This AMC is ass! The AMC jump the line and cut everybody if you can pay us more money marketing campaign is just another way to separate the rich from the poor people. For $15 extra you can skip to the head of the line in the concession area. Meanwhile if you do skip to the front of the line, you're a scumbag. Who would jump the line in front of old people, mothers with children, pregnant women, not to mention all the other people that have been waiting for 10 minutes to get an overpriced popcorn and soda! I complained to the manager and she agreed it was a messed up system. She didn't like that the business was cutting half of their customers into first class people and the other part into second-class citizens. I guess rich people are the AMC Target audience. I'm wondering is this a German owned business? Is this business part of the KKK? I talked to the "GM" and he was a total douche bag. If you have to argue and argue and argue (which is what he did) then your marketing plan sucks if you have to defend it. He actually walked away from me because he couldn't defend it. I came here on a whim to see "It" and I have to say I really enjoyed myself! I happened to be in the area later on that day and heard so much great reviews about this movie and that it was scary so I decided to come see it on a solo mission. The best part about going to the movies on a Sunday night is that no one is there so there were no lines, the person at the ticket booth was friendly and so were the men at the food counter. I loved the fact that they were engaging in conversation-just being really friendly. I try not to eat movies food too often but I will say that the hotdog that I had was pretty good and so was the slushy. Once going in, I had to somewhat look for my seat because now the movie theater has a system in place where upon paying for your ticket you can pick your seat. Either way I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back! read more

I was pleasantly surprised at all the changes made to this theatre. The first inkling that things were a bit different was during the ordering process on Fandango. The seating is now reserved, but it's not a dine-in theatre. The seats are SO comfortable, roomy, and they also recline. I prefer the dine-ins, but this is a nice alternative. read more

This is an okay theater, but the day that I went the process to buy the tickets was bizarre. I went on a Friday night and it was the night that The Incredibles 2 came out (I didn't see that movie) and we waited in a long line to get tickets. The organization was bizarre. Someone who worked at the theater separated everyone into two lines but the lines ended up going to the same place? There were 4 kiosks in the front where you could buy your tickets but neither of the ticket attendants bothered to tell anyone that they weren't working, so when I was standing in line I watched people go up to try and buy their tickets while the girl looked at them and said nothing as they went back to the end of the line. Weird. She was also a little rude and offputting when I was buying my ticket. I do like the reserved seating option and the seats are super comfortable. I wanted SO bad to love this theater but they totally let me down. So, the big comfy chairs are a major plus but they don't recline...blah! Nobody bothered to check our tickets before we entered the theater. I guess that's why we had about 6 people sitting on the floor watching the movie(who obviously didn't pay to get in.) The concession stand was a nightmare. The prices? Outrageous!! I ordered a medium soda and a large slushy and it was a little over $11!! I suggest you eat before you get there!! The entire theater was messy. I saw a few workers walking around with brooms and rags but I'm not quite sure what they were doing with them. It was a very busy Saturday night so I guess they were overwhelmed. They have plenty of free parking in the front & back so that's a plus. This theater has 5 star potential but they are lacking in so many areas. Although this visit was a doozie, I am willing to give them another try. I think I will just avoid going there on the weekends & I'll be sure to eat before I go. read more

The absolute worst movie theater in America! Went today to see the 2 pm showing of Harriet. All but 2 people working the concession stand must have been on break because there was an unmoving line for 10 min (I was in the a list stubbs line and still no movement). I could excuse that, but what I can't, is the screen remained black until 2:15 pm. We sat there waiting but nothing. The actual movie started at 2:35 pm. AMC should be utterly embarrassed to have their name associated with this place. read more

Came in the other day to see 50 Shades of Grey and the place has been redone since I've last been here. It's looks so much nicer and it was super clean. Had several lines open to get people through faster. Great experience will return again! read more

I'm not from this area of NJ and I typically go here for my movies. First off, I experience some issues with the stadium seating theaters that developed over the past few years so I look for a level surface. What I like about this, is that you get to choose your seats well ahead of time. There's no fight for the seats and you can walk in 2 minutes before the movie starts and sit down where you are supposed to be. Love this and love their comfortable seats which we typically see in dine-in theaters! I'm so glad this is not a dine-in theater, as it makes it less distracting and I can actually sit and enjoy the movie without having servers run through the aisles. However, there is one down side to this theater and that is the price of the food. Do yourself a favor and just find a restaurant in the area to eat in. There's no way I should be paying $15 for nachos and a drink, only to discover that the cheese for the nachos is a package of cheese they just warm up a bit and give you so you can peel it back yourself and dip. What happened to the fresh nacho cheese? That price is way too much and I can get the same thing in the store for $4. Besides that, the theater has great views, comfortable seats with LOTS of room, easy parking, isn't too crowded even on a big premiere and the picture and sound quality is great. I'll definitely be back here for more movies in the future! read more

