I really enjoy the seats at AMC and this is my go to theatre. At times, the ushers do a poor job of cleaning the seats as I have found popcorn or other items left behind from the previous movie goers. That aside, buying tickets, finding seats, and getting concessions is a seamless process. I will say I visit the regal in the Galleria mall and they have the comfortable seats as well. So, it's matter of convenience for me in terms of which theatre I choose. read more

I love this AMC location as it's not too far from where I live and offers everything that I need. It does get pretty crowded over the weekend which is to be expected. I have their a-list membership so I come here pretty often (at least once a week). You get to watch up to 3 movies a week for $23.95 a month which is a great deal! Also, you can reserve your ticket on the app free of charge. One thing I don't like is their app. It's not really user-friendly and glitches/crashes all the time. Once I had an issue on the app and the employees had no idea what to do. They just told me to call the customer service number (which I already did). I eventually figured it out but would've liked some help other than be told to call the number! read more

I first experienced what I choose to affectionately refer to as "lounge theater experiences" in Los Angeles, CA. The concept of picking your seat, relaxing in a lounge chair, and being allowed to order real food to take in with you was a brand new experience for me at one point. Buffalo hasn't yet embraced this entire concept, but the lounge-chair upgrades are a nice addition to this theater. The theater itself has a very large off-street private parking lot. It is located in walking distance from UB's North Campus. Tickets can be purchased online or onsite. They accept both cash and credit cards. The staff I've interacted with has always been helpful and friendly. Bathrooms are clean and easily accessible. The chair upgrades are pretty relaxing and wide enough to comfortably nap in. read more

I went on a Wednesday night with my girlfriend to see the new Fantastic beasts movie. The snack and beverage lines moved quickly and the staff was friendly. We were in auditorium 1 for the movie and it was a pretty full showing. The chairs are picked before the movie starts so there is no confusion on seating. The chairs themselves look a little dated with the red colors, but they recline with a button and are fairly comfortable. My only mark on the place was that the auditorium was freezing. The lady next to us brought a blanket, and we had to bundle our coats on top of us so we weren't shivering the whole movie. Overall, this is my go-to movie theatre in Tonawanda and will continue to be! read more

If you have the movie plan where you pay the monthly fee you need to go see a movie the night it comes out because there is a strong chance it will not be in there a few days later. I have missed out on a lot of movie because of this and it sucks. You can still get your monies worth but it just sucks and I think that is an AMC policy and not something the individual location does. Regal at least gives movie 2 week in the theater. Examples are Brightburn and Detective Pikachu both movies were in the theater for maybe 4 days. read more

In terms of comfort, this is definitely the best Theater in WNY. It's also one of the only Theaters that has reservations for seating, so when you purchase a ticket, you actually purchase an actual seat. I imagine because of the increase in space and fewer chairs that the Theater fits, the shows tend to sell out a bit more. There's been a few occasions where my wife and I went to see a movie here only to leave with a sadface because it was sold out. Get those tickets ahead of time! So why is this the most comfort Theater in WNY? Those amazing seats that you can recline to your heart's content. I actually heard someone snoring next to us because they fell asleep. Surprisingly not that hard to do. The seats are incredible; the staff is fine -- the movies are standard. If you haven't discovered the seats here, check 'em out. This is definitely one of my favorite movie theatres around. They were one of the first to adopt the recliner theatre concept and man am I glad they did that. I love going to the movies here and being able to recline, relax, and just be comfortable. The entire establishment is always extremely clean and organized which is always a plus. Their popcorn is really tasty and they let you put your own butter and salt on so you can get it to your liking. They also have those fun customizable big pop machines where you can choose all the different flavors, which also in turn you are able to get free refills. My boyfriend and I recently subscribed to the new AMC Stubs A-List thing which allows you to go see up to three movies a week, so a possible 12 movies a month give or take, and it's just $20 a month. I think this is a steal considering a movie ticket around here goes for close to $15 now. You can reserve your seats online the same day or days in advance, and you can even go see movies that are in 3D or iMax with no up-charge. Love it! read more

