Man cave, but what if the floor was also a television? It feels like every idea anyone had during construction made it into the final draft. (I'm not sure if there is a log cabin room but there probably is) 15 minutes into the movie, a waiter comes in to take orders. Not during the previews for some reason (remember, you can't order for yourself at the bar before the movie). The waiter is talking as if we're having a conversation at a bar, and for some reason, he's printing paper receipts and tearing them at a decibel so extreme an erupting volcano would've given him a side-eye. Oh, the movie has subtitles? Yeah, he's also standing in front of you. I can literally hear every part of every conversation he's having with the other patrons. "DO YOU WANT POPCORN AS WELL?!" Overall the experience feels like a psychological experiment. I'm convinced that somewhere in Studio One a lab coat-clad scientist is asking: 'What if every single aspect of this experience was bizarre and awkward?' Or maybe a prank show. Normally I scan my movie pass, tell them seat me in the ADA row. Usually it is empty so I just say put me in the middle but due to the wheelchair on the seat, I can never read the numbers which I say. I was supposed to be at an event across town. It was impossible to find a safe place to park and there was no ADA parking. Due to safety, I had to give up. I figured I would just go to see The Drama instead. I was not prepared... There are a few seats taken, including the two middle seats in ADA. I looked and said to give me on of the ADA seats over to the side. She stood there staring at me before saying that those seats are reserved for companions for people who are in a wheelchair. I said those are for people who have a disability and are not able to walk up or down stairs to get to the other seats. I genuinely picked up my cane and showed it to her saying I'm not sure how much more disabled you would like me to be to get a disabled seat. She had to call over her manager, thankfully not at my request. The manager without saying a word punched in my ticket and got my popcorn looking at the other person with shock. I have known numerous people going through things like organ failure, recently received a transplant... cancer treatments... there are so many things that can be severely wrong with a person where they are challenged physically and need ADA seating or accommodations. So, I don't assume BUT I just had to put up a fight to get accommodations yet I was SHOOK seeing the very able bodied, looking couple sitting in the center of the ADA section. I was so tempted to ask if anyone gave them any crap getting those seats. I did not though because it's hardly their fault I had to go through that. I also didn't wanna disrupt them because they were super cute snuggled up together. I always assume people sitting ADA requested it for reasons - I'm not the ADA police and there were plenty of spaces.

I did show up, purchased a ticket on the way in for ADA - the whole row was marked empty... when I walked in, imagine my surprise that it was full of people who were supposed to be seated elsewhere. Being honest, people are so crazy these days - I am already exhausted so I just crawled up the stairs to the seats empty above. My food gets delivered and the guy was confused trying to deliver it to the guy manspread over three seats of ADA with his girlfriend and his coat and all his stuff thrown over chairs. I waved saying I had to move because they were in my seat. Suddenly manspread guy - it was exhausting seriously. He kept getting up and sitting back down and getting up and sitting back down while apologizing and saying I'll move all my things... at this point I'm already seated dude. I really just want to eat my flatbread pizza in peace and watch the previews. I genuinely had to ask him to please stop and sit down. So, hay - usually, us disabled people are already tired and broken and in pain - I really don't have it in me to deal with you. I get an ADA spot because walking up even one stair is painful but asking you to move and standing around while you do so - it's easier just pole vaulting up the stair. Being able bodied is temporary and I encourage you to please just be mindful of how your actions affect other people.

It truly feels like a one-man show, and that personal touch makes the experience so special. Plus, the prices for both tickets and snacks are refreshingly affordable compared to the big chains. The theater itself has one large screening room, and it's impressive -- spacious, comfy seats, great surround sound, and a large screen that makes for a perfect movie experience. They don't drown you in endless previews, just a couple quick ones before the feature starts. I also appreciate some of the fun movie history and facts they presented prior to the screening. Great little concession stand where you can find typical theater offerings (popcorn, soda, candy) and a nice selection of draft beer and wines also.