Being that it's 2015, and basically 2016... I expected more from this theater. They did have comfortable seating, but the seats didn't recline... which was odd. I searched throughout my WHOLE movie trying to recline my legs, but couldn't. They don't have stadium seating!!! HOW SAD!!!! This is the part that really confused me! I frequent this movie theater every other weekend, with that being said, I know it takes 15 mins max to make pretzel bites. I went purchase some and they guy said it would take 30 mins. Mind you he looked like he didn't want to make them for me. We wait off to the side as instructed. Ten mins later the manager comes to ask what we are waiting for, goes over to check on them and said they were done 5 mins ago.... Im no psychic, but considering there was only 2 batches of pretzels in the oven as opposed to it being full, I can assume he was making them for himself. I almost rather have the girl that didn't look at me once while I'm ordering/paying, fulfill my food request instead. I don't get it. I used to really like this AMC theater. I have been there many times, but PLEASE...there is a moth infestation there that is still going on. This theatre is ok, I will tell you this, everyone that works here is slow and way outta touch with any sort of customer service. You ask a question you get a "Huh", or "What". I ask one kid, I said " excuse me, there are no napkins !", the answer I get is the point of a finger and a "look over there". Never even picked his head up, Whatever Kid. The drink station is the most disgusting area of this theatre. I get it people can be messy, but come on management, someone should be monitoring this. It's not just one time, it's every time. I love this new reserved seating concept. For a person like me who doesn't care about missing previews- it's awesome to be able to reserve my seat from home and then head to the theater, buy snacks in a relaxed fashion and head on in for the movie. Just make sure you get there before they turn the lights out because once they do, good luck trying to find your seat. And you'll need some more luck with telling whoever's sitting in it to get up out of it. I'm giving this theatre 3 stars because they've made one very strange and extremely frustrating error. For some reason,they've moved the self check out ticket machines up to the counter where people wait in line to buy tickets from amc employees. I've never seen anyone use the self check out. It makes for an awkward situation where I basically have to cut a line of like 20 people who don't understand that they can use the machines. I wish the theatre would clear this issue up. I think more people would use it if they understood. Comfy seats! Large leather reclining seats that really made watching the movie enjoyable. The restrooms were not too bad, but could have been more clean. The prices for snacks were pretty high, but if u get the stub card and go to the movies often, it's worth the benefits. read more

Nice movie theater with rocking seats. They are large and pretty comfortable. Lots of leg room. However, no stadium seating so all the seats are basically on the same level. It would be awesome to have the seats that recline all the way back. I like that you can buy your tickets online and reserve actual seats. Therefore eliminating the need to come early. There is a convenience fee- $1 per ticket via AMC and $1.50 per ticket via fandango. read more

I have not been to this theater since they remodeled and I must say it was very nice especially compared to what I remembered about the location. I love how the concession area is setup where you can do your own sodas and slushy. I prefer doing my item beverages. The new cinema seats are awesome and very comfortable. I love that I get to enjoy these seats without have to go to a dine in theater all the time (nothing wrong with a dine in theater I love those as well). I will definitely be back. read more

This movie theater needs new management ASAP! What use to be a great movie experience has been tarnished with uncleaned bathrooms, nasty drink stations and food all over the place (hallways, walkways, seats, etc). Clearly, I don't blame the youngsters who work there. I blame the management running the location and whom they have on duty at any given time of the day. If management does not implement the need to keep the theater clean, then why should the employees care. Truly sad to see this place lose in such a trashy way. read more

I am an AMC Stubs member, and go to the movies rather frequently. This AMC theater was upgraded with comfortable, reserved seating. That's the good part and the only reason I am giving the theater two stars. However, the theater itself is not always in good condition. On a recent visit, early in the evening, the bathroom was a disaster. Several toilets were clogged, two sinks were backed up, the waste disposal was overflowing, and the floor by the stalls had water on it. Disgusting. Ruined my visit. I wrote a complaint to the contact on the AMC website and never heard back. I even have photos to share with management (don't want to post here because they are truly gross). But no one seems to care. My Stubs card is up for renewal soon. Makes me stop and consider if AMC doesn't listen to customer complaints. read more

We have been going here to see movies for years. This summer, they renovated this theater and it made seeing a movie an unpleasant experience. They installed these new "comfortable" seats, but they are anything but comfortable. Any seat that was installed on the floor was installed on a downward angle and, when watching a movie, I feel that I am falling forward. We had to move to the handicap seats in the back to sit on a level surface. Also, we used to park in the rear of the theater and the renovations closed that entrance so that there is only one. The renovations made the theater look good, but made it an unpleasant place to see a movie. read more

Does anyone know why AMC Mountainside stop showing matinee movies? Going early was one of the good things about going to this theater.