I hadn't been here for a few years since Covid but went this month. My friends and I were greeted by a very rude ticket scanner... so rude we almost left right then. The employees behind the snack bar also seemed very unpleasant. Not sure if they're treating their employees well or what but they were not happy. They only had paper straws which I can respect in some manner but should have different ones for the slushees. Dirty bathrooms. And some of the chairs didn't work for my friends. This is my favorite theater, works best to be an AMC Stubs member and order tickets on the app -- SUPER convenient but you need to plan ahead because the theaters are smaller with the new recliner seating and shows sell out. I learned this the hard way standing at the ticket counter with a crying 8 year old clutching her story book for the movie we were trying to see.... not a place anyone wants to be, trust me. Since then I have learned to avidly use the app, it is really easy and as a stubs member there's a lot of rewards and benefits. I will also say, the serving sizes of popcorn are a WAY better value for your money then the Regal, the butter is self serve and the soft drink machine has a ton of choices. My only issue, the concession area gets messy - the self service is awesome but people are messy and there's often spilled pop (yes I said 'pop'), butter, and napkins askew... so stay on top of that AMC and you'll get 5 stars from me!! Lastly... don't bring your blankets with you... and for goodness sake do not wear pajamas people -- it's not your living room... and it's gross. read more

I recently attended a 3D movie at this amc location and loved everything. The seats are so comfortable and I enjoyed the reclining chairs giving me that at home feel with the theater sound and visuals. The 3D glasses were good quality and I had no issues with the 3D quality. The venue in general seems well maintained and is a nice area. read more

I've attended AMC twice now, and coming from a guy whose go to was Regal, I enjoy the fact that I have a second go to that I can go in and enjoy when a movie I want to see comes out. My favorite movie theater in Buffalo! The seats are extremely comfortable recliners. I feel like I'm lounging on my couch at home watching a movie. Speakers are the perfect volume and the screen is clear. The theater is also always very clean. Prices are reasonable and they offer a good variety of movie times. I have an AMC stubs card (when they only charge $8 per year for a membership) and almost every time I end up watching a movie here versus at other theaters or other locations. The reclining seats are awesome and there's always a lot of parking spots at this plaza. Only 4 stars for this location because I feel like the seats are not always the cleanest. My best friend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon. Omg! I loved it!! I normally avoid movie theaters because I have a bad back and sitting in those uncomfortable seats for too long- I just can't enjoy myself. But here- comfort is covered! I don't have a problem with the atmosphere or the recliners or the ambiance. I love the pop machines however... everytime I go there the employees are on their phone two nights ago one had an earbud in her ear listening to music and her phone right on the concession counter. That's unprofessional. They also never have a manager or supervisor on the floor. Last time I went also two employees got in a snide remark war with eachother which made me uncomfortable while I was paying for my concessions. They also always grab from the bottom for popcorn which is mostly crumbs and they NEVER have pretzel bites which is ridiculous in itself it's a movie theater. This place has honestly gone down hill with their hiring and stock in the past 10 years. I'm sorry but if you have your phones out texting you should get written up especially if customers are at the counter waiting to be waited on. I do not frequent movie theaters. I remember going years ago and the floors being sticky, gum on back of seats. Not anymore. This theatre was very well taken care of. From the front entrance to the food service counter, carpets, bathrooms, all clean. Walking in felt as if the kids working there had pride in their jobs. The reclining chairs were incredibly comfortable. Almost too comfortable to when the movie ended you felt as if you could just roll over and go to sleep. One of my frequented movie theaters. AMC is on the same tier with the Regal in terms of prices, cleanliness, and snacks. Parking at this location is good-- big parking lot and typically less crowded. Also next to a decent Mexican restaurant and Tea Leaf. The reason I would choose this place over others is it has the recliners and you can flip up the divider and snuggle with the person next to you. I wouldn't recommend that if your neighbor is a stranger though. Also, my girlfriend is a stubs member and I like that we can beat the regular line. read more

This is a nicely laid out theater near UB for the students who want a break from Netflix and video games. Maybe even studying. The facility is pretty new and looks that way. There is no wasted space, after you walk in the popcorn counter is right there. I must say the recliners are so comfortable. I suggest going to the theater box office and getting your tickets in person to avoid the ~$6 convenience charge when booking seats online. (I know because I'm a broke af student lol.) But go early, it gets packed after work hours, even the back lot is completely full. Didnt try any of the food or drinks. I like the reclining seats but they are in the smaller side compared to other theaters like this. But if you are wit your boo then its fine, arm rest goes up and cuddling can commence.. but make sure you get the paired seats. I don't frequent movie theatres. The cost has become crazy. Taking my family of 4 to a flick can easily run $100, but, if I am going to dish out that type of money, this is my theatre of choice for three reasons: 1-Assigned seating. When I order my tickets, I know exactly where I will be sitting and can plan accordingly. 2-Reclining seats. The theatre underwent a massive overhaul renovation several years ago and features comfortable reclining seats that are a vast improvement over the high school auditorium seating you typically experience. 3-Plenty of room. Even with the new larger seats, there is more than adequate room to move through theatre without disturbing other patrons. This is particularly helpful when you are seeing a kid's movie and your two children choose to stagger their bathroom breaks. read more

