for two specialty slices these days is a bargain. Nope. No way you can make pizza like that in New York and survive. They were cheap on the dough, the sauce and the cheese. Way too thin. On top of that delivery it was over 40 minutes. We gave this pizzeria a shot, and it failed. You can't be that cheap with your customers. read more

I've been ordering from this restaurant for years. Lately we've been disappointed with the phone service. A few weeks ago I tried to place an order over the phone and was hung up on twice. I got through on the third attempt. When I asked what was up with the phones he just blew me off without an apology and asked what I needed. Last night we attempted twice to place an order on the phone and no one picked up. After the third attempt we were placed on hold for about 10 minutes. We hung up and called Casa Verde. This has to be by far the worst service and pizza I have had. I placed my order around 245,250 was given my total and told 40 minutes For a pepperoni Sicilian, and 2 plain pies. At 410 I called to see where the delivery is and was told they had no ticket for me and the girl who would have taken the order had left at 4, but they had no such order so they can put in a new ticket for another 40 minute wait and they couldn't do anything for me. ohkay, I guess I'll just have to wait, even though I explained I had company who was trying to eat before leaving and this is now gunna be about a 2 hour wait for some pizza. All I was offered was an "I'm sorry" and "we're telling the boss" although I heard another girl in the background saying "she's stupid, what she does is..." before being muted.... so. My food arrives a little after 5. So It's a 2.5 hour wait. And the pizza was COLD, like not warm. The pies were cold to the point the cheese was stiff and it tasted like an old pie thrown back in the oven (u know when the cheese is like over cooked and dry) one pie had 2 slices folded in half that ruined 3 slices. Food is delicious but the service is unbelievably horrible. I can honestly say 50% of the time, my order is wrong. I order through the slice app, it's pretty impossible to mess up the order as It right in front of your face. They've sent me a grilled chicken Caesar salad wrap and I ask for extra dressing on the side. So they charge me $10 for lettuce in a wrap with absolutely no dressing on it and don't even get dressing on the side. Half of the time when I order my wrap, they send me a plain salad. They have sent me the wrong pizza, and one time they sent me the completely wrong item and refused to switch it out because they were getting ready to close. The best part is, they ask for the wrong item back, which makes you think that it's basically just going to someone else which is disgusting. Won't be ordering from here anymore which is a shame because the food is delicious. read more

I ordered a chicken cutlet parm entree with spaghetti. Food wasn't even saucy it was mainly water. My pasta also tasted like it was coated with flour. Best I can't describe it as gritty. For $18 they need to really serve people a decent marinara sauce and some fresh pasta. pasta costs them prob less than 80cents a pound! Delivery also took over an hour and I live just about a 4 min drive away. 0.8 miles to be exact! I ordered a chicken parm entree potato croquette and a slice. All things that are already pre cooked and can be made to order in less than 20 mins! Order costs $25 total! What a waist of $30!! Didn't even eat the meal. I placed an order for a pizza cooked light and thin crust. I received a pie cooked dark and not thin crust. Pie was ok but not good enough to reorder from them. Their pizza is really good. I find the pizzerias in the neighborhood to be lacking, and came across this one while trying to pick a new regular place. Their spinach artichoke slice is amazing, I highly recommend it. Their garlic knots are also great - not dry, and really packed with fresh garlic.