Recently remodeled and I have mixed reviews about it. The ticket buying experience is more electronic and there is now only 1 teller if you want to pay cash. It does look nicer inside and they have new leather chairs which make my back feel really hot during the movie. Overall, it does look better but functionally I don't know if it will attract more people. At least there's plenty of parking out front. read more

Very slow popcorn / snack service. Showed up 15 mins before the start of my movie and the line moved so slowly that I missed the start of it. As an AMC stubs premiere member I waited in the "express" line which moved slower than the regular. AMC needs to add an express lane just for popcorn/ soda purchases or enable the "order in advance" function for this facility. read more

If I could give a negative review, I would. For starters, service was horrible. I am a stubs member & watched other people in line go before me repeatedly before I just decided to stand in that one. Then when I finally received service the cashier @ the snack bar tried to give me popcorn in a used large container since they had ran out & they failed to mention that after I paid. Then, after I refused to take it, he gave me a small & told me he'd just refill it if need be. Every time I come here it's always an issue, so I'll just take the hint and spend my money else where. First time at this theater was around October 2017. Positives: *The seats were good. *The cost was good. *The concession seemed okay. Negatives: *Most of the screens were dirty. Filthy even. Came here to watch Black Panther and ordered my tickets online a couple days prior. When I went into the theater, the seats I reserved were taken. Thus, I asked an employee to address the issue. She checked my tickets and asked the people sitting in my seats to kindly leave the theater since their tickets were for a different day. I was initially pleased with how calm she handled the situation, until she gave my sister attitude. My sister did not know that the situation was being addressed so she told the employee that people were in our seats, to which the employee rudely stated "I work here, I know and I'm handling it". This theater isn't the cleanest and employees rubbed me the wrong way, so I probably won't come here again. read more

Came here for an 11pm movie. I was so hungry and couldn't wait to order. I get to the counter and the girl says that the fryer is down so I can't order food. Mediocre theater. The exterior and lobby are deceiving as I originally thought that the theater was going to be my new favorite spot upon entering. The outside advertises an upscale theater and the lobby displays the same. However, the interior of the actual theater is a little different. The seats are ripped and decrepit, don't recline, and are overall not comfortable. On the plus side, the inside of the theater itself was somewhat clean. There wasn't garbage or food on the floors or seats. The theater itself is huge but the seats are very close to one another which doesn't offer any leg room when you sit in the uncomfortable seat that doesn't move. Movie tickets were reasonably priced for a Friday night so that's all my complaints for now. Will I return? Probably not but maybe. read more

This theater is the filthiest, most disgusting theater I've ever been in. I went to the concession stand to buy soda. There was popcorn and trash strewn across the concession counter where food was being served. When I went to the soda fountain to fill my cup, I found cups, straws, lids and other trash all around on the floor and counters and spilled soda everywhere on the counters and floors. It was hard to find a square foot of floor anywhere that didn't have popcorn spilled on it. The employees clearly make no effort to keep any basic level of cleanliness. I'd be shocked if this place could pass a health department inspection. It should not be serving food of any kind. read more

I have been coming to this theatre with my now-grown children for years. It is the only one I will go to that is local to me and here is why Convenient ticket purchases through fandango. I hate waiting in line and, contrary to the comments of one reviewer, you don't have to get your ticket printed, so no line. helps when you have children. The Stubs program makes it worthwhile if you go to a lot of movies and I do I don't often go to late night movies but for the afternoon times, the bathrooms have been clean (so important) Popcorn is usually fresh (but expensive). Again the Stubs card helps. The premier line keeps concession wait times short. I have never had a problem with a distracting or loud audience. I have found the staff at the service desk to be helpful when I have to get a ticket refund (if I buy thickets for two children and one decides not to go you can get an immediate refund at the theatre if the movie has not started) CONS: They have remodeled in the last five years and now some of the seating is again looking worn, especially on the aisles read more