I know that everyone complains about how expensive movie theater food is...but when you're paying premium prices for food, you would at least expect the food order to be correct and fresh. Alas, that's not the case. I ordered a bbq chicken pizza. By the time I got to my seat, that's when I realized I was given a buffalo chicken pizza. Since I don't dislike buffalo chicken, I opted to keep the pizza, but it didn't take long to discover that the crust was flavorless and it was like eating small cut bits of that Tyson pregrilled chicken you can buy in the supermarket and a mild hot sauce. No blue cheese or any real flavor...just chewy chicken and a sauce with some heat. I figured there was no point in returning it as the bbq chicken was probably no better. We also did a small order of the gourmet popcorn. A mix of the caramel popcorn and the cheddar crunch. The caramel popcorn was ok...nothing special. It was obvious the cheddar crunch popcorn is not made fresh there and the batch we had had been there for a while. The popcorn was stale and just not enjoyable. Very disappointed...if you're gonna but food there, is stick to just the regular popcorn. read more

The seats are amazing. Individual recliners. The screen is typical. Sound is typical. The thing that was unbelievable was how dirty it was. The front of the building was littered with paper product garbage. Cups, lids, popcorn bags. Clearly no one has cleaned the front sidewalk in many days. Then inside was exactly the same. Popcorn EVERYWHERE. I mean, it was everywhere. No one had run a vacuum cleaner in this place for days.... Or whatever. Don't know how long it take to have popcorn all over the floor across the entire facility, but that's the scene. In front of the large soda was a mess. Cups, lids, straws, napkins... a total mess that wasn't swept up for many days. And here's the kicker, there were approximately 6 workers standing behind the snack counter doing nothing! Standing around joking. Goofing around. One guy working. It was clearly UNMANAGED. With theaters trying to get people back into the theater, this was disgusting display of apathy toward common sense. read more

In terms of comfort, the AMC theater takes the cake in WNY. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put reclining lazy boy-like chairs in a theater was a genius! It brings a comfort from home to the big screen. Not only do you have a comfortable place to sit and relax, you have a place to cuddle and share popcorn with your sweetie. The arm rests moves up so your two seats sort of make a love seat. Along with being able to purchase your tickets ahead of time, there is an option for you to reserve specific seats. It eliminates that feeling of walking into the theater and seeing there are no decent seats left. So it's worth it to get your tickets ahead of time! read more

Ummm YES. Having recently watched a movie at Regal, I can confidently say AMC Maple Ridge will be my new place to watch movies. I saw a movie here with a friend a couple weeks ago. How could anyone not like this theater?!?! The seats freaking RECLINE when you press a button. The seats are comfy, the cup holders are deep and secure, the whole place just feels good, better than it used to. New, fresh air! I love it!! When I came here, i did not have the pleasure of eating a snack, but I sure as hell will the next time I come here. And there will be a next time too!! Bathrooms are clean and new too. At first I applauded the switch to reclining seats at this theatre. After tonight, I may never return. Couples have caught on that they can spoon, make out, and perhaps go further still by pushing up the partition between their seats, turning them into one love-seat/mattress. When I go to the movies, I do NOT want to see couples behaving as though in their living room or worse, in their bedroom. I raised my hand to shield my face so that I did not have to see the couple going at it next to me, and the female insulted me. Because of assigned seating and a sold-out house, I couldn't simply change my seat to get away from this obnoxious pair. The movie was a long one and I lost the circulation in my arm, but dared not lower it for fear of irreversible visual trauma. Needless to say, there was still all manner of sound effects coming from them that were not appropriate to the film being shown (a psychological thriller). Titters, legs going over legs, the sound of denim being caressed repeatedly (gee, I wonder where that was going), etc. If Maple Ridge is going to have double seats that virtually become beds, they need to supervise and stop these no-class couples. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad these people have found someone just as lacking in a sense of public behavior and courtesy as they are. I just don't want to sit anywhere near them and involuntarily see and hear their distracting and disgusting antics. Let's not even go into the hygienic ramifications of this behavior.
